A restart fixed it, I should have known. Thanks.
Thanks - I am using the mapping zones as a workaround. It works fine this way, but is a little bit more work. Nothing inherently wrong with this approach, of course. I suppose it may even be a bit more flexible in some respects.
Apps, democracies, rained-out cricket matches...
@ehehehe Sorry , did not want to steal your time with my post while beeing busy with DC. Hope you will get great results.
have you been to this thread.. https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/41839/drumcomputer-creation-thread#latest
Not to discount any of the great developers here... But, this app really showcases the power of the iPad for music creation...App of the year...
...App of the year...
TAKE IT BACK!
Seriously.. Got to give it up for Sugar Bytes...
+1
i just wish you could chain more than 16 patterns per preset, or make each step in the have repeats, when trying to build an intro 16 goes fast then there’s nothing left for the main part of the song.
someone please tell me you can do this and how 😎
You’re absolutely right @RajahP. This app is deep and powerful but you have to commit time to learning it. I spent a half hour with an imported sample and got crazy stuff just scratching the surface. I really like it! 😎👍🏼
Yeah would like to see more sequencer options, but you could sequence patterns with an external sequencer too. I also wish each pattern could have different time divisions per track, but the track time divisions change across all patterns.
i haven’t tried external sequencing, ugh i don’t wanna hahaha but perhaps there’s no other way
Right I've watched some videos, played with the free demo, got distracted buy a cheap 909 and now I'm hovering over the purchase button.... ....but I know this will only ever be useful to me if it's sequencer reliably outputs midi data to a DAW timeline.
Can any users, now that we're a few days in, confirm that this works? Happy to do patterns one at a time so don't care about any lack of song mode in DC or limitations of chaining patterns
I use Cubasis.
Huge thanks in advance.
It's great for live sequencing and jamming with different patterns via midi hardware. I find this is my preferred way to use it. But yeah some more options would be nice for the internal pattern/repeats etc
Does anyone know how the Remix/ Auto CC Assignment Table works?
The manual says “This MIDI CC list gives an overview of all continuous controllers and which action they are assigned to.”
However, sending those messages doesnt seem to do what they are assigned to. They don’t move anything in the GUI. Some sound like nothing is happening others sound like something is going on but not necessarily what the table says it does.
The press and hold midi learn works fine, as does AUM midi control mappings, but this is bothering me because it seems to be doing something but not what the table says!!
I noticed this, as well, when mapping my Octatrack to the app. They didn't actually work. I wonder if it's left over from the desktop?
On another note, according to the manual, only the first keyzone can be bipolar for pitch, it seems. Am I the only one that things that's kind of stupid? Do they not think people would want to be able to pitch a sound up or down on other tracks, or multiple tracks?
Anyone tried to map a launch control xl? Do you need all 8 presets to control all tracks? Is it possible with 127 cc values? Not sure how many knobs etc are even available here. Would be one crazy machine.
DC can be oupputed to different audiobuses but these don’t seem to generate any audio signal. I am confussed?
Is anyone else getting a slight saw buzzing sound in between switching presets?
Edit: I just checked and it definitely does NOT do it in the standalone app. Something to do with AUM? Or this AUv3.
I’ve got a session with 6 multi out channels of DC and 4 multi out channels of Drambo.
Inter: that session sounds ace. Do you make tracks? How do the multi outs work for you? I dream of genie one day I will do this. Export stems proper and all that.
By the way, DC is a beast consuming power on ios 14. Only 3 channels with drumcomputer, SPA and Zeeon and AUM DSP goes to the roof like hell....
My ipad is only 4 years old.... but maybe that is old enough.
4 years is pretty old actually. They shortly said after the release of Drumcomputer there is no way this will work on ipad... they become more powerful the rest is history.
Considering each channel is essentially a complex full-fledged synth, I'm not surprised at the CPU consumption. I'm only surprised that it can effectively run at all on my Air 2. The fact that I can get away with a few other synths is even more surprising.
Businesses generally depreciate computer equipment over three years (meaning that on their financial books, they're worth $0.00 after three years), sometimes five. Coming from a business background, the idea I can even still use this ol' thing so effectively after all these years with any modern app still surprises me.
What an app. But is there no way to realtime record?
Thank you. Sold.
Surely Steinberg must have multi outs ready to drop in 3.1 early next month
