  • @tja Understood....I think there is a way to do both, but the per sound download/delete is very hard based on the samples architecture and Apple's architecture. It would have to be per soundbank or category. We've already discussed it and the download per sound thing is very hard and would require an Free IAP per sound, which would mean hundreds. That would be an organization nightmare, but a middle-grown would be possible, I think...

  • Sorry if this is a daft question and I know that bass sounds are usually monophonic, but is there a polyphonic mode on this synth? I saw something in the interface that might have an option for this but can’t see if this is an option.

    It's monophonic only...

Ok, thanks for the clarification. Seems like it would be a great all-purpose synth if it had a polyphonic option.

Doh! Why didn't I think of that? That’s like the perfect solution.

  • I had to blow some stuff away to make room for this bad boy.
    Totally worth it to me.

  • 8,315 samples? I’m not quite sure what this means. Does It have these samples loaded in so that you can select them as sounds like PCM sounds on a sample based synth? I would not have thought so as this seems to be purely a synth- and it can’t be presets because they are mentioned separately?

  • This sounds quite lovely, however I am getting numerous crashes selecting presets with the next arrow as Rozeta Bassline is triggering it in AUM. iPad Pro 10.5 latest OS.

Please E-mail Crash Log in the Settings Error Logs, so we can see exactly what is going on...Thanks.

Please make a note on the specific presets that are crashing and add that when you email us.

This is awesome and I think I’m going to get a lot of use out of it. I never really did with version 1 because of the preset name not showing (seems like a silly thing but actually wasn’t) and I hated the UI.

I’ve found a couple of issues with Version 2:

    1. There seems to be a bug when playing on the internal keyboard. If I hold down a note and press another it usually plays the second one (because it’s monophonic). Sometimes (and this seems to be more common if the second note is a black note?) the app then flicks between the two and neither note really sounds. This is using the internal keyboard in standalone mode - not tried with anything else yet.

    2. The UI doesn’t fit fully into NS2 - the bottom row of knobs is cut off and you can’t scroll. Scrolling support would be the easiest fix to this.

    Thanks!

Having some issue getting it to size properly in AUM on a 10.5”. It seems to want to resize but I’m fighting with getting it large enough to not cut bottom knobs. With the right spacing it lets me start to shrink it and keeps the ratio. Just a fight to get there.

  • @GospelMusicians. Man I am loving this version! Just spent 45 minutes saving favorites. There’s so much going on. Should keep me busy for a while.
I’m also getting a bunch of crashes though. Air 2, lastest ios. I sent the log file.

  • @GospelMusicians are we getting Pure Sine? I think we need a poly version of this. Love it so far.

  • Worth the wait and the $$$ to upgrade. More bass than one man should be entitled to.

  • That demo sounds bassalicious too!

Very interesting conversations. When asked a year ago if users preferred high quality with more samples vs lower quality with less amples, it seemed as if people preferred the higher quality and sacrificed the size/space. Now it seems as if lower quality and smaller. In fact I remember specifically, that people wanted an even larger version of Neo-Soul Keys Studio than the 4GB for the high quality.......

How fast things change in a year

I’m all for the higher quality and if it requires more space on my iPad to get there, then so be it.

  • Yep. Go large. There's plenty of other apps for low space requirements.

    See: Polythemus

The sine seems pretty pure to me. I haven’t run it through a scope, but sounds very clean.

  • You can avoid crashes by stopping the transport before switching to a different preset. Had this, Neo-Soul Keys studio, Axon, Kleverb, FAC Bandit, Enso, Fugue Machine, and StepBud sequencer all going in AUM on an iPad Air 2 at 512k latency.

Some presets seem more DSP intensive than others.

Lil’ problem with the scaling in AudioBus. The bottom is cut off. Most apps that are like this are able to scroll by dragging on an area not occupied by a control. It’d be better if it scaled, but scrolling is OK too.

[Edit] Same problem in NS2 except it’s worse. Can’t even get to the controls at the bottom.

(P.S. Didja’ have to be all cute and make the BASS out of focus? I’ll learn to ignore it, but ... ech, my eyezzz. :s 😂 )

Yes. They can be loaded into each of the four oscillators. It seems like they’re samples with loop points set. They play, then loop seamlessly while sustaining.

  • How do you reduce the size of the on-screen keyboard so you can access the controls under it?

  • I tried PolyThemus driving 4 Bassalicious 2's and it didn't work as hoped.
The sounds didn't layer but they create even with just 2 voices some loud
noisy artifacts even when using sweet sine wave tones.

I think the AUv3 implementation prevents running 2 or more based on some buffer that
2 or more instances fight over.

Wait for someone to figure out how to get 2-4 clean signals before buying
if you're expecting to layer them for polyphony.

Just a heads up. As a Monophonic Bass it's really nice as the video indicates.
It's easy to find a Preset to inspire a project. Phat. Really fills a need for me.

Thank you @GospelMusicians - great sounding instrument!
I have experienced the following issues when running Bassalicious 2 as AU in Beatmaker 3:

    • the bottom part of the UI is not visible, like others have reported for other hosts
    • At least in Beatmaker 3 (AU), there is the sample rate conversion issue like for example in Syntronik, where the sound is out of tune. I didn't test in other hosts yet.
      (I'm using a 3rd gen iPad Pro 12.9)
  • @GospelMusicians

Sorry to hijack this thread... If I remember correctly, when NeoSoulKeys came out, there were some posts about a GospelMusicians drum app being in development? Is there still something in the pipeline?

Btw, Bassalicious 2.0 is awesome. For me it's simply the best bass app to date.

  • You've outdone yourselves!
absolutely the best bass , bar none. So glad I immediately jumped on this one. Basilicious 1 was underutilized in my setup , good app and easy to program but I had so much else competing for attention.
2 is a whole other level ..desktop class, flagship ..
    love it
