Update was smooth, my main music apps are running fine. I'm happy so far. Tomorrow I'll test bluetooth MIDI.

Today I gave up on midi over bluetooth on latest ios10. If its better Ill jump.
May everyone have luck on this fine update day!

Midi out is a blast... Shows up as a midi device (with Modstep on test) on desktop DAW.. Seems to have little or no latency. (FLS and Win10)... Wow..

So Im wondering is midi out for just the Ipad or the Iphone too? I updated my Iphone first but I dont see any new midi or audio devices showing up on my Mac, but Im still running 10.9.5 on my Mac. I dont myself updating my Mac right now, I just want to see my Ipad as a midi audio device. Its a no go on the phone but maybe that feature is just for Ipads?

anybody brave enough with an Air 1 to update? Let me know, I guess I could take the plunge for you guys.

I'd like to know too. Can someone take one for the Air1 team. Lol

+1. Air 1 user eagerly awaiting reports, but can't take the plunge myself yet.

The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • Does anyone know where are all of our purchased Musicmaking apps went on the Mac OS iTunes when we sync and update our iPads? I can only find iTunes music songs but no music making, kindle, or photo apps ect.? Everything A OK on the first gen IPad Pro over here, so far, so good...

  • The only thing I really like is the offloading apps to gain storage space. It feels better knowing my free space displays a larger number. No performance issues, but don't really care too much one way or the other for any of the other changes.

  • The new app store absolutely sucks. And yeah, where's my wish list?

  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • Audio still occasionally crackling on BM3 on my iPad Pro 12.9 running iOS11.

  • Anyone having success with AudioShare in the new files app? When I tap on AudioShare from the sidebar it looks like it’s trying to load something, but then immediately disappears. Not even sure why I would use the files app instead of the AudioShare app TBH.

After an update to iOS11 I can once again do backups using iTunes 12.7...
...no more crazy 'errors' of a disconnecting iPad :)

Aah - I have been getting that error with my 10.5. Looks like I might need to upgrade also.

  • Air2 iOS 11 only app I’ve had obvious trouble with so far is Drumperfect Pro won’t launch without going to background.

In another thread the developer said an iOS 11 compatible version is being worked on some time within the last week.

I’m on mini 2, that’s the same as air 1.
    It’s fine.
    Loving the new keyboard already.

Do you use BM3, KRFT, or Auria Pro by any chance? If so, have you had a chance to use then extensively yet?

I updated my air1 and it is running fine, doesn't seem slow. I didn't use any music apps yet but I took notes with my bluetooth stylus in goodnotes with no issues. I'll play around with it now tonight but it doesn't seem to have slowed it down on first impression. Might even be smoother than it was. I think everyone is still scarred from the ios8 update (or was it 7) that messed up audiobus so badly back in the day, but this seems to have been smooth.

The download only took 8 minutes, 50mbs internet service, either I got in early and apple wasnt slammed yet or they've figured that out. Will update my 6s later.

@Fruitbat1919 FruitLoop my brother! You & @MusicInclusive have been my most trusted iOS update scouts. I appreciate the bravery you show of saying F it and going for the update day one.

You weren't wrong about the tail end updates to iOS 8 or any of iOS 9...I worried, you reassured me, and my Air 2 has run like a champ on every update.

Soooo....I'm very close to doing it. DrumPerfect Pro is a HUGE tool in my studio, my drums are still sat in the corner not set up because a) my room isn't treated the best it could for drums (but it'd work) and most importantly b) DrumPerfect Pro with the right samples and patience in programming is as close to real drums as you can get...Marinus saying he's working on a solution is a relief! So aside from DPP, if nothing else is buggered up...

BTW: Am I missing something with the threads title?! Isn't today 09/19/17 or 19/09/17 for my British friends? I'm guessing just a typo...?

  • iPad Air, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s Plus user, I tried updated my iPhone 6s Plus to iOS 11, which takes me a lot of time. I guess that's because too many people are updating at the same time. I have some issues with my photos and imessages. Photos missing from my camera roll, and imessages wait for activate. After searching and trying some fixes, problems fixed. Now everything goes well. Maybe this is helpful: https://www.primosync.com/daily-tip/how-to-fix-common-ios-upgrade-issues.htm

  • Thanks @Mila

I'm going in, will share any oddities.

  • Dammit, screen recordings are in mono :(

just record the session in AudioShare and sync that audio to your screen recording. but yeah, it is a bummer.

On the beta I noticed the audio wasn't even synced to the video for a screen capture recording... so for me it is more of a video only feature, and we still have to record audio some other way.

  • So....took the plunge and updated my Air2, and so far so good, aside from the apps just just wont run because they arent 64bit, like Nanostudio and others, everything seems to be working perfectly. I have a TON of apps and ran thru a lot, not extensively but just to see what running and working without hiccups and no issues yet. Went thru all the DAWs I have on my Ipad, Cubasis, Garageband, Auria and Auria Pro, Mutitrack DAw, BeatMaker 3, BeatMaker2, ModStep, MusicStudio,Caustic, FL STudio, Genome MIDI.... everything except NanoStudio feel pretty solid so far. Rean thru some guitar sims, Amplitube,Bias fx, Bias Amp, Jamup Pro, Tonestack, Ampkit.. all solid, a bunch of synths, some graphic apps, video ( Lumafusion ).... Long story short, all good so far. I read where Drump Perfect Pro doesnt work, I dont have the pro to check it out, but Drum Perfect ( non pro ) works fine so Im sure thatll get sorted out.

IOS11 overall... Im liking it, I love being able to put my go to's in the doc now that we can add more than 6 apps in the dock. A few things need to get sorted out with the new file system, Audioshare is listed but doesnt open in it, but Audioshare itself till works. So normally I dont rush into new IOS updates, especially a big one like this, but I took a chance and I think Ill be ok. I do have and Ipad 2 so I can still run 32 bits apps on that if I really want to.

Now heres the one thing that Im a little disappointed with so far , and it might be my fault, I heard we'd be able to send midi and audio thru the lightning cable to the MacBook Pro and that the IPad work work pretty much like a usb class compliant device, and I thought I would see my Ipad inside Logic Pro and send midi to it, its not happening for me, but Im still running 10.9.5 on my Mac cuz I dont want to upgrade. If anyone has the midi and audio thru lightning cable going Id love to hear how they got that going. Anyway besides that Im good, though I think Ill have to get used to the new app store, I find it was easier to get around before the new one launched, we'll see.

  • Long Live BitWiz! So glad it made it to ios 11!

  • edited September 2017

I updated my air2 last night. Little usage took like 20% of battery and drained another around 40% over night, even tho it wasnt in use.. Hopefully this was just some random thing happening after update till i reset the ipad or something..

Same placee as your previously purchased list, gone as part of Apple’s less is more agenda. Ain’t progress wonderful. ;)

Agree. New APPSTORE was designed by someone on acid with a PlayStation psychosis
And where’s my wish List? All the earmarked apps I was gonna buy...

This is such a stupid move. Tens of millions of App Store customers keep an eye on stuff they may buy, and now that is just taken away.

I have the same problem because I need to run 10.8.5 for my ProTools version.

Solution was: I installed an ssd into my MacMini. Now I have dual boot with Sierra and Mountain Lion on different internal disks. If you try to do this on a single disk with two partitions, you’ll get trouble with your safety partition
