I think the idea of tens of thousands of day trippers from England (they don’t necessarily have to be English, they may be French, or Welsh, or even Brummies), being able to drive into Wales and have a nice day out, with a picnic - when locals in Wales (they don’t necessarily have to be Welsh, they could be English, or French, or even Brummies) can’t even walk outside of their own locality for a short burst of exercise, has raised a few eyebrows. The world DIDN'T shut down as these jagoff's claim. No one stopped these people from leaving their homes. The groceries have been open since the start and there was traffic on the streets. It's making crumbs into a mountain. They use the same logic with gun control, if you stop assault weapons sales the "slippery slope" will claim all the guns. I'm starting to believe we are in the era of shock & awe politics. It used to be you could scream weird during a rally and your entire campaign would implode (Howard Dean). It's gotten to where everything Trump says is so obnoxious, false, petty, berating and insane nothing can stick. Every 12 hours there's another tweet just as or even more outrageous than the last. And the media, his cult and the IQ80+ world just gets numbed down...
The most startling metric I saw was out of 30 hours of White House Coronavirus press briefings last month Trump spent just 4 MINUTES expressing empathy, condolences and the GOP fav "thoughts & prayers". He spent almost 12 hours though arguing with reporters, insulting his critics and putting himself over.
What little faith I had in the nation at large is gone and I think after 3+ years of preparation if Joe Biden, who I like and respect, is our big hope we are in trouble of seeing another 4 years of this insanity... that's even IF the election even transpires.
And, by the way, yes a mask/face covering may not save you from infection BUT it will considerably bring down the chances of asymptomatic people from passing it on if they cough or sneeze or talk loudly with spittle, etc. The great irony is the goobers in the red hats snickering at people wearing masks are the people who the masks are protecting.

I had another ‘Boris is doing a good job’ post shared by one of my Facebook ‘friends’ (soon to be ex-friend) yesterday. I looked at the original post, full of lies, and read through the hundreds of comments below. A number of people were pointing out the mistakes Johnson had made, in a polite, respectful way. They were faced with a barrage of aggressive, badly spelled offensive responses. The polite disagreements were usually from older women, the angry responses from shaven headed middle aged men defending the propaganda. Big bullies, swearing and threatening pension age women with violence for having a different point of view. Albeit one based on facts, rather than hate.
The virus will never go away. Climate change will never be reversed.
