This looks good but I don't know why Korg hasn't updated the iPolySix as a gadget too and Apple have been screwing customers in the UK with the prices of apps on the App Store. Customers in the UK should be paying £15 instead of £20 because it is $20 in the US store.

On a positive note the Mono/Poly is a great sounding synth and I just recently bought it when I bought the Korg Legacy Collection during the Korg sale a week ago and I bought it as a rack extension for Reason. I am confident this will be a great sounding app on iOS.

  • Ok guys I know this has cropped up before, I brought Montpellier downloaded it as a separate app outside Gadget. Opened Gadget hit restore purchases and loaded Montpellier and bang no sound. What am I doing wrong? Iipad Pro 9.7 latest iOS not beta.

  • Looking forward to nano studio 2

It won't be dependant on heavy priced iap like BM3 or gadget

The obsidian synth is very very versatile and will cover all bases

Also, blip interactive has promised AUV3

If gadget had AUV3 I would carry on with it, but it's an almost closed eco system , that wouldn't be bad if the gadgets were more flexible and allowed crafting

AUV3 is the future and until ns2 arrives AUM is the host with the most

It's the first time a 'Gadget' is easier on my eyes than the stand-alone version :)
The 8 slot virtual patch-bay and the fact you can automate just about anything with Gadget is a real boon!

It's also perfect 'sampler fodder' for BM3 so for me it's well worth it!

Yes I did just that. This creates some glorious samples in BM3.

Expensive. No more money for you Gadget.

    +1

  • How much is missing this time between the standalone version and the Gadget version?
Does the Gadget version have the kaoss type pads?

Bought it. Didn't listen to any stinking demos. And paid the extra IAP five dollars for the extra factory bank of extra. Never heard of this Mister Brewster. Promised myself long ago that I didn't have a completionist problem because of, well, you know, Kamata, so that's good.

Kamata is glorious I tells you!! With no shits or nots!

Since deleting gadget, Kamata, Madrid and Gladstone are the only gadgets I miss.....the rest are meh...

    @anickt @MonzoPro
This does look nice, it is related to Polysix, but polysix cannot do all that this can....polysix is like a hardwired version of this...it has 1 OSC + sub, this however, when used in mono mode has 4 OSC's and you hve the matrix to route the modulation...
As a stand-alone app, ipolysix has the advantage of having 2 synths + drums available.

Is it too high a price ? Well this argument has been had many times, you could always go buy a second hand one

Thanks for the explanation Andy, no doubt I'll watch the vids and see what I'm missing.

As for pricing - my recent Komplete purchase worked out at a fiver per product - and this doesn't take into account the hundreds of separate instruments included in Kontakt, or the scores of synths you get with Reaktor - or indeed the thousands of ensembles available for free via the community library. And of course I can always sell it when I get fed up.

Gadget was the reason I dusted off my iPad 2 and updated the iOS - discovered Audiobus etc. But despite admiring it as a thing, and mucking about, I've never used it for a completed track.

It just feels like Korg's cash cow now. Maybe if they'd updated the ipolysix or even the iMS20 I'd be more supportive, but they're losing my interest now.

I'm sure it's a great synth, but this would be a luxury purchase I can't afford.

  • same here (as Mr. Monzo said), incl the Komplete thingy which I'm very happy with

feel no need, not much use and no money left

  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • Sorted had to backup and reinstall Gadget to get it working.

Polyshare in ipolsix has been broken for at least a year and they promised Link on this ages ago, I'd like to buy more Korg apps when they keep their other ones in good shape.
The Gadgets exist as AU on Mac now so only policy is stopping them being released on ios as AUs. I've bought pretty much everything Korg have released so far but that's changing if they keep to this system.

Can't argue with that sentiment ;)

Though after listing to this, I might end up eating my words - damn you Korg:

  • Seems like iMono/Poly and the Montpellier Gadget were 'rushed out' as parts of the UI have not yet been translated. This was also the case with Odyssei so it's most likely we'll be seeing updates pretty soon :)

Well this little gadget has two of them. Love it

Do they show up in Gadget?

  • edited August 2017

I don't care about presets too much so I'm not buying the Expansion Factory Pack but it seems to me like the iap presets are accessible via the previous/next preset buttons in Gadget.

  • Dont update Korg will fix their mistake!

Yay. My Gadget completist complex is finally broken! Not even a tiny bit interested. I'm Free!

Snap. Not even a quiver on the buyometer. Not that I could, even if I wanted to as this isn't my iPad.

That's at least four of us; I also passed on Miltipas and Kamata.
NOW, If they would only release Madrid as a standalone, I would be a very happy lad (and have a lot more space on my device)

Yes, I am like a broken record on this: GAWD, I WISH MADRID WAS A STANDALONE.

Madrid, and Gladstone would be great as stand-alone, preferably AU3 apps.

I am guessing 'no' - since the screenshot above is on the effect page - and there is no indication that there any button to take you to the kaoss page. If this is the case I will not be buying it either.

This new version of Gadget always crashes for me while attempting to save a song after changing a Gadget's Scale Type. Is anyone else having this problem?

Just tested and confirmed this. What shite! Now I have to wait to use it again.

EDIT: I just reported the scale crashing bug here. https://support.korguser.net/hc/en-us/requests/new I suggest you do the same.

  • Does the update has atleast custom track names? Or just ios tradition of sell more useless toys?

( probably gonna be trashed and banned over this remark . Not much space here for beeing realistic and truthful and wishing for stable and professional features )
