So, what you are saying is that it's a cheesy sex knob?
I believe iFretless Guitar has true legato when doing hammer-ons or pull-offs, doesn't it? Or is it just pitch shifting the samples?
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew. That's put me off my dinner!
Only the developer would know. If there's a hammer-on from E to F#, did he or she record the E-F# hammer-on as a separate sample? Then it's true legato. If he just has E and F# samples, then not.
But I mentioned FingerFiddle before because some modeled instruments can sound more as realistic or more realistic than sampled instruments. But it's pure synthesis, not samples at all.

I honestly love this app!!! Gotta get some iTunes credits tho!
Regarding the sex knob I would love the option of renaming it to Sax not that I mind it being Sex but because in the church I
might give the wrong impression while at the sanctuary doing worship, imagine the pastor walks around me and sees me increasing the knob?
If you have Kontakt, The SawMonium is only 8 British pounds!

I looked this up as a joke, but discovered this great company UnEarthed Sampling.
They have some amazing plugins for very low prices, some nice spacey stuff and unusual percussion.
Bowed Fences! A very cool ambient electric guitar...
So thank you, @aaronpc !!
@MusicMan4Christ I sent a note to Embertone about this. I invited them to join the forum and respond directly.
I kinda think it sounds better as Sax. Saxiness or something similar is more subtle.
I also sent an email requesting they rename the central control. Will not be an app I purchase until / unless they do. Unnecessarily distracting.
I recently became aware of embertone's Kontakt instruments and was demosntrating the free recorder instrument to my wife (yes, I'm very happily married), and had been thinking about looking at some more of their offerings.
Unhelpful to see that distraction crop up in an app for the iPad.
Hopeful they'll give the option of changing it.
Me: "Honey, I'm getting us a Sex Knob."
Her (not even looking up from the jigsaw puzzle she's been working on for three days already): "You'll be disappointed."
Bought it anyway.
Re: Distracting sex knob
Dear Sir/Madam...
(Sorry, I'm just being juvenal. Couldn't help myself!)
I guess they probably should change it - although I personally have zero feelings either way. Looks like a cool app though. Will probably buy it even though I rarely use AUs or make music with sexy sax in it.
I think of the "SEX" control as "SFX" with an extra line graffiti'd on by an adolescent boy.
Personally, I bought the app and like the sound very much. Having said that, there are some features which piss me off.
That scrolling message about abusing the sex knob? Gratuitous puerile bullshit unrelated to any of the audio functions and having been targeted by actual abusers, I find the whole "Haha penis" mood of the app very much offensive.
I want to make music, not be reminded yet again that men have knobs and think about poking them at things all day and night.
I am struggling to believe an established company actually puts their name to this app, Embertone should be embarassed.
Yes, my reproductive organs are internal, surprise, not all music makers are knobs. I should not have to tell you this, Embertone. Take the erotica out of my music app please.
My wife always laughs when I go on about 'twiddling me knobs'. My wife thinks she's a minion though and giggles at most things![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
It is frequently claimed that Brigitte Bardot caused consternation when she asked for “a penis” as her luxury item, only for it to become quickly apparent that she was asking for “happiness”.
Maybe they could give it a knobless mode?
It's a brilliant marketing move. "Sax sells" never forget. People will be talking about this stupid but funny knob for quite some time.
Of course it's juvenile. That's what makes it funny.
Instant buy. My kind of sax. Description alone told me "these guys get it, give them money"
LOL the graphics as you turn up the sex knob!
I suppose I can't talk as even my profile images may be considered either risqué or juvenile lol
Just viewed a YT review of the VST version and it looks like that one can be opened in a less provocative view but with full functionality.
Is there a way to not have it increase the reverb as one increases the Sax knob?
I personally like more dirty sax myself
There is a "Sax" knob?
Just been playing with the Sex Knob, and providing my eyesight remains good, I'm going to get great pleasure. This is such a good app at version one. Really, it shows the way to developers. No excuses, does what it claims, and everything there right from the get go..... except, as has been pointed out, it doesn't seem to show up as AU under Auria Pro.
Okay, the joke part of the name is a bit juvenile, but when an app sounds this good, and has all the right connections, that can be forgiven. And, the developer can always change the graphic to read Sensuality, or something.
Press the small illuminated button below the central knob reveals individual FX settings menu.
This is the funniest sentence in this whole thread.

I see all this discussion about the Sex button and well... just find funny that grown up people see that word and blush...or even worse, they find it offensive or politically incorrect. We come from sex, no matter who you are or how many times one goes to church per week.
The fact that people have to even talk about it is amazing. It's a brilliant marketing move. Wouldn't be surprised if some "mainstream" blogs would pick this up and send this app to the charts.
Although I'd prefer the overt erotica were all gone, ultimatelyI don't give a shit about what the central control is called. That's why I bought the app.
What I was not told about and object to is being repeatedly issued dirty old man directives every 60 seconds or so when I'm trying to make some bloody music.
Quick test...
