@AudioGus try Movement by Output if you’re Jones’n for Effectrix. OMG is it brilliant. By far my fav multiFx. Got it on flash sale for $50 at Plug-in Boutique. Did I mention all of Output apps are NkS and work natively within Maschine World? Yeahp! Check out the demo while you wait on Effectrix.

    https://www.pluginboutique.com/product/2-Effects/53-Multi-Effect-/2352-Movement

Looks cool, but I am mostly wanting the Effectrix stretch, reverse, loops and stutter for hats and percussion. I really dig how you can change the length of the timeline in Effectrix.

Gotcha. It really is unique for what it does. I remember you mentioning StutterEdit which I assume would be NKS…didn’t love it or completely different beast?

Yah I did dig Stutter Edit well enough (it is a different beast) but mostly Infiltrator has it beat for me in that the setup is easier (no need to have a separate track and routing etc). I dont think stutter edit is NKS but it works in Maschine well enough given that I now operate about 80% in the software and only 20% on the hardware (standing desk with arm rests helped that). Lately, the past couple months, I have been working on visuals and want to get back into the tunes, but yah everything I open now just has me thinking, damn put some effectrix on that.

Interesting. So not much MK3 anymore? I can’t imagine mousing through Maschine being any fun…must be something else you’re up too.

Oh I like it a lot. Once I got the ergo down so that mouse and keyboard work well with MK3 it is best of both worlds for me.

    >

Wait…what in thee entire F***s are you up to Gus!😵‍💫 What’s going on with the Vice grips? Arm support?

I can’t with you.lol. First you had the iPad holder chumpy for your reclined iPad couchscapades…now you got a whole modular, standing, dual monitor, control station?

Is that a desktop Egoist sighting?! ❤️💪🏽

You have thoroughly made my day.

Awww, hehe, it’s evolution babay! ;)

I’m still fresh on the desktop and my view on it is still biased by the iOS universe. I really miss my creative mangling effects that have on iOS. Now I‘m thinking about the Bleass Innovative bundle for desktop:

BLEASS Dragonfly is a new approach to tremolo that brings new sonic possibilities. BLEASS Granulizer is a texture effect plugin with randomization, 4 multi-bus audio inputs and a mesmerizing 3D visualizer. BLEASS Motion FX offers a new and creative workflow consisting of 11 effects to level up your sound design. Lastly, BLEASS Slow Machine is an awesome effect that can mutate any beat or melody from predictable to innovative.

    https://www.pluginboutique.com/product/2-Effects/39-FX-Bundle/8475-BLEASS-Innovation-Bundle

Do you think think this is a good deal for desktop or are there better creative mangling plugins? For instance the Output Movement. The good thing about the Bleass plugins is that I already know them.

Yeah I got that one already 😄 it’s great to tame the lower midrange or bass. But I wasn’t successful using it on those harsh metallic high freq buildups.

I feel that Sooth might handle that better.
I should probably install the demo and try it out first.

Did you get soothe? So you compared it with smooth operator?

I have both , what I meant is , it’s not worth 199 for the subtle job it does (but very well)
If you have very obvious metallic buildup soothe proq is far better

Thank you @hisdudeness @maxwellhouser and @cabo for your opinion.
Yeah I feel like there’s no way around Soothe 2 😬 will have to bite the bullet.

Yes I especially got problems with cleanish electric guitar. Pro-q3 (even with dynamic) is just not able to solve these resonances. Would have to separate every single note to another track and eq the resonances 😆

Make no mistake , it’s a good plugin , I was just replying if I think it’s worth 199 usd

and you can always try demo , company also kind enough to offer extension if needed

Currently I use soothe only for vocals ( for very subtle effect) but I can live without it

El guitar ,drums sculptor does the job for me

The Channel Strip is supposed to be very clean (no saturation/harmonics added) and I believe the Bus Compressor is as well but apparently does the bus comp sound better than UAD etc -from what I’ve read. I use the Glue and have also demoed Townhouse from Brainworx but Ive had my eye out for the SSL Native since the last sale I missed. I still didn't install these SSL Natives but I got the deal as soon as I saw it LOL.

Couple good walkthrough vids I watched a long time ago and saved:

    Compressor
    Channel Strip

Edit: If you go thru JRR Shop and use code "forum" and also add a free item like izotope Vocal Doubler and use code "group" this bundle comes out to $41.99 usd Don't ask me how but I've seen that in other forums today.

I have virtually all the IKM plugins from the 25th anniversary deal. Would you say their emulation is one of the good ones? I'm also tempted by this offer and wonder if it is really worth. My mixing is definitely amateur level. Don't know if I would even hear a difference.

I think Bleass UI is much better on touch surfaces. Also, I'm partial to all Output stuff, so I will say yes to all of their instruments and well as FX. Movement is cool. As is (although you didn't ask) their Analog Strings btw, which beats this new Arturia string thing hands down imho (except in price as it's not free 🤷).

I have the IK Buss comp too and usually choose The Glue over it but the IK definitely does it’s thing.

Also I wish Output allowed license transfers, I would sell it for cheap! I end up using Cableguys Shaperbox b/c I know it better but Movement is very cool- I just go thru all the expansion presets till I find a happy accident. Check out Destroy FX for free manglers! I know there’s more too. Lately I’m digging Unfiltered Audio plugins for mangle duty.

Personally I don’t think there’s that much difference between them (and when there is, it’s not like one is much better than the other, just like two slightly different flavours of the same thing).

I have the IKM bus compressor too — and the Reason bus compressor is also modelled on the SSL — the IKM bus compressor has a ‘grit’ setting to add a bit more analogue style harmonic distortion so if you want character then that will give you a subtle but audible difference.

I still tend to use the built in Logic one instead to be honest. The ‘Vintage VCA’ is modelled after the SSL G series too. I like the bus compressor to be reasonably transparent. I can add a bit of fake analogue seasoning with something like a modelled EQ or tape emulation instead. I like having all the different third party eq and compressor emulations but they’re definitely diminishing returns in terms of audio quality. If anything they’ve taught me just how good the built in Logic eq and compressors actually are.

To be honest (with my middle aged verging on the old man ears) I can’t tell the difference between different bus compressors in a mix setting once set up. Getting them in the sweet spot more easily and quickly can be where the third party plugins win. For my purposes, enjoying using them and being able to get musical results quickly is more important than precise differences in A/B testing.

I’d still be tempted by the SSL plugins because of the name (and I love a perceived bargain 🤪) and if they weren’t iLok I would probably buy them for FOMO. and then regret never using them. ;-)

No I didn't. But you are right about the Kontakt libraries, they can indeed be relocated.

The hugely frustrating thing about that is that Native Instruments just refused to develop a simple batch function for the relocation, despite user requests going back years, so they basically crap on their most dedicated users (those who purchased some version of Komplete collection) by telling them "do the relocation 73 times individually if you need to, who cares - we got your money already".

I had the exact same realisation watching tutorials and hearing zero difference when the presenter demonstrated what a brilliant effect whatever plugin or trick has. 😶

My solution is going for automatic options (usually called "smart" or "AI-driven" or something to make them sound more futuristic) - like Izotope's mixing and mastering package and Sonible's smart:eq/comp/limit series. I'm very happy with them so far. Pros will probably scoff at them, and rightly so perhaps, but for me, there's no way I can hear any difference between their output and that of the manual ones with 72 buttons on the interface, and using them is surprisingly satisfying so 👊

    Really amateur approach I know
