You get a beautiful UI! 😉
What about iPhone users?
How long until this comes to iOS?
Fell for it too. Wimpy, lame and poor.
You know what?. I can’t tell the difference between an 1176 and a 670. Never could, although sometimes I think I can. It depends on the source material, which means I really can’t...
It’s like premium gins. You pay the extra, it tastes lovely, but on a blind test you’d have your doubts.
With these emulations, compressors, eqs, channel strips and so it’s more about how they add up little by little and it becomes noticeable at the end. Again, I’m on 8€ earbuds. Like premium gin with stale gasless tonic.
Nonetheless I like this MixBox stuff.
Agree with @bsokol here, it doesn’t match Nembrini on guitars. Which I’m kind of glad about cos I don’t want to feel terrible about all the plugins I own and I like the Nembrini dudes.
Phasers are great, preamps are great, saturator-x is great, tape is not as good as “Tape pro” imho (warble is too warbly), tape delay is not gonna kill my other tape delays. Eq’s?. Did I already do the premium gin analogy?.
Choruses are sweet, the simple blue one specially. Tremolos are ok, the am/fm modulators are fun, the Slicer is interesting, the Env Flanger is gonna be seriously abused, Ambience reverb gives you a subtle and nice space, plate reverb sounds vintage good...
So overall extremely useful.
Makes total sense. Definitely hard to resist this release.
Yep, didn’t expect it to really compete with THU or Nembrini, bought it for the effects and mixing capabilities. Sounds really good with lots to explore so far.
This will be the perfect companion for ApeMatrix with its limited number of slots for effects !!
Yes!! MixBox is also multi I/O right? Should be easy to set up some feedback networks, or chains of more than 8 modules in ApeMatrix too.
It is multi, but there is only one additional input channel for side chaining (can be enabled for select modules). It can’t do parallel fx, if that’s what you meant.
Ohh. I thought there were 8 different racks, each with their own input/output. Thats not how it works?
Live Review of the app from @ipadbeatmaking here:
The standalone version can be set up that way with multi I/O interfaces, but the AU version is IN + SCH / OUT at the moment.
unless I’m missing something...
edit: it’s one rack with 8 slots - fx chain with dry/wet control
I will test the app in a guitar context tomorrow.
More to come.
Yea that’s my guess as well, but fingers crossed for some kind of bundle or IAP cross grade or something...
Ohhhkay. Well, a single 8 module rack is actually quite enough. Can always add more instances if necessary.
Sure, it is good to have some guitar stuff on the board. I totally forgot that Amplitube still doesn't have support for AU3. It is good sign that maybe with Amplitube 5 release on iOS they will finally add it.
@ikmultimedia any insider info here?
Went thru the entire list of modules but I must be blind or something since I didn't see a single noise-gate among the plug-ins?!
I'll wait until I have a more powerful iPad than my iPad Air 2 before I even consider purchasing this...
no No NO ... I do not want to like this ! @echoopera I sentence you to death by a 1000 cuts ! You too @ipadbeatmaking
We will get AmpliTube 5 out for Mac/PC before the end of the year, but we have had some internal changes with regard to handling the iOS apps and such and we look forward to some AUv3 love in 2021 for you all.
Guitar products tend to focus attention on frequencies from 70 Hz and 5000 Hz. The frequency range of a typical Celestion 12" speaker. So, using those Guitar products for
general mixing needs is doomed to producing poor quality audio.
But that doesn't mean this mixing product won't do some magic on a guitar for tone and FX
uses. It might be sonic overkill but it definitely covers 70 Hz and 5000 Hz well and can be tweaked. It will be great for someone like me that craves a clean tone with a lot of Tube goodness. And maybe it will have the Distortion FX that makes some guitarists happy simulating classic amp tones. There are some effective "rigs" that can be created here.
@flo26 might find some... he's motivated to show us the way.
If there is a cross grade or bundle?
That would be really cool.
Still, I like their apps.
When they do bring out ToneStack Au3?
I'll be getting it.
20 minutes testing it out on drums, bass and synths and love it. Im no pro at mixing but to my ears the added grit and depth im getting sounds great. Also enjoying the more subtle results also. Definitely worth
Now to remove my card from iTunes
Until drambo gets auv3
Thanks for the info! Finger crossed
I've noticed lack of Pitch Shifter and Micro Pitch FXs.
Haha, it was crazy week with all BF sales and MixBox today.
I count 264 presets... where are the 700 promized ?
Just a quick test on a track I’m working on.
Sounds good.
@ikmultimedia I think automation is broken. Or maybe I’m missing something.
If you go to 4:20 in the video, I tried automating certain parameters but it won’t write automation in Cubasis 3.
I see presets for instrument channels but are there any presets for the master ?
There are fx chain presets and individual fx presets
