  • @kobamoto My point is that this 'chemical X' that you spoke of exists in everyone. It boils down to the choices that they make. Folks employed at the foodbank were often called 'saints.' Taking home several shopping bags full of donated food every night is not saintly. "But I'm poor too" is a weak excuse.

Much seems to boil down to self-interest and how we deal with it (and why). As the man said; t'was ever thus.

I agree with you about the excuse, but disagree that they were good people just because they worked at the foodbank, I think good and bad people work everywhere, I think the people who worked or volunteered there that did not do those things were the good people.

seeing too much about price gouging, evictions and the like.... I thought there were legislative provisions put in place just now for kind of thing....... oh, I guess I wasn't supposed to take that stuff seriously....
I still believe the people deserve the government we get but I also believe the government deserves the people it gets as well.

  • That's why I put 'good people' in quotes. Just depends. The news people in their reports liked to call them saints. Plus the homeless ladies too.

  • So apparently Bill Gates owns the CDC, a government agency? 🤔

  • Good morning all,

    Putting this out there.

If you know anyone who is involved in media,
health services and manufacturing or can get
word to the right people please do.

There is no patent, no request for money, no Kickstarter.

It is practical knowledge which could save lives.

    Thank you in advance.

It's a bizarre train of logic: Fauci should be fired, because Bill Gates owns the CDC, so Fauci must be profiting enormously from the pandemic...

There isn't a shred of evidence to back up any of these claims. They are utterly and obviously false, but these kinds of narratives are commonplace on the US right. It's a worldview completely detached from reality, and that is genuinely dangerous, because once you persuade your followers to deny reality you're just staring into the abyss.

Ron Paul is no better than QAnon, he's pushing similar evidence-free conspiracies. And people are lapping this up unquestioningly.

Oh - and of course it's because of shit like this that Fauci now needs extra security 🙄

Media report the facts? That's laughable. I'm apolitical, and even I can see that. That's just my opinion.

just out of curiosity how did people describe being A-Political before the phrase was coined?

Well, I'm 61. It's been that way as far back as I can remember.

has the meaning changed at all for you during this time, sometimes I see people use the term to mean they don't care about politics and sometimes to mean that politics doesn't affect them, maybe there are other meanings, personally I believe we are all connected regardless of choice.

I totally get being tired of the trump bashing, but I don't think he's as tired of lying to the American people as people are of the bashing.... thing is he could kill two birds with one stone and stop the lying and the bashing in a single stroke.

No, the meaning has not changed for me. I believe in service to others and love for all things. I believe this is more important than politics. Trump, Pelosi, etc. are slaves to money. I don't even believe they are at the top of the controlling food chain. They are most likely pawns. I usually get blasted for my beliefs, but I do have free will.
On a side note, I lived in China for five years. Totally different perspective. The one thing I learned is that we all do not have to think the same, which is actually contrary to socialist belief. I don't have to be a slave to politics.
More importantly, why is AUM messing up some of my MPE synths! lol

  • @fritzm: in my opinion, people opting out of the political process results in their having less influence on the decisions that get made. Heck if a handful more people had voted in both 2000 and 2016, we would have avoided some major disasters. Sure, both parties are deeply imperfect -- but, different. For democracy to work at all requires participation.

  • And looks like lots more to come going by this!

the right wing is cuckoo for coco puffs literally hahaha you'd think if they could muster this much outrage over Fauci that the fact that Trump tried to own the vaccine like a super villain would make their heads spontaneously combust but nooooo that would make too much sense, the funniest part is that they think this is actually how credibility works...

I'd trust Bill gates over Ron Paul and his son any day of the week and twice as much on Sunday.

definitely concur on slavery, slavery is just such a no no..
as far as politics though whether it's in china or in America it affects peoples everyday lives, I see no need to live in denial of that and even if I did the politics that I live under wouldn't do me the same favor and live in denial of me, it would continue to plague me with it's various intentions.

    but..

the universe is trying to balance out the most recent two plagues so there is cause for celebration, first Trump was elected and then Hermutt Lobby announced that they are going to implement sample import into the Playground app
then the corona virus hit, but Marcos Alonso has implemented new samplr updates.

Some would take these events lightly but I know it's the universe trying to correct these imbalances :) we can only hope that it succeeds.

OK. When do you guess it will drop? Hopefully, before I do. On balance that seems fair.
If I had to get Drambo while we waiting and there was akiller bug out there with my name on it I'd have gone totally postal. So... don't set expectations if it's another developer slipping out clues way in advance to a small group of co-conspirators.

You better have a good reply or I'm putting you in the "ignore" box. Not sure hw that works yet... but you'll be my guinea pig.

Trump bashing gets very old and tired, to me. It is naive to believe he makes all of the decisions anyway. Media is the problem, IMO.

No, media is not the problem. That's falling for the talking points. What is "media" anyway? News and reporters aren't the probelm - they're reporting on the facts as best as possible. The facts just suck for many, like Trump (who, incidentally, wouldn't know a fact if it hit him in his face). Opinion and entertainment can be problematic, especially when in masquerades as news. Lumping the two together doesn't benefit anyone but those who want to control the narrative, because it automatically equates facts with opinion, and makes both meaningless. One of those (facts, to be clear), is decidedly NOT meaningless - but those who want to control the narrative want you to think that, and become conditioned to hearing it, and start thinking it yourself.

Please note: I'm not mentioning any specific network, newspaper, etc. etc. in the above.

    But now I will.

FOX really helped destroy things. It started blurring the lines a lot more strongly than any network ever had - and it worked, because people found opinion more entertaining than facts. So more people watch. So then the other networks had to follow suit or go out of business. Is it FOX that's at fault, or the audience? I'd say mostly FOX, but definitely the audience, too. But, yes, CNN, MSNBC, and many others blur the line now (FOX more than most, and the most often).

Media report the facts? That's laughable. I'm apolitical, and even I can see that. That's just my opinion.

You didn't get anything I wrote. I probably wasn't clear.

lol... well basically Samplr hadn't been updated in some time, but it's being updated now and the updates are going swimmingly, hopefully you're enjoying the app and will continue to do so, Samplr is no drambo but Drambo is no SampLR for sure!

  • Hey Trump Christians please don't take this the wrong way, just a fellow christian here, non-Trump albeit but I'm just curious cause allot of you don't believe in social distancing so I wanted to ask in your bible, in the book of proverbs does it say 'they rod and thy staff comfort thee' or does it say since you believe in god you don't need to carry protection and don't need to stay your *ss at home :D ?

  • Americans are amazing people. with one foot standing in the grave you do not stop trying to bite your neighbor. I see how the last words before the death of some guys will be: Trump sucks or America first or chinese and russians are to blame .

It does qualify as a decent rant. Good rants are grounded in overgeneralization, oversimplification and an excess of over exaggerations. It's wise when they are NOT underhanded, underwhelming and under arrest.

Rants can be cathartic but some are just fun.
