  • I tried to record into Voxsyn and the most I could record is around oNE second!!
I tried everything, letting sound play or play notes....always ~1 second recording...
    What am I doing wrong?

Better hurry, as $6.99 USD will probably translate into £274,284 by Monday (morning).

Very good sir, you're moving closer to embodying the caricature of you I composed in the tawdry depths of my idle mind.

  • I will buy and create tunes and tags for the forthcoming civil war UK 2016! So proud to live in a country where over half the population have proved to have a lower IQ than a shoebox.

The issue was complex and the media misinformation campaigns (on both sides) were vociferous and disingenuous. I suspect the real reasons behind the scenes, particularly the massive financial interests involved, were hardly touched on at all in the (mainstream) media.

Anyway, back to vocoding, any more thoughts on this on versus virsyn's earlier offerings ? :)

  • @VirSyn, I think there is a bug in the recorder, I can't get more than 1 second long recording.
Tried everything, play notes, let it run on its own, same problem...
    Thanks

It could be worse, you could live in the Republic of London, in a shoebox that costs £1m!

I think that looking down your nose and insulting those who voted differently from you is hardly going to heal the divisions that the referendum exposed so clearly these last few weeks.

I voted leave because the EU is fundamentally a neoliberal institution with an unelected executive branch that is completely unaccountable to anyone. As rotten as the UK parliament is, at leat you can vote them out when enough is enough, we can't do that with the EU, which is why Tony Benn (and Jeremy Corbyn until very recently) was against it.

But it's been very disheartening seeing the reaction from the mainstream left to the result. They seem blind to the faults of the EU, despite watching Greece being fed to the wolves.

I'm no friend of the tabloids, and the referendum debate was abysmal in terms of discussing anything of substance, but it's clear that what was rejected was the status quo as much as anything.

If you want to see for yourself why people voted leave, John Harris's "Anywhere But Westminster" films on the Guardian's website lay it all bare.

A Georgian shoebox that will be worth around 50p (or $907,986,004) by the end of next week...

TBH the drop in house prices doesn't affect me. However my work is EU funded, so I'm out of a job, and the resources my disabled son uses are also now to be closed, so thanks to everyone who voted for that. Still at least we 'got our country back' :((

  • @soundklinik sorry, this is a bug - have uploaded an update on friday which fixes this, hopefully Apple puts this online monday.

  • Richardyot, please forgive me.

As someone who has just now been informed that I am most likely going to be redundant within six months which will mean I lose my home my car etc. please forgive me for being slightly irked. The comment was slightly tongue in cheek and totally meant to rile (succeeded at something) and although I realise that there are some who actually voted out for genuine reasons / beliefs and as we are a democracy that is as it should be.
However, most of those whom I know who voted to leave based their decision on xenophobic reasons alone which does appall me but am not surprised - watch Jeremy Kyle and see what your average English person has become.

Equally as being part of a democracy we who lost have a right to voice our feelings about it and right now those feelings are embarrassment, disgust and disbelief.

Anyway congratulations to you for winning - but this does not mean we have to lay down and take it without a fight.

It's equally insulting to state that we who wanted to remain don't see the faults in the EU - there are appalling aspects to it but keep your friends close and your enemies closer and at least we had jobs. Now we are isolated and the contry has been set back decades with another recession to look forward to. At least with all that extra money (?) we will now have we can pay all those who will lose their livelihoods the dole.

Anyway enough of this crap I now promise to shut up re this issue and will only talk apps from here on in. Audiobus is not a political forum and I should not have posted about this or even this post - please forgive!

Thank you, was wondering if I didn't figure things out correctly...
    Great app :)

  • @carol, I wish you well, hope all works out well for you, but I do believe this is Global problem, it can't be ignored. Sorry to everyone, for this off-topic post.

  • Back in topic - Just ran Patterning through it so I could explore the presets and discovering what a superb app this is, absolutely brilliant. Noticed though that phaser rate, and delay cutoff knobs seem to get stuck, and don't respond sometimes.

  • grabbed a copy - think there is a bug in the list of recorded sounds. It you select a recording, and tap the edit-pencil icon, the app crashes. iOS 9.3.2 - Air2

Do wish you could record input from the mike, save it as a sample, then begin to apply the vox.... Appears now to only handle live sessions. If the doorbell rings at the end of a "perfect take" - tough maracas baby!

Very cool seeming app - hope it grows a bit with sample mgmt, etc.

  • Ah - nice find: Using AB, I ran Animoog into VoxSyn, set Animoog to HOLD, and went to VS. There, the mike gain would control the Animoog level, and I could apply any of the VS Presets. Then go back and play that combination. Very basic stuff, I guess.. VoxSyn should be great for soundscapes and other way-out "noises/sounds"!

  • does voxsyn have midi learn?

I read somewhere there's a bug in recording and fix has been submitted.

This is a cool app with lots of possibilities beyond "vocoder".

  • Still at least Boris has promised to apologise if it all goes wrong so no need to worry.

That is such a relief. I was getting worried for a moment.

He's going to reveal his brilliant plan tomorrow, everything's going to be fine, especially when he becomes PM. And at least we got rid if those unelected....erm...

  • Is Ivoxel still going to be supported?

Once again, fell for the new app hype. This thing keeps crashing for me. Reinstalled. Somewhat stable now, but end up losing all audio and have to do reboot. ipadAir2 latest iOS

Doesn't really feel like such a new app. Kinda sorta like they cannibalized updates intended for their other apps, and just repackaged them all into a new app with a new name to sell at an "introductory" price that's basically the same price as their other apps. Am I missing something here? Kinda feel like I paid to be a beta tester with this crashing already. :(

Oh well... cost less than the lousy matinee movie I went to see yesterday, and maybe the next update will fix it.

  • if there are problems post on their Facebook page and bring back answers :)

Leaving for Mexico and don't have time to bother with it. I just assumed that since they have several other apps and a decent rep/history that a released version from them would be solid out of the gate. I simply succumbed to pre-trip jitters and thought I'd distract myself with a little audio app purchase before I shut everything down for a few weeks.

Should've just waited for all early adopters to shake it out more before I bought. No biggy. Just kicking myself for falling for the new app hype once again. I already know better at this point. My fault. :(

Hasn't crashed for me but there are bugs.

I like it, I'm getting a fivers worth of fun out of it and will look forward to the fixes. Would love to be able to edit the synth settings though.
