Antifa = anti fascism = against fascism

That’s as basic as semantics go.

Antifa are not anti-fascists. They’re transnational terrorists who are funded and directed by Marxists in support of Communism. Everyone attached to Antifa should be charged with terrorism

This has no semantic or historical base, this is a personal and subjective interpretation and meaningless extrapolation. Except, sadly, it’s not even “personal”.

Sweet little sting at the end, as well.

You still haven’t answered the most basic questions: Where’s the “fascism”? Who are the “fascists”?

Because to a Communist, anything that isn’t Communism is “bad”.

  • What might be useful information at this point is that from outside the U.S., the common view is that both parties there are further right, both fiscally and socially than those in most other democracies. Thus, compared to here in the U.K. the Democrats hold somewhere around the same position as our right wing mainstream party (the Conservatives). The Republicans are somewhere rightward of that, more so socially than anything else, as to be fair, U.S. fiscal politics are fairly restrained to a heavily deregulated so called ‘free’ market capitalism. Of course, that is caveated by the fact that much of that ‘free’ market is in fact captured by varied interest pools of influence, both from within the U.S. but more and more as their power wanes, from outside… (hence Deutschebank’s deep responsibility in the credit crisis debacle of the late noughties…)

You truly believe that the bunch of people looking like lost tourists amazed that they had managed to get into the capitol constituted a real concerted attempt to end democracy?

Yes, lost tourists with confederate flagpoles for assaulting police, tasers, hand ties, combat dress, hurling fire extinguishers… lol, a typical day at the NY Museum of Natural History. As far as the concerted attempt to overthrow democracy… we’ll, yeah, they were incited to overturn a lawful election. Let us not forget the Insurrectionist In Chief and his henchmen. Trump, Giuliani, Brooks, Eastman… all just fun loving tourists.

As usual @NeuM i admire you for singlehandedly holding forth even though I totally disagree with almost everything you contend politically. You are a lone voice here as this forum has a way of shutting down strident right wingers. I only wish the demographics of the real world voices was a reflection of the overwhelming liberal concepts expressed here. Unfortunately, that is not the case.

Let us not forget the background here in the US. For the first time in its existence the Supreme Court is removing liberty from it’s citizenry. In this case poor minority women who cannot afford a quick trip to New York for an abortion. It is overturning 50 yrs of rulings with justices making arguments like “a woman’s right isn’t being denied here… she can just have the baby and leave it on the doorstep of an orphanage”. Thank you for the compassion and empathy Justice Barrett! You speak for all women, I’m sure.

So this is what the right wants… like the insurrectionists, just a bit of abortion tourism with some side shopping for baubles at Tiffany’s before returning home to Mississippi and the five kids and three jobs.

Make America Grunt Again. No one can take away MY prognathic right to leaving guns around so my son murders four at his school. If you say otherwise… why, splutter, you're a bloody anti fascist!

Well, @Michael, I think I have the record for shutting most political threads down. This may be your cue. I’m only sorry it's in a Creations thread. You’re not wrong there, the capture of markets by vested interests with massive government subsidies is so great that people who lean rightward feel as comfortable arguing that real free market capitalism never got the fair hearing it deserved as those who argue that the Soviet union wasn’t a true expression of that ideology…

What’s amazing is that the Nazi’s made effective use of the Big Lie technique, which is still in use today, but there’s a newer, more contemporary appropriate technique; the Crazy Lie, just keep rolling out a stream of semi nonsense so that anyone who tries to engage with an actual argument is unable to rationally grasp what the source of the nonsense is spouting. In the meantime, bits of that nonsense drop off, and are picked up by passers by and regurgitated later as possible ‘facts’ that they read somewhere, and lots of little lies then propagate around the internet and traditional linear media until most people are so confused and discombobulated they just hold their hands in the air and give up, going on to either not vote, or otherwise participate in meaningful debate, or just randomly choose which side to supper based on ‘feelsz’…
