    Well, I’m weak, bought it...

I see something which could be a bug, can you tell me owners if you meet the same issue : load preamp and tell me if you can change the type and turn the gain knob ? Volume knob looks ok.
Here it’s AUM but I have the same problem with my DAW.
    iPad Air 3, iPadOS 13.6

I'm mixed about the CPU load, it's not light compared to some classics DDMF/FF.
    But it sounds really good.

Thanks for using and enjoying MixBox! I double checked with our team to make sure and was correct - In the case of the gain knob, this is not a bug – it’s the behavior of those preamp types. The Preamp processor module contains 7 analog modeled preamps from tube guitar amps. Not all of the preamp models include variable gain control, which is the behavior of those amps. Because of this, the gain knob is greyed out. Check out Crunch, Lead 1, Lead 2, or Fuzz types for preamp models that have the gain control. The Clean, BritAC, and Mellow preamps are the fixed gain models. This is why you’d often see an EQ chain on these types of amplifiers, to further alter the color generated by these tubes.

I’m having issues selecting other preamp models, the drop down menu doesn’t work and if I keep tapping I’ll maybe get lucky and get another model but it does seem to be a bug with the preamp module over all.

👍 I’m gonna try the demo on desktop first, looks extremely promising! Thanks for this release, are you willing to share how long the intro price will be active?

  • I’m pleased.

  • Bought it, quick run through and it feels good, not great. The strength is in creating and saving chains, which inches it towards great for all the possibilities, and yes there are many.

No overall dry/wet control though. :'( Only individual module dry/wet controls.

@ikmultimedia I noticed this too. I think there were two modules with a drop down menu, where the menu doesn’t work. Flicking up and down seems to work though.

  • @ikmultimedia Overall dry/wet control would be a nice addition. As would MIDI CC for dry/wet controls (including the hypothetical Overall Dry/Wet).

  • Same issue with the drop down menus in the modules (convo reverb etc). Plus one for an overall mix knob/slider (would make life a bit easier in various iOS hosts). Other then those minor things, this is a superb effects rack.

I miss automation/CC of the current dry/wet more, but adding both is needed: overall dry/wet, AND automation/CC for ALL dry/wet. App feels incomplete without them. @ikmultimedia

If there is room for requests - m/s and freq band split modules would open up a lot of creative possibilities.

m/s for sure and also parallel routing!

  • These modules look amazing. Can any owners weigh in on reverb quality vs some toneboosters stuff. Or the saturators vs cassette pro, reelbus, etc?

Yeah, the preamp module the ConvoRoom reverb both have issues with the drop down menus when using them as audio units, they work fine in stand alone mode for me.

  • I have this on the desktop this is gonna be fire on my iPad buying now lol

  • Sooooo about the stand alone version.....it’s nice that it has a file player....but it would be great if we could export audio with the effects added. Seems like it’s only for listening. I think there definitely needs to be an export feature in the stand alone.

  • wow - downloaded it, sounds great+great presets too (  iPad Pro 12,9 /2018)
great on drums, vocals, bass, guitar 👍

  • im taking the plunge... just for the SSL and pultec emulations alone. as well as the 1176 and LA2A. the rest is just a bonus

  • Hi,
Please help me out on this one. This looks very interesting. It’s got many of the emulations and chains I’m used to in desktop, Neve eq, 76 compressor, etc. But I just spent a shitload in Black Friday...

How good is this sound wise?. It obviously overlaps with many other plugins, and at this price It’d be worth it for intensive use, so it’d better be really good. Would this become the “go to”?. What about CPU?. It says it’s “derived” from the likes of Amplitube and T-Racks, and those are pretty good... is it stellar good?. The UI looks really good too, that’s definitely a plus.

How about side chain?. It says it’s got 8 racks... If you put an instance on, say, a kick drum. Can you sidechain a bass on another instance?. Works in any daw or, like other compressors, or only in AUM?. Would it do sidechain in Zenbeats or Cubasis?. That’d be a definite selling point.

It’s a really tasty looking package, but could you let us know, in your opinion, how the individual effects stack up against current AU offerings? I’m not sure how much longer I can hold out, no less than 2 days I’m sure haha

I see it comes with a audio player module which is interesting.

    Very interested too.
I read a very good review of the desktop version. I, guessing it’s the same algorithms and quality.
    https://www.gearslutz.com/board/reviews/1325901-ik-multimedia-mixbox.html

Also I’m wondering if presets and settings are compatible between desktop and iOS.

  • @tahiche I was literally just responding in agreement to your query too haha. Well, whichever of us gets it first can confirm for the other. Reading the GS review at the moment. I’d be surprised if the modules weren’t identical in all respects.
This thing is gonna be great for sound design and mastering. Instead of jumping between 3 different apps for EQ, saturation, comp and reverb you can do it all in one app. Should be fun to emphasize generated saturation harmonics with different stages of EQ too.

  • Just read that review, this does sound good!

  • @aleyas it sounds great. id compare the eq and compressors to the waves emulations for desktop. the reverbs are great as well. warm and lush. saturators are nice and crunchy.. lots to go through, but seems pretty powerful..

I dont think it will replace anything in my workflow, but I will be using this for quick inspiration and quick mixing with some crunch. The presets are great as well, loads of em.

heres a quickplay : warning, gets kinda louddd

Ok I downloaded Mixbox and even though I dismissed this yesterday @echoopera recommended thumbs up made me take the plunge .

@samu u right it handy to have an “all in one rack” with the cpu and storage space advantages that brings .

Just wanted to add the quality of these effects are outstanding after 5 mins play I am well impressed MU Waverley and this is just heavenly.

It great to see another Pro grade audio offering coming to the mobile platform.

For the amount of effects you get for the actual price it’s a bargain.

    Top marks @IKMultimedia.

  • honestly, I wish this was around when i first got onto iOS about a year ago. it covers ALOT of bases. Very versatile app for the cost of one or two Fab filter apps.

  • The official video.

  • Has anyone spotted when the intro offer ends?

Looks great man, and thanks for the speedy demo! This app is def gonna save me some $$ on effects for the next year!

  • Wish this was out before black Friday and I hadn't just bought load of fx apps.

  • I'm late to the party but this looks amazing. I have been hoping to see this released ever since we got a glimpse of it in the Syntronik FX rack. 🧨
