I’d be more forgiving if they were more forthcoming about their mistakes and if they communicated with their customers. I don’t trust anyone who just cuts and runs at the first sign of problems. There’s no way I’d hand them $15 for anything again.
Did you try the AU? It works for me.
I have not. I’ll give it a go later.
Yeah, I tried on both of my ipads.
No joy.
I’ll try again soon enough but I’m not holding my breath at this point.
I understand the frustration, but I think your first suggestion covers it. It's just a shame and a really unfortunate coincidence that issues seem to have started arising as soon as they've disappeared, when it might have been normal to expect it to run, albeit with no support, for quite some time.
And because these guys decided to yank their app from the App Store, there’s no possibility that users could demand a refund. Shady as hell.
Yanking it from the store would not prevent one from getting a refund.
Try to do it. It’s not possible.
I paid for the IAP so long ago that I would not qualify for a refund. In any case, even if the normal App Store mechanism isn't working (because they pulled it), there is another way to ask for a refund from your receipts page.
Perhaps they were unaware of the implications, and just wanted to make a clean break. Who knows?
That's simply nonsense. Apple doesn't update iOS with breaking changes very often. I've had one update from Apple break functionality on my plugins in all the time I've had them available. Only one, and that was a bug on Apple's part that they eventually fixed.
I really dislike Apple's yearly WWDC scheduled updates myself. I think they lead to bugs that shouldn't be happening. But, they don't really put too much more burden on devs. They mainly impact the end user.
I don't know what issue they have with the standalone version of Lunar Lander, but maybe they saw the problem coming while using betas of iOS and decided to bail on iOS because they weren't making enough on it to justify trying to fix their issue. That could be true, but it wasn't caused by Apple changing/updating iOS every few weeks.
I'll note that this is one of the reasons I decided to not make my container app host the AU as a standalone. It's pointless and makes the AU harder to maintain. It might make it easier to get your AU through the App Store review, but it's going to cost you in testing and maintenance from then on. For Lunar Lander, the fact that the container app crashes on startup is going to get it auto pulled from the App Store according to Apple's current policy enforcement anyway.
I find it much more likely that gree... oops, I mean money is the real reason.
Pulsar Modular was an excellent modular synth (more or less a Moog 55 clone) for Mac, available for $129 for years.
At some point, Novation acquired the company and now they're selling tiny parts of it with a fancy UI, each of them for more cash than the whole synth was before.
I'm not surprised that they don't plan to sell on iOS.
BTW, please contact me if you have the full Pulsar Modular 900 software.
Lunar Lander had some nice presets. I never bought the IAP. Pain in the bum to change presets on iPhone but whatever.
At a similar time Kymatica AU3FX:Dub came out for a more than reasonable price of less than £5. With a better GUI, CPU, etc.
Feels like take the money and run scheme 😞
The reality may be different, but the money spent cannot be recovered. Bummer
Thank you for calling out what sounded like BS from the developer.
Do you know what is Apple’s cutoff time for refunds? That’s not something I’ve seen before.

I believe 48H.
I also paid for the IAP believing it'll support the app and developer but they way they pulled it out without even previously communicating it to their customers is shady, low and shows a total lack of respect from them, I also hate the constant updates from Apple but this sound like total B.S. from the devs at pulsarmodular, The fact that the ONLY public response they have about it is because someone asked them on their facebook page is total B.S.!, I'm NOT buying anything from them again either!
Agreed...I can understand if they decide not to support iOS but they can at least communicate this to their users beforehand...
Am I right in thinking, if I remove the app or reformat my iPad, I can download the app from my purchased apps list but I won’t be able to activate the IAP?
I also paid for this to show support and this is a shame that we weren't noticed... AUv3 still working flawlessly for me.
Anyway, on a lighter note for the adventurous in you, I've patched in miRack a basic brigade delay and a plate reverb (both are readily available as modules) and it honestly felt pretty similar to lunar lander init patch. What I won't get thought is how lunar lander parameters are carefully ranged to avoid unpleasant results.
It's 3 months here. Australia. You can't select anything older than that.
I should add though, in the 3 years since I've been an apple user, again, I have about a 10% chance of refunds. Yes I feel no remorse for requesting a refund but that doesn't explain why so many have been denied. I don't do it when an app works as it is supposed to.
I got Cubasis refunded after about 5 weeks.
Amateurs
In theory you should be able to use the Restore Purchases option with no issues.
How many apps have you asked to be refunded? The number might influence Apple's decision.
I've only asked for about 3 or 4 refunds since apps first came out and I've gotten a refund from Apple Australia every time.
I tried on my phone, but tapping "restore" doesn't do anything
That's weird, because the App Store should handle the restore process. Maybe I'm wrong.
