  • @LinearLineman Thanks so much buddy....Much appreciated!

  • Your apps are consistently great for sound quality and playability, they set the bar very high. I thought bassalicious 1.0 was already excellent, but 2.0 sounds better still, neo soul keys likewise. Thanks for your dedication.

  • You bet, @GospelMusicians. I just added some Bassaliciousness to my comment and posted a review. I hope others will as well. Deserved!

Btw, how is Tines different from NSKs? I am hoping a bit thicker and purer. NSK is great but sometimes I am looking for less noise and dirt, seeking more immediacy and presence. Probably could do better with NSK if I knew what I was doing. I often stack two EPs from NSK and it's very good, indeed.

  • The new version will allow automatic stacking and you to choose any oscillator. I think the EQ'ing would help a lot. By nature an electromechanical instrument is dirty, but Eq'ing in the upper mids and highs will bring out more presence.

Still having problems with Bassalicious and Garageband: I can‘t record Bassalicious‘ output in GB.
I start recording in GB, play something, but nothing is recorded ( no MIDI notes, no sound ).

    Any ideas?

GarageBand doesn't record any midi from any AUv3 Plug-In...
Might be worth using the GarageBand keyboard to play & record the AUv3.

Actually GarageBand does record MIDI from Auv3 that support MIDI out. Two examples are Model 15 and Ruismaker.

  • MIDI Out from Virtual Keyboard coming in next versions.

  • it's about to be an early Christmas for everyone that uses the iPad as a hardware sound module with their other external hardware gear.

Also I noticed mono legato doesn’t work when using GB keyboard...is that by design?

  • I’m curious why Bassalicious 2 keyboard midi out is useful. If I want a keyboard plugin, I’m gonna load up something a lot lighter weight than Bassalicious 2, and it’s going to be way more configurable. Maybe I’m missing some usage idea?

I'm not so much into the keyboard in the app itself having midi out as I am about all of the controls on the face of the app including the keyboard being able to have their tweaking recorded into any of my external sequencers and played back.

Can anyone confirm that assigning CCs to control B2’s parameters as an AU (in AB3) doesn’t result in crashes? Had this issue with the first Bassalicious and I don’t want a repeat. Thanks

Yep...got the graphics done. Jus wanted to get the iPad out first, but the iPhone GUI and controls are pretty much done.

I bought it as couldn’t resist the sale price. I’ll wait patiently now until the iPhone version is out :)

    No problems here.

We fixed this in version 2.2.4

  • @GospelMusicians. What happened to all my presets? They were gone when I opened the app after the update.

Open up both the AUv3 and the standalone. It needs to merge both. It should merge them once you open up both.

Same happened to me. Merging didn’t work. They’ve gone and heard nothing back after sending in a log to support.

Is your issue presets or Favorites?

Please send log, but send with explanation. If you just send the log, then we won’t know what to specifically look for.

Send new log and make sure you write on the SAME email the issues.

We’ve tested this feature extensively and it worked for us.

My issue is with favourites having all disappeared. Not clear how merging would work as I had never used the app as an AUV3 before the update. So there would be nothing for the standalone and auv to merge with once the favourites got deleted from the standalone after the update. I emailed with details both in the subject header and wrote an email to accompany the log. I have received no response as of a week or so.

  • @Treesarenice We are working on recovering Faborites. An update may be in the works. The dev is looking into it. No need to send logs.

@Ben In recent updates we fixed the ability to recover presets as favorites stored in Standalone and AUv3 were not merged. Open both apps to merge and unify presets. We tested this several times and it worked for us. If opening both apps and scrolling presets didn’t work, then please send log file with simple explanation of the issue.

If you just send a log without explanation, we don’t know what to look for.

Yeah, the latest update nuked all my favourites, which I'd spent a bit of time choosing, so that was a bummer. :/

Same here. Hope they come home someday.

I’m really sorry. I typed presets but meant favorites. Yeah my favorites are indeed gone.
So should we not bother saving any until you put in a fix or will we be able to retrieve them?

  • Great update! Scrolling works perfectly for me. Update also says favorites are recovered for those who were having issues with them.

  • Yep much better with resizable gui :)

  • On sale.
