    Ah, right. ;)

No doubt on a par with Her Majesties 1st Winkler Brigade, masters of the full frontal assault.

Altogether now “They don’t like it up ‘em” :D

I felt the need to repeat that here:

"Are you getting unknown error -10851 when loading IAA apps? If you've updated to iOS 11, you now need to enable microphone access for all IAA apps or else they won't load in any host. (Settings>Privacy>Microphone)"

Pleaseeeeee, say that this is not true :o :o :o

In iOS 11 all IAA Apps require access to the microphone?!?!?!?

Only if they require audio input (e.g. effects apps, etc.).

There’s nothing sinister or strange about that requirement. If they wanted to spy on you they wouldn’t ask permission in the first place.

I can't decide if I feel sad for people who are stressed out so much about things like this, or envious because maybe they have enough of a life that it would be interesting to spy on. ;)

If Apple or the NSA are listening in on my life I only feel sorry for how incredibly bored they must be.

Could you imagine what it’s like to listen to all my farty noises (synth and arse)

Nah, they’ll see straight through that disguise. ;)

+1 I mean they must be so bored by now they are jumping on the walls and pulling out their hair because nothing interesting is happening :D

  • I wonder if the new AR stuff is running in the BG and causing quicker battery drain. I usually suspect it is some new features that cause the quicker drain, like when Siri came out and wanted to hang out in the BG, listening all of the time.

The microphone is solely used for recording things with the microphone!

This is simply a blanket-permission request for "any form of audio input including the Microphone" (since CoreAudio can switch between several input channels depending on what you're plugging into your device).

I cannot even understand how this can be seen different.

Really? I can. Not everything is a conspiracy.

  • Looks like the new App Store is about to get worse for indie developers without an advertising budget... Really Apple?

  • All my devices, 12.9 pro 2107, Air 2, iphone SE, Mini2 all have an occasional glitch when going to home screen from an unlock, a small freeze of a blown up image from the transition.

Apple have been letting some bad glitches get through these days.

  • I’m comsidering seriously leave the iOS platform since latest lags at iPhone 5s and all the glitches in iPad mini 4. Apple was going wrong in the lion era but rectified and we get finally mavericks and Yosemite... I’m feeling again the same mistake with larger iPhones and iPad air > pro strategy so I’m starting to feel very unconfortable as musician which was the most important reason to use this expensive mobile computers.

I’m starting selling LaunchControl XL and other things to buy some standalone old hardware and re-imagine my workflow.

Sorry to hear it. We will need to spread the word in other ways.

So next time you search for Ripplemaker and Monument Valley 3 is at the top of the search results, you know the reason :D

  • I don´t know why but my battery is so fast empty that i can´t even use this phone for a half day. That wasn´t the case before i updated to iOS 11. I already checked if everything i don´t need is turned off and it seems to be the case.

:D ....but i don´t find that too funny at all. The apps store was never a good place really but O.K. and easy to use, install and uninstall apps. But since iOS 11 i don´t open the freaking store often. I have about 80 updates waiting and i don´t care anymore really. Now that is the next thing i don´t want to see. The app store goes the soundcloud way. From awesome to good to O.K. and then terrible to "i don´t want to open it again".
Together with some other things which gone worse on iOS (at least for my personal use) i also think it might be time to left it behind me complete. Which is a shame but it´s a trap :|

  • I now have a feedback link to Apple shortcut on my browser. I recommend doing the same and using it a lot :D

The real search results you want though are when people search ‘synth’, ‘modular’, ‘beats’, ‘drum machine’ etc. Is that metadata where the ad money kicks in?

Yes, it's the same with my Pro 10.5, runs hot as well, didn't notice from the first versions of iOS 11 though only since recent minor updates.> @brambos said:

More corporate crap, survival of those who have the budget too.

I notice there’s a big arrow over movies now when they’re paused in the viewer. I used to scroll through a video I’d taken, stop at a good frame and take a screenshot still.

Can’t do that now (unless I want a big arrow over the image), another avenue of pleasure denied..

    11.2 update is out.

  • And it improved a bit the unsync and glitches but not reliable yet...

  • Noticed a weird bug with Files app today. All files and folders not showing up even iCloud ones and ones on the device. Reset doesn’t fix it but a hard reboot does. Very annoying, happened twice today. Not sure what the cause is, think I’ll update to 11.2.1 which is out now...

  • Running hot, iPad shutting down, dodgy battery life and slow charging, screen glitches, all since updating. I was on a sweet spot with 10x, I knew I should have stuck with it.

I would like to run iOS 6 on my iPhone 6S plus.

10x was great. 11x on my Air 2 and SE has been disappointing to say the least.

All I want to know is when they’re going to release iOS 12 beta. This is normally the time where they actually take a breath, breath out and get to sorting out the ‘lesser’ issues.

I remember iOS 9 was an absolute nightmare for the first 6 months. I even hunted down an iPad with iOS 8 on eBay and will never forget that indescribable feeling of accomplishment when I looked into the About section in settings. Those were the days. Not like now, kids don’t even realise how easy their lives are....

So the same procedure as every year :)
6 months breaking something and then 6 months fixing bugs......runs in circles.

  • It’s bizarre how different the experience seems to be between similar devices. My Air 2 still runs 11 as if it is a brand new iPad, no issues, good battery life and performance. :|
