Oddly enough very few synths have the option to map the next/prev preset buttons.
Arp switch on/off has always been a mess with first version. I reported it several times to kvr but nothing has been done. Apparently, this is the same problem with version 2
Thanks for timestamping the tutorial vids.
Any plans on adding presets from Luke Neptune as in SM One?
😊
Meanwhile I found a way to restore.
Click on the preset name (top middle of the screen). You’ll get a drop-down menu. Select ‘Dowload desktop expansions’ (it starts downloading). Then select ‘Restore In-App Purchases’ in the same drop-down menu, download starts.
I had only 4GB free space on my iPad, but I had to free up another 2GB to let the download properly finish. It’s strange because SM with all its upgrades occupies only 1.55GB space.
Looks like there's a bug with the "Restore IAPs" button, however if you tap the preset name on the top header, and tap "Restore IAPs" button, that should work.
Thanks for the bug report!
Thats' because first it downloads the zip files to a temp location, then extracts them to the Presets folder and deletes the files in the temp location.
I know you can drag a modifier onto another control to set up a mod matrix entry, but how do you set up having one modifier control another, for example a keyscaler mapped to adsr decay? As both are not visible at the same time.
@onerez @ervin
I think you should change the quote to
"Yeah but I'm not an over-complicator like you Tim. Let's keep this simple and just get midi mappable preset up and down buttons."
HA. And Tim I hope you know I meant no disrespect…. Cheers!!!!
@kv331audio_bulent The XY pad for the vector osc isn’t showing when loaded as an auv3 (Drambo & AUM) for me?
Also I’m not sure if it’s a bug or by design but when adding modulation by tapping a parameter, you can’t control the amount of modulation until you adjust it in the mod matrix.
I’m still running the beta (on iOS 14.6), is the release build different? Should I just instal that?
I love this thing btw, incredible balance of power and capability with ease of use. Absolutely workhorse!
Good to know...BUT very disappointing.
The arp us cool. I hope they will take a look to it now.
For now I will try to use a preset and delete everything to get a running init preset🤪
It's very easy to adjust the modulation amount once you know the gesture...
If/when a knob has modulation applied to it long-tap on the knob adjust he modulation amount for the selected modulation source.
I'm still hoping we'll get some way to type in the modulation mounts for ultra-precision
Cheers!
Thanks Samu but I was aware of this, my issue is that it’s only possibly to use that gesture after adjusting the amount in the mod matrix. To be clear, it works fine if I drag and drop a modulation, it’s only if I add it by tapping (said hold in on post, meant tap) a parameter and selecting from the menu.
Unless I missed something, there is no option to sequence strictly Drumkit oriented presets (in ARP section). This seem to be a missing functionality compared to desktop version.
Ok, I've tried both methods of adding a modulation source and I'm able to adjust the amount without going to the matrix?!
One thing that I can't adjust other than via the matrix is the 'mode' (+ or multiply) which is used to apply to source value to the target which is kinda needed for some types of modulation and I miss 'typing in' values.
As you mentioned the vector thing doesn't render properly in Drambo and might be worth to mention over at the Drambo forums so it doesn't 'slip', this as it seems to render properly in all other hosts.
I'm still exploring the app having a blast with it
Once we get some kind of 'sample management'(ie. a way to delete or rename the imported samples) I'll start to import my own. Being able to for example create 'key-maps/zones' from already imported samples could be handy but I suspect it's out of scope since the app relies on *.sfz when importing multiple samples.
Cheers!
Did it get the AUFX treatment as SM1... Can be placed in the AUFX slot in AUM?
No, can’t see it
Sounding and looking god damn great. Couple of free copies to give away here:
More chances on my Twitter and Insta too if you follow me on those platforms. ✌️
@kv331audio_bulent : Are you aware of the problems turning off the arp in the AUv3?
If a patch uses the arp, turning the arp off results in keyboard notes not triggering the layer at all. This doesn't seem to happen in the standalone.
To see it,
observe that the synth stops responding to incoming notes. This doesn't happen in standalone,
I am running iPad gen 6 in iOS 13.7
@kv331audio_bulent : in the AU, the Matrix does not show all the modulations when you display it. Compare what you see when you open the matrix for the patch "SQ Brainstormer KS" in standalone and AU.
This does not happen to me. iPad 8 iOS 14.6
Also putting a request for more keys on the on-screen keyboard (if 2 octaves is set in stone, at least make it 24 keys rather then 23). Also sliding fingers up/down on the keys for modulation/at would be neat.
Just found a relevant detail, if the whole u.i. is displayed as below, the arp on/off button turns the layer on/off too BUT this doesnt happen if you press the magnifying glass icon to focus/zoom in the u.i. on the arp.
Guys, I'll take care of all of those blue skin + other UI issues in the next update. I'm currently creating the list of issues that need to be addressed in the next build.
@espiegel123
WoW!!!!!
Thank you so much🙏🏽🖤🙏🏽🖤🙏🏽
This is the solution(for now😝)
THX AGAIN😎
Haha, glad to see you're making full use of GridInstrument.
Hope it does get it… it’s so convenient..Thanks.

@kv331audio_bulent
I still think the expansion pack/IAP thing is a bit sketchy.
So I registered in-app for the extra patches... not sure what number that should have put me on, but hopefully it was 949?
Then I bought the "Desktop preset upgrade" which promises 1500 patches. Now I seem to have 1944 of them (the first patch starting at #0).
So if I registered, surely I should have more than the 1500? Or at the very least I should have 1500 for buying the "Desktop preset upgrade"?
Also, it would be really good if the "download" button changed to "purchased" for each expansion set. Especially if it could figure out that "Synthmaster Expansion Bundle" is equivalent to all the other packs.
I plan to buy the "Synthmaster Expansion Bundle", but not until this is sorted out a bit...
I am a bit disapointed that this element of the app doesn't seem to have been looked at and improved since Synthmaster 1.
I also bought the desktop preset upgrade. Now when I select "all" to see every preset it shows that I have a total of 632. haha I lost some I guess.
