    Yup, that's quite normal.

All this and with Trump too has me seriously wondering if it has something to do with bad hair.

There are still Tory strongholds and those won't ever go.

How did gas and electric get this expensive anyway? It were like it before Russian Invasion.

Brexit caused the fuel spikes which was made worse by the Russian invasion
as Russia was one of the major suppliers of gas to Europe and the U.K.

Netherlands and other EU nations are going through unrest. With payments made to farmers to stop farming in US?

Yup and they are none to pleased with Boris's Brexit deal.

    Lots of arson to factories?

    Predictable.

Bill gates types are saying we will eat bugs etc?

Again predictable but there is an element of truth.

    Opinion.

Are these people tyrant style kings but on a global level encompassing nations and governments and most issues are manufactured?

They want to be remembered for something and not forgotten for nothing.

    Or not.

Even if so. Who supports their cause etc? Well. You couldnt trully say. Even if you believe so at the present time.

Unfortunately people trust the very politicians that lie to them
and there is also the "Better the Devil you know" psychology.
Before Boris even stepped into office he was caught lying
but there is a rule for U.K politicians in office.
If they speak an untruth without prior knowledge then it's acceptable.
So basically they can lie and say they didn't know before hand.
That's why Boris got away with so much until now.

But the question is. Does it seem manufactured or not. Maybe people would need to see more examples/evidence and even then. Its still not the bigger picture as to why.

Once you take a bigger look at history then what these guys are doing isn't anything new.

  • More of the story. I swapped some strawberrys for leaks. As strawberrys wernt great and I asked lady to be a gentleman and choose for me. She wernt going to swap. Even though she knew I couldnt see what I were buying. 2 leaks were £2.70

    Nah.
This is normal for staunch Tories.
Many Tory voters vote Tory because their families have done so for generations.

What is interesting is that 69% of Tory voters wanted rid of Boris.
"Normally", they expect scandal etc but Boris' tenure went beyond the pale.

For what it’s worth… the republicans would never, ever, pressure trump to resign… and Trump never, ever, would. For as bad as Boris and the Torys sound…. there is (fortunately for you Brits) no comparison. Add in 400,000,000 weapons (20,000,000 of which are assault rifles), 1+ mass shooting per day, five old men and one banshee co-opting the rights of 167,000,000 women while quoting 16th century English witch burners, and an armed insurrection led by the great leader … well, it seems like you guys live in a quasi paradise. But feel free to correct me, I live in Georgia.

The thing is staunch Tories wouldn't "normally" vote out their P.M and Party Leader.
It shows how us how many people are really upset with the current U.K Government.
Regardless of the "rats jumping off a sinking ship" metaphors
the P.M's own party members voted him out

Agreed, there is no comparison hence why we didn't compare.
All things being relative we have our problems also and
though they may seem minuscule to others those things
have a huge impact upon our people.
Food banks didn't exist up until a few years ago.
Inflation is sky rocketing etc and
Fuel and energy prices are constantly rising.
We don't like our country being like this so
we are now rid of Boris Johnson and it was done peacefully.

But feel free to correct me, I live in Georgia.

    No correction needed.

  • Back in 2019 a majority of the British public (at least according to polling) supported Brexit.

Wasn’t Johnson just delivering what the public demanded?

It was a very slim majority. The public were almost 50/50 on that. It’s a very contentious issue here. Johnson hasn’t lost his job because of Brexit though. It’s the tawdry lies and double standards and outright corruption that has pissed off the public. There were regular piss ups going on in his house while the rest of the country couldn’t even hold hands with dying relatives. He was fired by his party because they feared for their own seats in parliament. He has become an electoral liability for the Conservatives.

There were plenty of other polls at the same time that didn’t align with that view. And more and more so every day. Also the daily Mail is widely regarded as an unreliable source. It’s a pretty rancid rag that among other thing supported Adolf Hitler and Walter Mosley.

  • If anyone’s really interested, this was a fairly detailed breakdown of the votes and reasons they were cast that way:

    https://lordashcroftpolls.com/2019/12/how-britain-voted-and-why-my-2019-general-election-post-vote-poll/

It’s highly nuanced so probably not a can of worms anyone really wants to open on an internet forum about music 😅

Even here, in Australia, it is known as a tatty and unreliable rag.

I doubt anyone who previously supported Hitler are still working there. The Democrats in the US formed the KKK and the woman who started "Planned Parenthood" was an avowed racist, so... maybe distant historical affiliations aren't the best indicator of present day ones?

What would you consider a reliable source on polling information in 2019?

Something along the lines of "Married F1 supremo in nude romp with Nazi hookers"... a story tailor-made for the Mail

Is polling even worth considering any more? They seem to get it wrong more often than right.

That is largely true these days. But @Krupa said there were "plenty of other polls" which were different. If all polls are wrong, then how can any politician (including Boris Johnson) be expected to do what they are asked by the public?

Before the election the parties tell the public what their policies are.

If the public like their policies then the party will get elected.

Then the party has a term to carry out the policies as promised.

Polling should have nothing to do with policy making on a day-to-day, week-to week, or month-to-month basis.

No matter where one falls on the political spectrum, I think it's far easier to be a critic than actually do the job.
