  • Oh I see...there are presets for each effect and there are presets for chains of effects. Great!

I read somewhere that you need to register with IK to get more presets...

I did but nope...but as I mention above, I think that the 600+ presets are the sum of each individual module’s presets

The number of presets is including the specific module presets we include as well. The special presets for registering are above and beyond the main presets.

  • Ok so I caved.... have a few questions.
No internal LFO? Would be nice to map inside it.
So.... what are the 19 parameters for each slot? Does anyone know for example what the wet/dry would be in AUM?

Try apeMatrix as a host. It lets you assign a unique LFO to each and every AUParameter :)

  • Has anyone registered? I did 2 hrs ago but not received my activation email yet

  • The graphics are nice as well. That shows effort and care. I wonder if this is real cpu heavy?
Steep price so investigations are needed you know.

  • If you register, there is a downloadable 77 presets special signature pack (by John Potoker)

I am trying to find if there is an equation to what parameters = what? There is no midi learn on this correct??

Rozetta LFO has 3 LFO's and you can run multiple instances.
In AUM they make great stocking stuffers and AUM exposes AU Parameters to MIDI apps like
Rozetta. TIP: Add the Rozetta to a MIDI slot using the "Audio Unit Extension" option/list. That way it won't consume a whole Audio Lane per instance but will use the vertical MIDI arrangement.

Vertical presentation of Audio apps would be a great new feature in AUM to maximize the use of on screen real estate. We shall see... @j_liljedahl is busy making his IAA FX apps into AUv3's. I'm hoping he tried adding a "tip jar" feature to AUM. He thinks it's against the rules because an IAP need to give the use something. Maybe it's time for @j_liljedahl to offer Audio Loops in a store generated by 3rd parties. That way we could show our appreciation and get a nice loop to inspire us to make something new.

No midi-learn from what I can see...

I think the problem @ikmultimedia is facing here is that it's pretty darn impossible to implement dynamic AUParameterNames thus they have to resort to fixed number of parameters per rack slot and module.

What they could do is give us a spreadsheet where we have the parameter names sorted by module.

    So Module Name - Module
    Parameter 1 = Delay
    Parameter 2 = Feedback

To create such a spreadsheet one needs to have access to the source from the developers or extreme patience and dig thru all 70 modules in every rack-slot :D

    Cheers!

Yeah, you get a zip file of additional Presets when you register. The link is in the email they send you after logging in within the App. I can't figure out how to import all of them in 1 go though...looks like I have to import 1 at a time.

LOL, I don't work for IK and without having access to the app it would be more like 'random guesswork' haha.
Now if I win a promo-code from somewhere I may consider creating a spreadsheet or at least map out some of the parameters.

Still I feel it's something that IK should provide as a service for paying customers...

@Samu is great at generating what developers call a "User Requirements Document".

    @echoopera This help?

    1.2.5 – Importing/Exporting Presets
All presets from the desktop version are compatible with the mobile version. You may send song, rack, or module presets individually from the desktop version to mobile, and vice versa. Any sharing method will work: email, airdrop, or files manager import. Press and hold the preset file and use the iOS “open in” / “open with” feature, then select “Open with MixBox”
    1.2.6 – Importing ZIP Files
For installation of a set of multiple presets, you may import the preset zip file directly. To import the file, download the Preset Pack zip file to your iPad. Next, open the iOS Files Manager app and locate the ZIP file in your download folder. From here, tap the Share button and select “Open In MixBox”. Alternatively, you may send the zip file via email or airdrop, then open with MixBox.

And then he follows it up with a nice "Customer Hot-Line" complaint to motivate implementation of his "Requirements". Sometimes... it works.

Yes, it is obvious that they were not going to cannibalize their own products..

Btw I really like their guitar effects in MixBox, but I'm not a real guitarist. Until they release an AUv3 version of Amplitube, I'll be very happy with that as extra tools for GB amps.

Sure, it is good to have some guitar stuff on the board. I totally forgot that Amplitube still doesn't have support for AU3. It is good sign that maybe with Amplitube 5 release on iOS they will finally add it.

@ikmultimedia any insider info here? ;)

We will get AmpliTube 5 out for Mac/PC before the end of the year, but we have had some internal changes with regard to handling the iOS apps and such and we look forward to some AUv3 love in 2021 for you all.

I really hope that means SampleTank AUv3.

    Just kidding mate...all good...saved me about 30 minutes of importing 1 by 1 by 1 by 1 by 1 by 1....

It is really good - makes my old 707 sound like a drummer - almost🙃

  • Feature requests:

    A transient shaper.

    Pitch shifter.

A few more creative effects, like the slicer module, which isn’t your most typical mixing tool. Steal some algos from the various pedals out there, I wanna make ice delays darnit. Or adding a pitch shifter I guess would do the trick as well.👊

From what I can see without having bought it, I don't think that's the way the presets work. They look to me like they are related to the "slots", and what the parameter controls is related to the parameters particular FX loaded into that slot. That could change at any time so there's no way to map names.

This way of doing it makes sense to me. With 70 FX with many parameters each, that would be a huge list to scroll through. And, if you had more than one FX such as an EQ in a rack, you'd have a mess on your hands.

(Ignore this post if that's not the way the parameters work).

I probably won’t need to buy any FX AUs ever again if I get this.

'need' is a very relative term lol 😂

Risking being counter to just releasing something that is not an essential need for survival, I'll quote R.E.M. since it is from one of my favorite songs: "What we want and what we need have been confused"
