No violence in the streets. No Civil War. But the groceries are out of toilet paper and you can’t find a sheet of plywood anywhere. Perhaps, contrary to the conspiracy theorists, past is not prologue, but prologue is past.
You can rant about this or that. How and why it all happened. But isn’t one story as good as another? Doesn’t change happen now? The past can never change. What good are the conspiracy theories about the fall of Troy? Or why the Hittites suddenly disappeared? Or that Rome collapsed because of lead in the pipes?
Is it to prove that people lie? Man is the only animal who lies. I thought we all knew that. Yet the conspiracy theorist wants to shock. They’re lying to us! Things are not as they seem! The real enemy is never who you think it is! Gosharootie... I never thought of that! Thanks for the insight!

And what does the conspiracy theorist deal in? Truth? Hardly. The truth is disposable, malleable, subjective, sophistic. Study mathematics if you seek truth. At the root of history, sociology, religion and yes, conspiracy theory, is FEAR. This least common denominator, terror, is indivisible and, for the human psyche, the only absolute and universal “truth” we can ever count on to work exactly the same in every situation. It is our reaction to FEAR that sets one human apart from another. That engenders the noblest spirit or the most craven cowardice.
The conspiracy theorist does not want to “change” anything. Because, almost by definition, conspiracies, like nesting Russian dolls, beget more conspiracies. The reveling is in the unmasking, but the unmasking simply reveals another mask. This is why it is a useless endeavor for amateurs like we have seen here.
Conspiracy theories should not, IMO, be confused with journalistic efforts that expose what actually happened. There can be be a concrete result... a murderer caught, fraud and corruption revealed and punished. The painstaking assemblage of verifiable evidence.
Where is the result of, say, the WTC conspiracy? Or the Kennedy assassination? Or, as mentioned, FDR’s foreknowledge of Pearl Harbor? Will there ever be “justice”? Unlikely, even if it is justifiable. So, IMO, the only valid perspective is to examine the motives of those who use conspiracies as a tool with one bit... FEAR. I posit the true motivation is for their own pleasure and profit. For the pleasure of manipulating weak minds (thru FEAR) and the profit of feeling superior to those who are “too stupid” to see.
Put all that shite up against what the flawed Joe Biden said tonight... (paraphrased)

Hope lies in the future, not in the past. And it is enacted in the present. Conspiracy theories lead nowhere, are rooted in the past and trade in FEAR not hope.
But today we were given cause for hope. No conspiracy theory can do that.

When someone starts telling you that they are the sole arbiter of truth and their support is conspiracy theories with the proviso that all the media and all the scientists are in on it, there is nothing to be said. They will tell you that you are a dupe no matter what evidence you supply because they will tell you that your evidence is just a part of the conspiracy that they can see through.
There is no win in arguing with them ... there may be a benefit in documenting evidence for other people that might find the random sources the conspiracist intriguing.
Note: if you know actual scientists and journalists, you will also know that the notion of their being so universally co-opted isn’t plausible.. particularly scientists. Getting them all to participate in the vast conspiracies suggested defies credulity. Some maybe...but the overwhelming majority...not likely.
Sure, the U.S. intelligence services have done some pretty shady things. So, I am no apologist for them but the notion that 911 and COVID are products of U.S. intelligence is hardly credible.
