As I wrote earlier, miRack includes a BBDelay and 2 plates reverbs. Here’s a super simple patch with mono delay (just add another delay if you need stereo). This should be pretty self explanatory.

I had "almost" forgotten that MiRack could easily replicate it as well.
At the moment my current focus with MiRack is learning how to properly scale
CV signals for MiRack when using dRambo and the oscillators.

The oscillators are so much fun.

Over 14,000 🤔 @P900 More than enough to hire in a temp iOS Dev to do a hot fix and try and save what’s left of Pulsar Modular’s reputation. While you still can.

    1400 downloads, not 14,000.

    ‘1460 opted to purchase’ x 9.99 = 14,000+

Ah, I see what you did there. Though you forgot Apple's 30 percent. And also the fact that they might want to pay themselves out of that windfall.

    It's 15%.

Sorry. It's an obsession of mine to break the world of quoting the 30% figure when it has been reduced to 15% until sales exceed $1 million per yer.

Good. Apple isn’t perfect, but they have gone out of their way to appease a small subset of developers who’ve been very loud in their criticisms.

  • Just got this in an email from Pulsar Modular.

Man if this comes back I will be ecstatic. It's so good

    I do!

The email talks about something new in the works then announces the iOS thing at the end.

I have Lunar Lander on desktop and iOS and it’s good. I forget the issue with it now - did the IAP stop working or something?

Note: dates may appear to be in the future. I am in Australia!

IIRC Pulsar pulled LL from the App Store because revenue didn’t match expectations / maintenance load was high, which might relate to contracting development or hiring someone.

  • They made too many functions free on LL and the last 5% was an IAP. That wasn’t very smart.

  • Great response from Pulsarmodular:

“Yes, Lunar Lander will land on iOS sometime in February:)
Once we get LL on iOS, we plan to continue with other plugins to follow. Probably P565 SIREN will be next.”

Had to look that one up https://www.pulsarmodular.com/product/565-filter-set/

Yes, gave away too much for free, I agree. So just to clarify: the same app will be back on the store, surely, ppl who already bought will not need to repurchase, I assume?

I was curious about that as well. Super excited to see they’re coming back though! Hope it works out well for them this time.

  • A warning to all would be purchasers/customers of Pulsar Modular

I paid 9.99 for the IAP for Lunar Lander by Pulsar Modular. Wrote to them in May ‘22 to advise that the app was failing to load on my 5th Gen iPad. When I asked what they were going to do about it they said they’d pulled out of the iOS market…but might be back in the winter.

They took my money, left me with an app that didn’t work and here we are 20 months later - maybe now they’ll do the honourable thing and release a fix that they should have implemented a year and a half ago.

I won’t be giving Pulsar Modular a single cent ever again and will never trust them. They are unprofessional and untrustworthy. Steer well clear.

Nah the apps great and I’m glad I got it. They did unceremoniously pull out of iOS and not in the best way but it’s also not the worst thing a dev on iOS has done by far. And it was done for reasons that are totally understandable.

They’re coming back now, have apologized, and seem set on making things right and giving a proper go of it. With most people they will have to earn some trust back but I think saying never trust them again, throwing insults, and telling others to completely steer clear is a bit overblown.

You are entitled to your opinion, as am I. You seem to just love every app, every developer, every development and every thread 😂 so I’m not surprised at your response. I’m the sort of consumer that expects a product that I’ve paid for. They are not insults btw, they’re facts as they played out, in my opinion, which is isn’t altered in anyway by constant toxic blind positivity. Thanks.

Give the EU a call... they'll fix it.

I don't blame you for being cheesed off.

That’s really frustrating. It would have been nice if they could have given you a refund but I don’t think developers can, can they? You have to go through Apple. I’ve lost a few gambles on iOS over the years as well.

Do you have a newer iPad now? I think the 5th gen was discontinued in like 2018? I’m at the point where I can hardly build a track on my old iPad Pro. New ones are so damn expensive though…

You should dial that back a bit there. That’s getting into personal attacks for no reason.

    "toxic blind positivity"
    bravo 👏

  • Toxic Blind Positivity. What a band! I’m pretty sure I saw them in the 90s.

  • There was a hiccup but I think we are lucky to have Pulsarmodular back on iOS. I am looking forward to their other apps, I hope they get all ported. With Lunar Lander they have proved they know how to make quality, that plate reverb is just top.

  • There is no doubt though - you absolutely should be getting a refund if you have paid for something that doesn't work - unless the company has completely folded. Given their response detailed above, which describes a really arrogant slap in the face - I would be extremely angry too.

  • To answer a few points:

Just to be clear, it’s a 12.9-inch M1 iPad Pro (5th generation) from September ‘21 on iPadOS 17.2. Everything is working just fine on it, with the exception of Lunar Lander.

Personal attacks? 😂 Pointing out that’s someone (Strange) regularly declares love for every app, every developer, every development and in (almost) every thread? Come on, hardly an attack. Perhaps dial back your own sensitivity.

They (Strange) were very dismissive of my own direct experience, like they think they have the power to override another person’s opinion. Just because something isn’t the worst thing to happen on iOS by a developer doesn’t make it ok.

I think it’s important to represent facts, from all sides, and to ensure others are aware of the potential risks when dealing with Pulsar Modular. Rather than lauding it over the return of a company who took money for an optional 9.99 IAP only for the app to completely stop working and then did nothing about fixing it. Here we are 20 months on, in my instance, they just took the money and didn’t deliver a working product.

As for being ‘lucky’ to have a company like this coming back on iOS, we’ll see. Personally, as I’ve said, I won’t be giving Pulsar Modular a single cent ever again and will never trust them.

Finally, I’m neither frustrated nor angry. Just disappointed and believe that behaviour and actions build or destroy reputations and that your customers never forget what you did.

Weird and simply not true. Hopefully it will help someone in the future. I’ve wasted enough time and money regarding this topic.
