It's fun stuff! Only a matter of time now. Either he resigns tonight, or the 1922 Committee elects new members next Monday and changes the rules to allow a second vote of confidence, and then he's gone.

  • His (Boris) vanity and delusion, will soon be over for us. The chickens (Conservative MPs) are headless amok, with wild abandon.

Unfortunately the 1922 Committee didn't change their rules until possibly Monday.

I think he should resign, but the whole “If the rules don’t allow us to get what we want, then we’ll change the rules to allow it” approach is straight out of Boris’s book of tricks. Typical Tory entitlement. No scruples the lot of them.

  • Don’t even live in the UK any more, but I really hope this is the straw that breaks the camel’s back. This government has been catastrophic. I hope also that anyone who voted for Brexit realizes what a huge mistake they made.

  • I still want them to get him on the Lebedev stuff, would hopefully take a bunch more down with him, and toxify the Tory brand for a generation or two…

UK voters actively lied to by the government on the back of 40+ years of completely negative press relative to the European Union. Not surprised they voted that way.

  • The prime minister has fired Levelling Up, Housing and Communities Secretary Michael Gove, who earlier called for him to resign

That is all true, but it doesn't explain 2019 or the 30+% polling support kept up until quite recently. ☹️

Its not just about lies. 13 million people turned on tv to watch a monarchy. They wouldnt do that with an eu broadcast. Wouldnt say never to being ruled over by the eu ( if ironically people accept a monarchy ) but it would likely be best to remain as business.

We’re surrounded and bombarded by lies. Everyday, all the time, everywhere. But it’s not like they’re super elaborate, cunning and sofisticated. I’d say these kind of people want to believe the bullshit, simplification makes live and decisions easier, then you can act like a victim (again) and blame whoever for deceiving.

  • Seems like the whole world is headed the same way sadly. It’s not a good scene in the US right now either. I have no problem with our current administration (don’t love them, don’t hate them) but the previous administration is still causing craziness that gets worse every day. I don’t belong to either party and frankly I’m sick of most politicians at this point. I’m also pretty sick of people who are being generally stupid and feel that everything is a conspiracy from every side, so they just refuse to follow any rules at all.

Idiocracy has become a documentary (all around the world) and that is scary.

On the plus side, I got into NYC early today and decided to walk from port authority to the theater I’m working at on 76th (about 45 blocks, 2.5 miles) since I had time. I was listening to the new Tears for Fears album
on my walk, which is quite good.

Then I found out our shows were cancelled due to broken air conditioning in the theater so I went the church where I work and spent 3 hours programming some new scenes and routing on the digico console.

Why mention that? Because I’m getting too caught up in nonsense I can’t control, but I can control walking on a sunny (and hot!!) day and working on various musical tasks. I’m using this post as a reminder to myself to do more of that and less on YouTube following politicians being entitled and lawless.

    Thanks for reading…😁

  • I had to cut about 90% of all my political news intake out of my life around 2016, right around the time the unthinkable happened in the states. it was adding way too much stress and anxiety to my life. It was something I could control, unlike some other sources of anxiety. I still follow things and watch a show or two, but it is way way less then I used to.

  • The longer he holds on, the further the fall is going to be. Seems like he’s more delusional than normal right now.

  • I loved one bit of commentary saying that Boris was (metaphorically) handed a glass of whiskey and a gun by one of his ministers, asking him to do the decent thing. Boris (metaphorically) downed the whiskey then shot the minister. Lol.

  • Thanks @mrufino1 Your right. Its actually a beautiful world out there.

The unfortunate thing is these egotistical, delusional, f%@ckers often fall from ‘grace’ straight into a mansion and opulent life, so corrupt are our systems.

  • One comment I read: it’s a rare case of the sinking ship leaving the rat.

  • Nice Quote on Sky this morning… when Boris said he would stay until 2030 he meant half past eight tonight.

That line was from Kier Starmer, I believe. Instant classic haha.

  • Breaking news: Boris has agreed to resign by Autumn

He could have spun it out for a couple of days. Oh well.

  • From now on we’re in for a party political broadcast on behalf of the despicable Tory party, from our ‘free’ media.

  • He needs to be gone now, not in the autumn.

  • On the positive side, the fact that they’re forcing Boris to resign is sadly exceptional in the current political clusterf&&k.
Seems to me like there’s a general strategy to bring politics down to the “street” level. You know, “speak your language” kind of thing. Is that supposed to be a good thing?. I certainly don’t think so. I want the president of my country to be way smarter and more capable than me. Even if don’t agree.
But here we have leaders that are denying science and logic. Praying with an AR-15 on their hands. The class bully getting elected over and over. It’s so bloody sad.
British expats living in Spain that voted Brexit and are complaining about lines in airports, or how they can’t go to the doctor… How can you even relate to them?. Those kind of people put the rest of us in a very shitty situation. We should just say “my thoughts and prayers are with you, may god solve the long lines at Heathrow”.
I’m working on trying to not care so much, because this immense and global stupidity makes me feel helpless.

Apparently there's an overlap until October and then he's gone.
