3rd free product unlocked in the IK Multimedia Group Buy https://www.ikmultimedia.com/25gb/

Damn I’m getting really tempted now. I’ve always wanted T-Racks although not keen to shell out circa 500 and for it (deluxe version), however if that means a free Mixbox for Mac and another goodie as well it may well be worth it. Not sure what the 3rd product should be. Syntronik any good?

Yea it’s fantastic. Pretty sure it’s going to go higher there, too. There is a point where it’s just too good of a deal, I expect a few jumps down the road. I read up, last time it reached 6 free products. That’s a good deal.

And the year before that I think it was 9 free T-Racks processors it got up to.

I have been interested in SampleTron, but the price was (and is) to high, the udate-price from the old Sample-Tron couldn’t also convince me. Now I would get a bunch of additional software, which I partly also already own, even though on iPad. Difficult.

My main problem is how I would integrate that into my iPad workflow. Currently I’m trying Reason+ with that 3 months for 3$ offer, and bringing those worlds together isn’t straight forward to say the least.

  • So regarding the IK group buy

If you buy now and receive 3 extra free products, then if more free tiers are unlocked later through the month, you still get to choose more free products?
Like it doesn’t matter if you buy now or at the end you still get all that becomes “unlocked”.

    Is that correct?

Yes that’s correct. You get the supplementary products to choose on the promotion site of your IK-profile - independent from the date of your purchase.

Yes. You have 30 days after it ends to claim your freebies or get them 1 by 1 as they become available or anything in between.

And it isn't a question of "IF". At this point you can bank on it getting to 10 FREE and beyond before it's over.

  • This IK thing is an annual thing? It looks like an incredible deal, yet I’m in no hurry for any of it except, maybe MixBox. But I can wait if this deal will come around again. “25th Anniversary “ thing just a marketing bell for this year? I’m a total noob to desktop production, but have this thread bookmarked to keep an eye out. How does this deal compare to patiently waiting for sweet deals by other companies? Thanks.

They seem to change it up each year. I jumped in a couple of years ago when it was just TRacks FX. Got 10 for one. Last year was Amplitube libraries I think. I didn’t go for it. This year’s is across the board and a bit special, I think.

  • It must be a great way for IK to get an injection of cash and pull in new customers before the next wave of updates and new releases. The quality is really high as well which makes it so cool. Some people don’t like the strings but the rest is top tier

I don't know about EVERY year, but they have had a number of these in the past*. OTOH this one also has a very high cap of 24 or 25 free, which I think goes way beyond the previous caps, but I'm not sure.

Other companies have good sales from time to time, but this goes way beyond a normal sale.

But that's assuming you actually want and will actually use enough of the products.

*Please note that in the past the number of freebies increased rapidly in the last few days as everyone who was on the fence jumps in once they see how many free titles it has reached at that point.

  • That is sweet, thanks for the info’s

I already own Syntronik, ModoBass, and the HammondB3

Looking at getting MixBox or T-racks, and then Sampletron, mododrum, sample tank or maybe a few individual t racks processors like the space delay, sunset reverb

Hell yeah… didn’t plan on going all in on IK Multi stuff, yet here we are.

Can you tell us more about Syntronik on desktop - are there any additions to the Syntronik on iPad? ModoBass - is it worth it?

  • @Satie ModoBass is really good and I recommend it. The amount of tiny details you can tweak is crazy. It sounds authentic.

Syntronik is about the same I think on Desktop. Just uncompressed files and more raw osc files I think. More presets? Sorry I’m pretty sick these days in the middle of chemo treatments so my mind is a bit foggy. So don’t quote me on anything, that IK rep guy I think has explained it once or twice before. Have to search the Syntronik threads see if I can find it.

Syntronik is 80gb tho so quite large. It was kind of a pain to instal, had separate installers for every synth. I think that’s changed now. If you already have a collection of nice synths for desktop I wouldn’t recommend it so much. But it does sound really nice and lots of good presets if that’s your thing. I’m not a big synth head so I have trouble creating my own sounds from scratch, so Syntronik works pretty well for me.

First of all - get well soon!!
Thanks for the info. I know that installing IK-products can get troublesome...

  • Here’s to your health getting back to full strength @ruggedsmooth

  • Thanks for the kind words guys,

…group buy about to break another tier… oh yeah!

…UVI is also doing a sale, 30% off site wide I think. But it ends end of day today. One day I’ll pick up Falcon.

Thanks so much for the insights and really hope you are on the up my friend.

Just ticked over to 4 free products. Bit the bullet and bought T-racks deluxe. Nabbed Modo Drum and Mixbox and still musing on the extra two credits. Might be an easy choice if a few more freebies get added before it’s done!

    Nice!

Sampletron 2, Modo Bass, Modo Drum, Sampletank 4, and Mixbox are my selections so far. $28 per plugin and dropping!

Alright so a hot tip I learned on the IK Multi sale.
If you use “gear credits” to buy your product it comes out cheaper.
Like MixBox is $199 for me, but buying $200 worth of Gear credits is only $159.

It’s a bit convoluted process but it seems to work.
You have to download the custom shop, buy through there, choose credits as payment and then it redirects to Ik site to purchase credits amount
Also you can combine your “jam points” to save even more, and you still get the $199 total for selecting your free items.

Only caveat is items purchased this way can’t be transferred to other users (no resales)

Thanks for the heads up. Falcon is definitely on my hit list so really tempted specially as you get that $100 voucher for expansions...👍

Still trying to work out what to do with my extra IK credits although at this rate I may not have to decide as we are about to hit 5 freebies with 14 days to go! Was thinking about Sampletank but thought it was the max version. Sadly it’s the level below that. Anyone use Miroslav Philharmonic 2? I’ve read some positive reviews from music sites etc and then some shitty reviews from users. It’d get use from me if it’s any good. I’m interested in Sampletron as well.

I have taken SampleTank (and orchestral percussion) as extra - and have to say „what a mess“ installing all this sounds. Some soundpacks are recognized, some not, for some packs SampleTank reroute me to the product manager where the sounds are registered well. Waiting for support. I did a little calculation, when it continues like this unchanged we will hit 8-10 freebies, but I expect there to be large jumps when we hit certain milestones. Beyond 10 it just becomes an insane deal if you are into IKs software, I mean realistically spoken buying into this then would set you up with everything you could every possibly need.

I couldn’t believe it when I saw the expiry date on the downloads and the need to pay when they expire. That’s not kosher, surely.
