It does not work at all. It's disappointing that they haven't taken the time to replicate in house. Perhaps their developers are working with a different build than the one that has been released to the App Store.
I understand it can be frustrating to have an issue and especially when some of the initial suggestions may seem basic and pointless if they do not resolve the issue. I completely get that and it certainly makes me impatient, I won't lie. However, the support team will definitely continue to assist you and help resolve this issue. I did confirm with the support team that on multiple devices they were able to load SampleTank into an instrument slot in Cubasis and successfully sent it MIDI. Hopefully other users will chime in either way to perhaps expose a common thread among those experiencing the same issue, and they will also continue testing to try to recreate it while continuing to assist you with this. I hope a solution is found in the near future so you can have a more satisfying experience with SampleTank going forward.
Edit - in reply to the post above mine, no they are not using a different build and they do take the time to best replicate any reported issues.
Cool: I provided tech support for many years, and I understand the importance of establishing a base state. It's also good to know it's working on some devices. It was just the lack of noted success here and the rote nature of the support replies (and that they didn't seem to have read my first report closely) that made me wonder. Thanks for the response, and I hope this is resolved soon, as I love the sound of the updated version.
@IK_Multimedia I wasn't able to buy the all sounds pack even though I still had time on the last day of the sale @ 10 pm PST. Is there any chance to allow an extra day for those that had this happen to them?
@IK_Multimedia Thanks for posting, I hope you get time to read all the comments, not only for the issues, important though they are, but also for the praise and suggestions which have been made. ST2 is a big step forward and I look forward to its continued development.
@IK_Multimedia - hi there. Do please consider adding multi-channel-out. It would make it so much more useful to play with Cubasis or Auria Pro, etc. to be able to send each instrument to a separate stereo channel.
Okay here's something that just worked (but did not yesterday)
After loading SampleTank in an instrument slot, change MIDI out to "Sample Tank Full" (see attached photo)
Now so far when I've tried this, I've gotten it to work, however SampleTank will also play a stuck whistling note until I switch patches, this vanquishes it.
@ikmultimedia I have used ST2 extensively since the update - a big step forward and some incredible sounds especially with the Pro pack. Here are my findings using iPad Air 2 iOS 9.3.3
Live Mode - a wonderful new feature but quite easy to achieve lots of crashes when playing from an external MIDI keyboard. I am constantly switching user slots to ensure my work is saved but this area could be more solid.
AudioShare - I use this with IAA as a simple audio out to record my work for review but also, because I am afraid Sampletank will crash and I will lose everything which happens frequently (especially ref my Live Mode comment).
Cubasis - I have successfully used IAA to record lots of audio into single tracks without issue and I have sent both MIDI note and cc's so this does work. However, I have occasionally experienced the reported stuck / high pitched notes but not all of the time.
Good report for the user (me) who has Miroslav and Sonic but hasn't dived into Pro. Must say that pricing is the issue here. And not that it's not worth 40 bucks if it is. Just weird how in my head I would have bought it three times already (well, the once) if it'd been 29.99 but 39.99 seems like an altogether more serious commitment. We are weird consumers...
I should qualify that it does send MIDI, but as I switch patches in ST 8 times out of 10 I'll get that high pitched note (sounds like a piano sample played at the top end of an 88 key piano) On some organ patches it will sound like a synth.
In each case the rogue sound is layered on top of the proper patch but only when triggered from the Cubasis keyboard... it's not observed when playing the ST keyboard. The rogue sound is definitely coming from ST because if I turn the volume down in ST, I don't hear it.
I was able to send Four midi tracks to ST2 in Multi Mix mode via IAA. Once you select one midi track to host ST the others don't have to host just route the midi channel out to ST via the correct midi channel to match the receiving channel in ST.
In the instrument mode though I did hear the high pitch sound which is really annoying.
I see IAA instrument mode strikes again
Thanks, I'm just gonna wait until the vendors do AU.....IAA is a bag of hurt

Works great but just too much midi kind of gets it overloaded. But instead I just do it the old school way. Point each midi channel midi out to ST and don't host it as IAA then record the out of ST via Audiobus.
Truth
Though once its gets this convoluted I start to re-evaluate the value proposition of sequencing a particular project on iPad vs Mac
The value is in the ease of use. The SoundCloud example I posted used QT on a Mac mini for the recording, but it was generated while bungee jumping off the China glass bridge....ok, it was in my bathroom, in my house in Atlanta, but you get the point.
Yes indeed. iPad is easier, way easier and more enjoyable. The current IAA experience reduces much of this advantage. So as great as those synths sound the majority just sit lonely in a folder on the iPad. For me it's becoming AUi or the highway.
ST would rock as an AU....it was one of the first great plugin sample players on Desktop until Kontakt blew everybody away.
I'm no expert, but I don't see how ST could be an AU and remain within the relatively small RAM limitations of the spec. Is it possible to create an AU that communicates with the main app, allowing adjustment of a subset of options, while leaving the heavy lifting to the parent? Smart people? Anybody?
I think the ST binary itself would fit, as far as the samples I'm hoping that CAF disk streaming (such as what has been promoted with Neo-Soul keys) would provide an architecture that would allow most samples to load.
Hi, the promotions typically end based on our location which in the US is based in the Eastern time zone (at least it is not based on Italy time since our global HQ is there!). Since these are run through the App Store we are unable to reopen a promo or manually manipulate IAP purchases to make an exception in a case like this, I'm afraid to be the bearer or disappointing news.
I had relayed this request (and the AU requests I have also seen in this thread) on release day. I appreciate your input.
OK, and finally (I don't find an easy multiquote here, but could have missed it) version 2.0.1 is available now and the What's New states:
No worries
Multi out would be amazing! AU would put this as #1 Workstation for many musicians.
Yep definitely fixed the IAA issues.
yep, nice. And quick!
@ikmultimedia nice work. Both IAA and MIDI working superbly well. Now people might get behind this app because the sounds and power on offer are huge. For recording and live work it's a gem
Great! I will relay this information to the team. I'm glad to hear that issues have been resolved quickly and to your satisfaction.
There's a new version out today, which claims to fix it
Responsiveness (in communications, but especially in code) makes people happy
+1
Excellent! IAA is now working as expected.
