@slicetwo So Sugar Bytes confirmed for me that that Remix/Auto CC Assignment table is
.... except if you want to use cc's86-119 for mapping to controls and do sound design with the host stopped.
Also, there is a bug cc118 and cc119 are around the wrong way. 118 is controlling cutoff and 118 hall.
@Lil_Stu07 If you do try to map DC to your Launch control xl be aware that CC's 86-119 are used for the above. So I recommend avoiding those for use in your mapping.
@slicetwo as for the polarity issue it does seem strange that you can position ch1 anywhere in the range but not 2-8
Thanks 😊. What i ment was realtime mudi recordin in the sequenzer as an alternative to step programing 😊
i am casting my vote on this being the best auv3 drum machine on ios. (of course there’s lots of fraud with ballots these days😂🤣)
but this does almost everything ive ever wanted an auv3 drum machine to do, and more .
it’s way too much fun honestly and it sounds so good, from low punchey kicks to complex hat patterns i can’t find a way to have it fail me yet.
i always wished patterning would go auv3 but that’s clearly a dream that isn’t coming true, but it is sample based anyway so its categorized differently imo anyway. this thing fills the void in exceeds my expectations for a drum synth, i figured we were a few years out from one this great
I’m sorry I looked and looked. Is there a way to trigger the transport within DC with out triggering the AUM transport?
I don't see a way. I figured I'd leave DC set to Host/Play and control it using the host transport controls.
Yes... I was afraid. I looked and looked. It’s messing with some timing for me on some other items but its not DC’s fault I just need to set up my session better. Thanks!!
I'm only one day in. Held back while the dust settled. So far, honestly, my game has been changed. Paired with Cubasis 3 it seems to do everything I want. Very happy boy.
Game changed here.
I've gone from endlessly messing with miRack, making all kinds of weird sounds and no music to endlessly messing with Drum Computer making all kinds of weird sounds and no music.
Somewhere in there I flirted with Drambo, but music kept coming out, so I think I self-sabotaged.
I'll have to give it some time to see how usage evolves but so far I agree with @reasOne and @wim. This is my new "go to" for drum machine on iOS. It's crazy fun as well as useful.
My "go-to" list hasn't changed except that 909 is added. When I just want to get a beat goin' I have a just a couple of apps I go to. DC is going to be there for when I want something different, or I just want to geek out for awhile.
Though I have to say, that sequencer is tha' bomb. I think it's my favorite drum sequencer now.
I agree, the sequencer is way more musical from a beat standpoint that I will never be. Pointing to Ting in AUM sounds awesome. Anyone know how to use Lumbeats with this?
Sounds like a great idea - but I stumbled again over my very personal midi-cc-stupidness ,,, while trying to follow it ...
So may I ask - how do you set up DC in order to play „all“ the Tings individual sounds ... I guess that you will work with two instances of DC - and then how do you direct the single sequencer lane to a specific instrument inside of Ting?
And since it’s about asking - is there a simple way to scroll/skip through the individual sounds per channel? I mean yes, there are the arrows to jump through the presets/kits ,,, but how can I ... lets say skip just through a single category of sounds ... like going quickly through all the kicks or all the claps ... ?
Until now I use this pop-up menu - but it’s super annoying to always return to the category and so on after I listened to a single sound ,,, there must be an easier way, I hope ,,,
Next to this - I must say that I truly love DC ... and especially the sequencer ,,,
In French, but a quick presentation of DrumComputer with a couple of jokes (in French obviously). Also, Sugar Bytes sent me a code for a draw. I will put the name of each person who comment on this video and I will select a name at random in a couple of days.
Good luck.
This thing is so cool I’m gonna have to unlock soon.
I notice that the MIDI assign dialog appears if you long press it, so maybe you can assign a CC# to it.
Sorry, didn’t get to the point of firing all the sounds in Ting. But the seven I did get sounded great, less is more!
no it is very annoying, there’s no way to scroll thru the channel presets quickly... i emailed them to see if we can get some dang arrows in this thing lol.
lol come on @wim make something musical 😎🤣
and yes this sequencer is the most intuitive and quick design i’ve seen in some time
Yeah sure, I see (hear) your point - ))
but it’s not so much about „firing all sounds inside of Ting“ - but more about how can I choose a specific one - up to now it feels like a fixed default output coming from DC
I tried to manipulate this fixed output with a helper app in-between like QuantiChord - It somehow helped - I was abled to reach other „instruments“ inside of Ting - but still logic/theory behind this connections is kind of opaque for me ,,,
DC, TAL, Bass 808....
Best synths of 2020
(ok ok, drambo too 🤣)
As I mentioned before, and no disrespect to Drambo for what it CAN do, which seems pretty limitless....
Working with Drambo is like assembling Ikea furniture.
The hardware equivalent as far as I am concerned is an Octatrack. I had one because I was so hyped to use it, sounded amazing, but such a frustrating learning curve.
I have never worked with modular, but the cost vs one Drambo instrument set up with instant recall, no patch cords to memorize? Incredible. But again, each time you make a new sound you have to build it. Maybe it's me...
Working with Drum Computer is just plain fun.
Fat and interesting sounds. Randomization galore. Far more fun than the best hardware instruments I have had, and I have owned a LOT!
Both sound astounding. JUST SAYIN', this is my jam.
Great analogy, @FlightManual. Spot on.
agreed man, strait fun and great jams
Can you explain what you're trying to do?
Here is where the tutorials discuss the mapping zones:
Each of the 8 engines is transmitted as a different MIDI note, determined by the markers in the mapping zone.
The SBComputerKeys mapping will map the 8 engines to 8 of the 12 Tings.
So, nobody else getting a noise in between switching presets using the AU?
Ran it up just for you, but no noise at all. 12.9/latest OS (in AUM).
I haven’t noticed any on my ol’ Air 2, even when playing. Which is actually a bit surprising to me. Try changing presets while playing in BASSalicious 2, PureSynth Platinum or AudioKit FM Player some time.
Thanks for checking. I recorded a screen cap of the noise. Notice each time I repeatedly tap the right arrow on the preset picker, there’s an obnoxious buzz noise that’s slightly different each time.
I’ll have to send this to SugarBytes I reckon. Doesn’t do it in standalone. (iPad Pro 11 (2018) iPadOS 14.2)
Nothin’ like that here. Maybe its because I’m on 13.7. What’s your buffer setting in AUM? Are you using an audio interface?
@Intrepolicious sorry to say that IS obnoxious....
