    I am waiting especially for AUv3 to iM1 :)

Yes! Sounds good, versatile, runs well on older hardware.

  • Updated with a new iap:

......which also apparently works in Gadget (Fairbanks).

EDIT: Plus: Nice sounds. Minus: Wish there were more.

    Great sounds in this expansion.

Furthermore, the battery drain issue seems to have been addressed :

  • i have the the module free...
if i buy pro do you get the new lofi house expansion or still need to buy it?

The Lo-Fi House is a new IAP so, yep you'd have to buy it.

cool! imma get it and stay with the free version then ty

  • All Module’s IAP seem to be 50% off right now. Right ?

  • Really like the new lofi house pack and very nice to see some improvement on the battery drain. My phone gets a lot less hot now when I’m using it

Check this for breakdown on sales

    https://www.korg.com/us/news/2020/1119/

*actually it doesn’t show how much is discounted, just the sale price. But from looking at it most seem to be around 50% off

  • Since the last release, my presets are changed and I cannot save presets in the right state any longer. Did anybody else notice that also ?

  • Is the module Performance Expansion included in the Pro version?

I’m still unclear on what it actually does for me in the context of using it inside AUM for midi mapping.

Do I need this expansion on top of the instrument to map parameters in AUM or does this expansion just give me the ability to midi learn inside the instrument (ie without using AUM’s midi control)

  • @soundtemple, no, it’s an in app allowing splits and layers with a few instruments. Check the Module store for full description

  • @LinearLineman Yeah aside from the things you mention it offers MIDI CC learn. So its an IAP but do I need it to midi map controls inside AUM? The parameters are exposed by mapping to them seems to do nothing?

Are you sure you didn't load up the IAA/Standalone version vs. the AUv3 version?

No, I am just referring to the standalone mode. When I load my Ivory presets, all settings are reinitialized. If you change some EQ values, save the preset, move and come back to your previously saved preset, then the EQ values are all set to zero. At least, it’s the behavior I have with Ivory expansion.
I did not try with other instruments.
I am pretty sure that this issue wasn’t there just before the last update.

@Paulo164 Did a quick check in Module Pro stand-alone and can confirm.
Tried the piano and synth (Glasgow) modules and after switching some presets both play the last selected factory preset instead of the user preset.
Hybrid user programs are saved and loaded fine.

Other question, do you notice less battery drain with this update? (Module standalone) I think I do.

    Thanks 👍
Regarding the battery drain issue : yes, I think it’s much better. I only lost 2% of battery while Korg Module was running 45 minutes in the background. Before the last update, it was maybe 20%.

I can confirm that Module does lack some of the features of Module Pro unless they are unlocked by connecting a Korg hardware controller (whereafter they are permanently unlocked).
It wasn’t an issue for me as I have a microkey air and nanokontrol so I still went for the free version as I have no need or desire for the organ, piano and EP sounds.
I did want the synth, hybrid and clav sounds so I only saved £5 compared to getting Pro, but I also don’t have valuable disc space taken up with sounds I don’t need.

I keep seeing documentation about this, but how do you go about doing it? Once Module is installed and you connect a Korg controller which keyboards/sounds does it unlock?

Unlocks a couple extra presets (in my case it crucially unlocked one of the clav tab combinations which otherwise is only available in Pro) and some other functionality (can’t remember exactly what but I think a few extra MIDI and/or split functions). If you happen to have a Korg controller it takes 5mins to do, and once done you don’t need to do it again.

    @TimRussell cool thank u

  • I just bought Cinematic pack and Hybrid Synth pack 2.
The "hybrid" synth behind these 2 packs is truly powerful and refreshing. We can hear the use of resonators, oscillators and LFOs.
Does anybody knows if Korg has ever released the software or hardware allowing this kind of sounds ? I would jump on the standalone app if one day Korg were to release it for iOS.

  • @Paulo164 Yes the Hybrid/Fairbanks engine is great. It’s got VA, FM, Ringmod, Additive, Samples and more?
Don’t know if Korg has similar sounds in hardware, perhaps Kronos.
Would be great if they’d release the entire engine as separate app, but I’m happy with new iAP packs every now and than. That probably makes it financially interesting for Korg too. Win-win.

  • Korg has extended their Holiday Sale so who knows, maybe we'll get more goodies before X-mas?

There it was, just in front of me. I was under the parasol in the garden, the sun hitting the back of the ipad (seems a strange thing to type now, it’s about 3° out!)

Ah, I noticed my iPhone X is fine in sunlight, but my iPad washes out.
