  • Ebina is my favorite retro poly. I guess I have to buy again but its worth it and the the SEGA is close 2nd. I Really took to these gadgets as they seemed actually made for it (when initially on nintendo). Cheers and so happy they let iOS in on the secret!

  • Can’t believe KORG stole my concept...! :p ;)
Seriously though, KEW synth in Gadget is a great addition.

Will probably get Ebina and Otorii because I got the same ‘problem’ as @Samu

Man. Having Electribe Wave in Gadget is such a great thing.

So what can we do with Gadget now?
Import our own Samples in Abu Dhabi and Barcelona.
Tweak ourselves blue with Electribe Wave.
    Export to Ableton project.
    Midi sequence other gear.
Yes...definitely going to be a fun weekend. 🙏🏼💕

    Barcelona?

You caught the wrong plane. Your luggage is waiting for you in Bilbao. :-)

Yeah, I love the update :)

Just wish they would have brought over the 'Drums' from Electribe Wave too...
...dub it London 2 and add a separate IFX to all parts.

And well, support user samples would have been a nice touch too...

Imagine, Korg creates a 'Ableton Simpler Clone' and at the same time adds a 'Rack Gadget' (ie. a Gadget that can be used to trigger and control other Gadgets) and also adds an option to use the scenes as 'clip launchers' to record everything to a time-line :)

I still have hopes that Korg will show more love for the original iElectribe as Tokyo really can't compete with it...

Back to playing with the new toys :)

  • Thank you Korg, Electribe Wave in Gadget is an unexpected but very welcome surprise!!!
The extra wavetables are well worth getting, looking forward to playing with this later on :)

  • Anyone know how to clear midi learn transport assignments? This shit is killing me. Roli Loop block is so damn shady. Works sometimes then just stops for whatever reason.

What’s up with midi panic and clear midi learn @ioue ?

  • Korg.....out of ideas....cross marketing with other multi million dollars companies.....wow.....never thought I would say it....

but.....I think Gadget's best days are behind it.

I mean, the concern seems more on expanding platforms/customers then adding serious musical instruments or features per the request for YEARS by users.......

That that that the that that that the the the that's all folks.........

    Not even interested a little.

Just like the new $20-$30 AU effects..........

    Not interested.

Not good. I would buy EVERY APP for years.

But I feel like some new apps or features use the logic of people like me auto buying for an infinity.

    Not so much.

NOT SINCE Abu Dhabi has there been a exciting upgrade to Gadget.

    Still no audio edit?

    No AU?

I mean, I am tired of posting the requests and needs for the app.

    Korg gives not a fuck.

So, I no longer give a fuck when dealing with Gadget.

    Sad....

  • Is Electribe Wave worth purchasing? Somebody please sell me on it. Or is it more of the same? Does it have anything unique that can’t be found in the dozens of others? Anything that can’t be created in Milpitas alone?

    Thanks.

  • Got any game for how to reset midi learn for transport in Gadget @LucidMusicInc ?

This is correct. At this point, features are most important to improve Gadget’s workflow. And these key/obvious features have been requested/ignored for years. I finally accepted it not too long ago. There’s no immediate money to be made in “features”. Unfortunately, Korg has great developers, but short-sighted management and marketers.

I think it’s a great synth. Very unique in my opinion on iOS platform. Here are a bunch of sample tracks i made over the course of several months when the app first launched. Time to get back into it as they say 🙏🏼

Unfortunately SoundCloud no longer opens links correctly and takes ya to the AppStore. I’ve been seeing this happen for at least months or even a year. I’ll try to copy/paste to URL in browser.

@caspergomez - I don't really think I'd buy KEW just to get the gadget in Gadget. But damn am I happy to see it since I do already have KEW.

KEW is worth getting if you like groove boxes like the Electribes but don't want to spend the money on hardware. I like it a lot. Not as much as Groove Rider GR-16, but still I like it.

I tend not to use KEW so much because I find the sequencer a bit tedious and feel like the song mode could be better. But I have to say, every time I do pick it up, I end up with something really good. I don't miss the drums in Gadget since there are plenty of options to cover that territory there.

I had taken to sequencing KEW from Xequence 2, which works great. But having the synth in Gadget is also cool since I sequence Gadget from Xequence 2 as well.

Imma happy camper. But I already own it and I love me a good groove box. I wouldn't buy it for the synth alone though, unless it was on a good sale.

Best I can reckon is to assign it to another control and then assign that control to something else :#

C’mon, bro. I worked hard on that for you...

  • Nice update... but without Au3 support, Korg remains outside the walled garden that is my wallet.

  • Thanks for your detailed description. That’s what I figured. For sounds alone, we’ve already got everything covered in the 30 synth/key gadgets.

Feel free to show us how to do proper wavetable synthesis with the other Gadgets ;)
I mean not even the Korg hardware flagship like the Kronos does wavetable synthesis...
...so when it comes to Korg the Electribe Wave is pretty 'unique'.

Sure we can all get a bit bitter at times for lacking or missing features but the majority of the user base seems to be happy with Gadget as is?!

We really don't know what Korg is cooking and the Warszawa Gadget was pretty un-expected, sure it was vented here that it would be nice to have it as a Gadget so even if Korg doesn't reply they do monitor this forum.

Apart from a few Module IAPs my Gadget installation is 'complete' and as a source for sounds it's hard to beat...

  • This Korg Wave news is jolly good news, I’ll say. However, the timing…

I’ve just finalised (using the industry-standard value for ‘finalised’) all of my music – 10 songs – for my forthcoming album, and back late last year when I finally came back to Gadget after wasting a few months trying this new-fangled “AU” stuff (which I simply could never get working and most of the work simply kept disappearing), I also did some of the song composition on Korg Wave. I didn’t do full songs on Wave, because the sequencer isn’t as sophisticated in the way I require, so I exported patterns as audio and brought them into Gadget into the wartime tape-recorder thing.

Do I now remake the Wave patterns in Gadget natively, or leave the Wave imported audio as is? I’m inclined to the latter, especially if the results will be identical.

I've updated the link to embed the playlist direct in the view. I'm not sure I'd call the patches Boring...but to each their own. We all like a certain style, and it works well for some of the work I do. Here's the playlist link again:
    https://soundcloud.com/policarpo-wood/sets/korg-electribe-wave

And for what it's worth, I have no interest in the 2 8Bit synths...it's just not my style, but it's very cool that they're in Gadget now for people working with this style. :)

I’d say the majority of music producers don’t even know or care what wavetable synthesis is... they just want to launch an app, turn some knobs and do some light sound design and make music.

It’s wonderful that you’re one of the few users out there who relishes in the fine details of features. But for most of us, we just want to make music and we are limited in time.

I mean not even the Korg hardware flagship like the Kronos does wavetable synthesis...
...so when it comes to Korg the Electribe Wave is pretty 'unique'.

So Milpitas doesn’t do wavetable synthesis? I thought that was how it was marketed.

Sure we can all get a bit bitter at times for lacking or missing features but the majority of the user base seems to be happy with Gadget as is?!

I’m not too sure about that.

We really don't know what Korg is cooking and the Warszawa Gadget was pretty un-expected, sure it was vented here that it would be nice to have it as a Gadget so even if Korg doesn't reply they do monitor this forum.

I don’t care if they reply, I don’t expect them to. Like I’ve said repeatedly, their devs have their hands tied by short-sighted management. That’s what happens at old school companies.

Apart from a few Module IAPs my Gadget installation is 'complete' and as a source for sounds it's hard to beat...

Yeah, definitely have enough sounds, we agree on that. They need to think beyond sounds.
