  • Did u notice though at the end of the video that it didn't really sound hundred percent certain whether the ios app was coming after all. It sounded like it might be contingent on how well the vst does.

  • 15 mins ago I didn’t need anything new. Now I want that osc, piano and sensel morph.

  • So this will pair good with mononoke ;)

Oh I hadn't gotten there yet; we'll have to wait. Honestly I know we have a ton of tools that can somehow replicate this, but there's something to be said about this when he's willing to part with the real equipment.

I'd really recommend trying out playing MPE with any of the existing apps on an ipad before going for the Morph. Sure you can't replicate the feel of the individual keys or use pressure, but I think that it's a good stepping stone between a traditional keyboard and the Morph and can give you an indication if "upgrading" to it would make sense or not.

  • Exactly. Just get velocity keyboard and play it through that. I often end up choosing it over my seaboard blocks just for handiness, and often actually prefer the velocity response in vk!

Yes, it seems so. I like the sounds but, as with Mononoke, I don't like the constrains of not being able to play the notes I want to play. Neither Mononoke nor this are my cup of tea.

@NoiseFloored, @Gavinski, sorry, it was I joke about typical gearslutting like "I need that last app and I can make music". It's funny because a friend of mine got Expressive Touche and felt in love with it almost immediately, but a few months later he is barely using it. Anyway thanks for keeping head cool, I will blow away dust from KB-1 or Animoog.

  • @lazyass no worries! The fact that I didn't realize it was joke may say something about me not having any self-control in the past

  • Ah haha. Good 😝

  • I will be getting this app for my iPad when it’s released. Wonderful sounds and options to use them.

more vst ports to ios please

  • @klownshed a bit late to the party, there is about a page of discussion on this already, but thanks for sharing anyway 😂😝

haha never mind :-) scrolled through and missed this particular video on the other page.

  • scala import! :)

  • Is it confirmed? iOS coming?

  • @Gavinski From playing with it a bit yesterday, scala makes it quite easy to get conventionally musical results, actually. Unlike typical drone synths, it also has tons of ways to get voices to come in and out (between the gain modulator, the envelope section, and the option of mpe control.) So it’s not just for sustaining clusters.

I was on the fence about buying it mainly because I also want to buy VolBot from the same dev. But I might get fundamental first if only because of the sale. It’s the kind of tool that makes you think differently. And the superpowers of the modulators can be unlocked with a surprisingly low learning curve if you’re just going by ear. (Ok, it also makes me want to brush up on the different types of stochastic distributions, but that feels entirely optional.)

  • Excellent, thnx for the report back. I would be tempted to check out the demo on desktop but I’ve got more than enough other stuff to keep me occupied. Musical is good! Maybe it will be @despego ’s cup of tea after all

  • Desktop Version

  • To be quite honest all of their apps look amazing!!! I am currently saving for a new mac book and I might just stop eating for a month to get it sooner so that I can explore those Cosmosƒ apps. And just imagine, you don't have to do this in drambo because some genius already programmed it :-)

  • You’re tempting my to have a look at more of his stuff even though it is desktop. This is seriously not a good idea, my wallet is saying.

  • Haven’t tried cosmosf, only the bots. The one caveat about them is that they aren’t the most polished feeling or best documented. But they do what they do extremely well, and nothing else does what they do as well and as quickly in a DAW.

  • @Gavinski Come join me in starving myself for a couple of months then
I could imagine you would love his other apps.
I haven't been up to date with desktop apps for a long time. Is soundhack still around?
@ohwell I really wish there was a 300 page manual for the function apps that I could read right now! With lots of tiny screen shots!

  • Well, guess what guys, I was just chatting to him on YouTube now, and he says he is planning to port the bot apps to ios

You mean, @ohwell that one can play melodies without being bound to the frequencies in the oscillators?

    🍆🍆🍆💦💦💦

  • Is the confusion about the iOS version settled? Did Hainbach confirm it?

Wow, I just came across that crazy LFO and filter. I never saw anything like that. May I ask did you test them on PC/Mac. I'm interested in how these bots useful in everyday production. I hope to put them on the test next weekend, but now I may only guess

Melodies, yes; without being bound to the frequencies of the oscillators, yes and no.

The easiest way to play melodies is to set the 8 oscillators to the notes of the melodies, and to play the melody with those notes.

However, throw the phenomenal pitch modulation capabilities, and scala quantization opens the door to multiple (though non-standard) ways of generating melodies with more than 8 notes.
