Page 44 of the manual has an entry for CC Map, which lets you save your control settings. However, my actual settings page doesn’t have that. Anyone else missing it? Am I overlooking something?

It is also missing from screenshot on pg. 41 of manual.

That is strange. I see them and I'm on 1.0.1. Are you sure that you have apps running in the background? If you have AUM running, you should see it. If not, then you will not see it. (see my screenshots from an earlier post)

What version iOS? I'm on 13.7. Maybe it's iOS 14 related.

I'm running iPadOS 14.2. MIDI DESTINATIONS appears (to me) in Egoist and Thesys.

Sorry, I don't understand. We're talking about midi destinations for other apps showing in DC. They will only show if the apps are running.

Drum Computer showing up in other apps as a midi destination is a different thing. That means that those apps can send to DC through its virtual midi port. This is for destinations that DC can send to, not the other way around.

Sorry if I'm misunderstanding you. This is getting confusing.

  • Yeah I guess that's copied from desktop but not in iOS
You could always save AU parameter templates as AUM presets. if you send feedback they might put it in a later version though. :)

What’s the situation for those of you with the newer iPads? Drum Computer runs on an Air2 and you can have a few others on the go - but not to many.

    What is the DSP showing?
Can you run Drum Computer alongside say Gadget and Groovebox all with effects in their channels and maybe even more? Or is that too much?
    Can you give some idea?
    Thanks

I hope Sugar Bytes can understand my report!

What I'm referring to is the DESTINATIONS section, like the one below from Thesys.

As @Vibes71 screenshot shows, this section is missing from (our) DrumComputer.

    iPad Air 3 256gb IPadOS 13.7

Newer ipads can handle this no problem. I honestly don't see where you would need more than 2 instances, since that gives you 16 tracks. But wanted to show how many it could run without crashing alongside gadget and Module.

Can you first start AUM, then start DC, then go to the settings in DC and tell me if you see AUM or not?

Sorry if it seems like I'm being pushy. I don't mean to. I'm only trying to get to the bottom of why I see these destinations and you do not.

    dang that ran smooth 🤣

the issue i come across is when i open an instance of dc to edit it while a host and other apps are running, mega crackles. i’ve only really tested in ns2 with two factorys and tal u and one dc tho, aum is lighter

I'll try that setup, give me a sec.

  • I notice the CLAP sound randomizer profile doesn’t generate anything I would ever identify as a hand clap. Usually it sound like a cymbal or metallic percussion. Is it working as intended?

Network Session should appear regardless, but the entire DESTINATIONS section is missing from (our) DrumComputer.

Below is Thesys with a Network Session and an AUM Egoist. But still, no DESTINATIONS in DrumComputer.

Right I think this is a 14.2 issue, on my Air 2 (ios 14.2) it's missing too, but on 13.7 it's there.
AUv3 should still be fine though.

Btw you can still use it because from some apps the port is still visible from other apps so you can use a midi router (like in AUM)

Thanks. iOS version? If you're on iOS 14 then maybe their quick-fix for the crashing problem was just to remove midi out altogether for iOS 14 peeps.

@Carnbot - As far as I can tell, the 'Drum Computer' midi source port never did anything, even on 13.7. I always had to use 'AUM Destination'.

I never used it so far to be honest, but it does show all my midi inputs and outputs of my midi interface on 13.7
On 14.2 it shows sources but not destinations, so yeah maybe they removed to fix crashes for now.

I'm noticing this too and getting approx 1 "clap-ish" sound per 4 or 5 Randomizer taps. Even then I'm getting more "alt-snare" style sounds than claps proper but I don't mind this at all. It's okay if one can semi disregard the clap graphic and one solve is load favorite claps (and kicks if those are an issue) to the Sample slots.

Not sure what that translates to but I usually set it to 256. Some apps can go 128, but some can't so I usually stay at 256.

  • No difference when I change to high or very low on this project in NS2. 🤷🏾‍♂️

I say it is incredible. The sounds I can create are vast for each drum, and by tweaking a knob or two I can get that sound to be a in a completely different realm. As far as the comments saying it sounds flat and such, I respectfully disagree. The kicks I'm getting are fantastically thick and meaty, and I get to tweak and layer stuff easily. I have Beatmaker 3 and find it tedious, and I want to love Drambo and find it about as fun as IKEA furniture building. Patterning comes close, because the sequencing is so fun, but building kits of your own isn't. Drum Computer is a 10 out of 10 for me. Pure sugar.

But hey, that's just my take.

    +1
