Sorry if this already has been discussed, but I get no sound from Bassalicious when using it as an AU in Garageband.

Sorry, just saw it fixed in the upcoming update!

    Any ideas?

Update pending approval. Probably within 48-hours.

For AUv3 sizing, you may not be able to get 100% full size. Literally every AUv2 hosting app needs special tweaking and programming, because every developer ads their own "twist" to the AUv3, so we will make it as compatible and useable as possible.

Apple made a standard and developers who “knew better” took it upon themselves to do something different and now we have this hot android-esque mess. Please just use the Apple resizing API’s in future apps and let the chips fall where they need to fall.

Hmm. I need to read up on this again as I remember it not being quite so clear cut for all of us who are not using GarageBand. I think those developers who “knew better” improved AU compatibility with all of the other iOS DAWs whereas Apple only focused on GarageBand maybe? Probably a good discussion for its own thread...

Hi I know this will be obvious but I can’t seem to find how to save a preset ?

Heh, that tripped me up a little at first too. First tap the User Presets library, then add a bank. Once you have a bank, the + button will be available for adding presets.

    Roger that ! Thanks

Nope, but not worth re-rehashing. The damage is irreversible anyway.

Right. I found one of the threads talking about it. Not exactly clear cut like I thought. https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/24853/fac-maxima-1-2-auv3-universal-released/p1

Yes you are absolutely right. It’s not clear cut — because it got fucked up unnecessarily

  • Some users reported that some presets are extremely high in AUv3. Please send email to our support so we know which presets have high CPU - https://gospelmusicians.com/contact_us/

Also, I've been reading numerous threads and forum posts about 2018 iPad Pros and CoreAudio issues causing high CPU. Has this already been addressed by Apple in an iOS update? We don't have a 2018 iPad to test on...just older models.

  • @GospelMusicians Still a bit funky with the resize. You can battle with it to get it to take up most of the screen but it takes a bit of work.

  • The vertical resizing makes it full screen and it's large enough for any type of editing. It is impossible with the tools we have to make our AUv3 compatible with all DAWs and have 100% full screen. This is because other DAWS (Not naming any names), put a little bar at the bottom of the sizing that cuts off the bottom controls. So what other devs have decided to do to combat this, is to allow scrolling of the entire interface. We opted against this, because allowing scrolling adds other bugs related to the effects rack and is a nightmare. Just our opinion, which doesn't mean much, if all devs would adhere to the same AUv3 Standard, this would be much easier, but we have to program for 5-6 different AUv3 flavors all at once....

See attached.....These controls should be large enough to do any amount of editing possible.....

  • Yeah this resizing is a bit funky. Seems to be a challenge because it’s a square rather than a rectangle? Also, maybe it should be centered instead of off to the side? Seems like the ability to scroll (the way the sugarbytes apps do) would be the best solution... but I’m not sure how easy that is to implement.

We'll look into it more, but this was the middle ground to both worlds at one time.

  • still kills GarageBand with with both bass apps being used at the same time. Since I can’t move the sounds from the first app to the second version I have to have the first app. Is there anyway that sounds can be moved from the bass 1 app to the bass 2 app so I don’t have to use both keep crashing?

If you are getting crashing, then Please send Crash Logs to our support. Go to the Settings Menu and Send Crash Logs, so we can see why it's crashing.

Currently, there is no way to transfer custom BASS 1 Presets to BASS 2. We've already converted the original factory from BASS 1 and they are already included in BASS 2.

  • I get some serious crack and pop on certain patch. “Finger round soft” being one of them.

    iPad Pro 10.5
    iOS 12.2

It’s a preset with the spring Reverb engaged. Deactivate the Spring Reverb and check.

Yes it did fix the problem. Thank you @GospelMusicians

  • @GospelMusicians hi very nice app. I just updated it though and all of my favourites have disappeared. Is there some way of recovering them, as I spent half a day going through all the presets and organising favourites. There's no way I could do all the that again.

Open up both apps. Open up the AUv3 and the standalone. The scripture should converge to all presets.

If this doesn’t work, please send log file.

It doesn't matter if there is a crash. We added extensive logging to log all important aspects of the program and not just crashing. Please add a note in the email to designate who you are and what the log is for. We get other support emails and we want to know what the log is for when you send emails so the other techs know what it is.

There's no bassalicious 2 file there only bassalicious1? There's an analytics file dated 2018 11 08. You want that one?

  • @GospelMusicians, I almost missed this one as I thought it was a compendium of funk (not that that’s a bad thing) but after five minutes playing I can see you are covering all the basses 😜 with this great app.
The SoundTestRoom video also sold me. This is a valuable addition to every iOS toolbox and greatly appreciated. While iFretless bass has a great acoustic patch, I think your app will provide a lot more creative juice. A great accomplishment and thank you!

Your tip about cutting effects on presets to avoid cpu overload is invaluable. Everybody should know about that.
