  • This how to do it Korg !

Give users free updates / new features and people will be more than inclined to buy the new stuff - well it worked for me ! Even though in iOS land £7.99 per IAP is slightly pricey, I think Madrid and Gladstone are well worth it and I will end up using them. Adding per-track FX and the free soft tape sounds in Module, swung it for me.

BTW, the delay and sidechain are ace, the delay's 'colour' control lets you add the delay to the higher or lower frequencies - really useful for drums / percussion.

We are many many user that love The new Korg Gadget 2.5...

Korg Inc. Is doing an tremendous job on Gadget!
Really love the new aucoustic drums & bassgadgets!

One thing though that getting annoying is the selection of patches in the gadget Glasgow...
For every update of Korg Module Korg adding the sounds in Glasgow... That's good, but, now I have more than 150 patches/sounds in Glasgow, and, to choose/switch patch the small window is to fiddly to handle...
My request in Glasgow would be the way Marseille handle patches with categories...

Korg, can we get easier way to categorize sounds in Glasgow?

Oh, one more thing: Korg, can we get an guitar-Gadget next big update?

  • Soonish I will most likely start to post stuff at the Korg Forums again :)

Right now I'm trying to find a way to disable Animoog from automagically translating external midi-controller velocity to 'poly/aftertouch'...

Press the up arrow and voila, the keys get longer and y-axis controls the velocity :)

I would also be nice if madrid had a way to 'slide' the pitch when sliding the finger over the onscreen-keys, as it is now it just re-triggers the notes, this would be one way to make the Fretless presets sound more natural :)

    Bing, bing, bing.

I suggest these two whole new threads translated to Japanese. Otherwise, you might just saying here to yourself and to me, not to those developers.

No worries. The ideas will end up on the proper Korg Forums too where the Korg staff at least sometimes decides to drop by and look at what's going on :)

Can you also lobby for some AUlicious goodness for iM1?

To honest it's far more likely that we'll get AU-Hosting Inside Gadget...
AU support has already been requested by some over at the Korg Forums.

Of the 'Big Three' (Korg, Roland & Yamaha) Korg definitely has the edge on iOS.
All three companies probably have a lot of 'previous generation' source-code, samples and knowledge that can be 're-cycled' and 'monetised' on iOS. My guess is that they are waiting for the right time to do that...

I have no connections inside Korg or any other companies. If I had they would have heard about most if the stuff that is discussed here...(= Community influenced product development/enhancement).

  • I wonder why Korg would want AU-hosting in Gadget. Wouldn't that contribute to them selling fewer gadgets? IAP's are their source of income with each update.

  • Has anyone had any problems with the gadget Bilbao keeping beat? It glitches and throws the beats off. It happens every once in a while but now it's worse. Any suggestions? All my effects are off on the gadget.

Hehe, I am wondering too? Take a stone to hit their own toes one by one! :D

  • Great update,
I really wish they would give a comprehensive fully functional sampler Gadget
Gladstone sounds good but is really not needed if you know how to install your own samples into Bilboa
Kamata and Madrid and Module make Gadget a beast.

I like Gladstone because I don't have a lot of samples. Also, I really don't want to be bothered working on editing clips, making sure transitions are clean, etc.

Gladstone just gives me quality acoustic drum sounds (which were lacking in Gadget before) right out of the gate, no fuss no muss. I'll gladly pay $10 for that.

  • Uh oh.... I am getting a bug when I leave a clip that the wrong instrument name and icon is displayed for a track.

    Be careful kids!

How about the reverse; make Gadget itself an AU in such a way that each instrument is separately instanceable to any AU host.

UH OH 2! Clearing notes don't visibily clear and newly recorded notes don't show up but do play! Mommy!

OH weird! Freezing a different track then cleans up all the invisible notes etc!

  • Gadget will become an OS soon, which hopefully will be able to host iOS.

  • By now I could basically do everything with gadget (module and iM1 sounds included) I would like a guitar gadget of some sort (now that there's a bass and an acoustic drums one) with a custom UI for writing guitar parts, maybe a stronger MIDI implementation as well. It's not cheap but Korg apps are one of the few software products I haven't regret at all expending all of this money at.

I would love a more dedicated guitar, plucky string, gadget. One thing I found this morning is that Marseille really comes alive now with the delay and reverb. Makes the plucky strings fare less cheezy.

I think I will even pick up the 8bit gadet too just to help fuel the overall effort.

The Triton Expansion for Module (Glasgow Gadget) has some nice guitars. Hope Doug's demo of the pack is not too far away :)

^ Totally agree. Velocity on y-axis in Madrid is a good sign and some gadgets really need that slide control keyboard.

Until that day, you could play with Thumbjam in the 'slide' keyboard mode - sending midi into Gadget.

Here is a bit I did this weekend using all the new fx / gadgets (with a few of the old) plus some Shoom and Patterning with Dedalus. Mostly recorded into Cubasis and then a bit of editing on PC in Samplitude.
