Yeah I got that one already 😄 it’s great to tame the lower midrange or bass. But I wasn’t successful using it on those harsh metallic high freq buildups.

I feel that Sooth might handle that better.
I should probably install the demo and try it out first.

Did you get soothe? So you compared it with smooth operator?

Yep, that’s probably still my favourite as well. I wish I could sequence other FX apps in the same way.

  • @AudioGus i wish Infiltrator was a little lower cost. Even at the current 30% off it’s a bit spendy.

    Similar vibe to Effectrix though.

I have both , what I meant is , it’s not worth 199 for the subtle job it does (but very well)
If you have very obvious metallic buildup soothe proq is far better

Gotta say after having Soothe2 for a year or maybe even two by now- It gets used in every session and was definitely worth the $140 or even full price.

I agree it’s great for metallic buildup which is so useful when doing sound design. Also for electric guitar spikes instead of notching an eq etc..

Sucks to pay this high price for a utility plug-in and not something more fun or creative. Still worth it tho IMO

Don’t know whats going on but this is nice free stuff! Code should be added automaticaly.
Included: Black Box Analog Design HG-2, Shadow Hills Mastering Compressor, Ampeg SVT-VR Classic, bx_masterdesk, bx_oberhausen, and bx_console Focusrite SC.

    https://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/products/pa-soundwide-bundle.html?voucher_code=JOINSOUNDWIDE

And from NI: Ethereal Earth, Neuron Elements.

It's a new merger of Plugin Alliance, Native Instruments and Izotope called Soundwide - they're celebrating with some great freebies but I hope it doesn't make a difference to their apps and plugins in the future...

There are some pretty nice plug-ins there; And an Izotope!

Isn't Neutron Elements always free though? Izotope don't seem to be entering into the spirit of this celebration...😉

🤣 Precisely, they went with a kind-of throwaway product

    @klownshed said:
There are a lot of bad ‘manager’ apps but the Izotope one takes the biscuit. Soooo bad.

I hear you and raise you Native Instruments ("yes, you do need to re-download every single expansion individually, even though you should be able to simply move them to your desired new location, because even though we are a German company we are just too lazy to extend the functionality for those") and IK Multimedia (need I say anything?) ;)

I found I didn’t need to re-download the Native Instruments expansions for Kontakt when I moved computers. Had it all on the external drive and just pointed the new install at the old samples via the Native Instruments installer. The worst bit about the NI installer is the need to be connected to the ‘net even if you just want to do some internal housekeeping. Bitwig was cool with wherever I moved the sample folder. Now Logic, that’s a different place again ... I did a fresh install and that was a 70GB + download of stuff already sitting on my external drive. Really Apple?

I don't know what to say. 😶 You're a magician, mate. Native Instruments explicitly says that is not possible to do with expansions and indeed, they don't have a relocate option in the Native Access installer, unlike Kontakt libraries for example (expansions are not Kontakt libraries). So i can't even imagine how you did it, but more power to you! 👊

  • It's not obvious. I'll have a look and get back to you. I'm currently pretty much off grid.

Thank you. But don't worry about it. I recently did a reinstall on a new machine and not knowing any better I went the hard way with the expansions. It's all done now though. 👍

Same. Recently had to redownload NI sound library as Native Access couldn’t repair/relocate it when pointed.

@AudioGus try Movement by Output if you’re Jones’n for Effectrix. OMG is it brilliant. By far my fav multiFx. Got it on flash sale for $50 at Plug-in Boutique. Did I mention all of Output apps are NkS and work natively within Maschine World? Yeahp! Check out the demo while you wait on Effectrix.

    https://www.pluginboutique.com/product/2-Effects/53-Multi-Effect-/2352-Movement

Looks cool, but I am mostly wanting the Effectrix stretch, reverse, loops and stutter for hats and percussion. I really dig how you can change the length of the timeline in Effectrix.

Gotcha. It really is unique for what it does. I remember you mentioning StutterEdit which I assume would be NKS…didn’t love it or completely different beast?

Yah I did dig Stutter Edit well enough (it is a different beast) but mostly Infiltrator has it beat for me in that the setup is easier (no need to have a separate track and routing etc). I dont think stutter edit is NKS but it works in Maschine well enough given that I now operate about 80% in the software and only 20% on the hardware (standing desk with arm rests helped that). Lately, the past couple months, I have been working on visuals and want to get back into the tunes, but yah everything I open now just has me thinking, damn put some effectrix on that.

  • Soothe 2 is great, I use it on every session too, on some tracks as well as on the master bus. Same with Unisum which is also brilliant. They are quite expensive, yeah, but in the long run also totally worth the money spent. Now I'm having an eye on Kelvin also from Tone Projects as Unisum and on sale at the moment (til April 24). Will check the trial first and see how it does but pretty sure I'll be buying it then.

Yeah I feel like there’s no way around Soothe 2 😬 will have to bite the bullet.

Yes I especially got problems with cleanish electric guitar. Pro-q3 (even with dynamic) is just not able to solve these resonances. Would have to separate every single note to another track and eq the resonances 😆

Wow, crazy plugins. But so many that it’s hard to digest. Anything that stands out?

Be aware that the PureMagnetik effects are giving problems with Bitwig since the MacOS Monterey 12.3.1 update.

    The audio is glitched.

And it's something that the developer can't fix, because it seems related to the Cabbage audio framework that he is using.

Unless Apple fix this in other update, or the Cabbage audio developer figures out the problem, they are only usable in Logic Pro.

I purchased something like 10 different Puremagnetik plugins in the last months, in a couple of bundles. The only way that I have found of using these in Bitwig since the last Monterey update, is with Carla as a plugin bridge. But this method sucks, because you need to manually load the presets for each plugin every time that you open a project.

Just FYI- I use PM plugins a lot in Ableton(10 still) and also Pro Tools using Bluecat Patchworks as a vst/au host. I am on older OS 10.14 Mojave though.

I tried the demo of Blue Cat's Patchwork, it results in the same glitched audio, using plugins like Fathoms.

It sucks, because I adore Puremagnetik spectral effects.

But honestly, my perception of the developer has changed due to how he is managing the situation.

He already knows that the effects are causing a distorted/glitched audio in Bitwig, but he continues to sell them, without updating the webpage specifying that they are broken in Bitwig with the latest Monterey update.

I understand that this is a problem introduced by Apple, something that he can't fix. But not informing your future customers of the problem is a poor management of the situation.
