    Patience grasshoppers, patience.

Im REALLY trying, midi input would have been a game changer for me lol

  • Well, you know it's coming now at least, which is more than Ableton usually lets on to.

  • Well they updated it today to remove the midi menu item so things are moving along

  • So when are we getting that Midi update?

I can’t imagine too long as work has started on it, but it’s hard to be as patient as we need to be on this one.

    +100

  • Updated... Still seems Midi-In is a NoGo... or maybe it's me?

    nobody promised it btw :/

No, still no midi, I just deleted it from my IPad , I got some decent ideas from it but I’m pretty much over having to use my IPad screen to play notes. I love being able to edit the instruments once I export to Ableton but I just find myself using it less and less. Midi would make it my most used app on my IPad but I’m over it for now.

Ok. Never really used this much, anyway... Hopefully, Drambo does ALS export and MIDI-Import, soon... I think they promised it...

  • Poor Note :( I haven’t used it neither.

I jumped to FL mobile and is way more close to ableton live than to FL studio.

  • Patience people, you’ve already seen MIDI in is being worked on, these things take time to get right.

I hate to be a pain, but are they also going to add more sounds or something like that eventually?

Yeah, the feature set is great, but the Synth Presets leave much to be desired...even if it is intended as a sketch tool. I hope we get better presets, because Operator and Analog can sound pretty nice on the desktop...so I'm not sure why we can't get the same quality on iOS. Maybe Ableton Notes team should sync up with @Spidericemidas from some of his beautiful sound design input on a near future update.

Patience doesn’t seem to be very abundant around here.

Personally I’m just happy to know that it’s being worked on, and it’s still very usable app in its present form.

Plus very many, fine idea there Skipper...

No I think the plan is to do something different and actually remove sounds over time. Until eventually only a sine wave remains.

  • No need to be so sarcastic about it

  • anyone know whats in the latest update?

  • Didn’t realize opinion on this app was so negative as I haven’t read this thread in a while. I’m still genuinely enjoying it.

well, it's the good or bad opinions of about 20 people from the forum.

My take on it: It was designed as a quick notepad (clue is in the name) for musical ideas to be expanded later. Many people seem to assume it supposed to be Ableton Live, except on your phone. I'm pretty sure that's not the case.

For me, actually, with Note as it is, there are actually still too many decisions I have to make before I can start recording an idea I have in my head. If I have no idea other than 'I want to make something' then the randomised start point provided by note is great. But if I start with an idea, I very often waste time hunting for suitable sounds before I start, and then find the idea has gone or has lost something.

Me too. I'd love more sounds in it, but I'm also happy to import what I can, and just appreciate it for what it is. A lovely little app.

Make a template project with your go to sounds

  • The sounds offer a lot of customization and you have a sampler, if you want a sound Note doesn’t have just sample it!

I love the app, since launch I’ve got more ideas down in Note than in Cubasis, NS2 and Drambo combined. My only issues are the actual team seem incapable of good communication and don’t really bother to support and reference people creating with their app. A quick search of #abletonnote on any platform reveals some lovely work and shows the breadth of what this thing does really well. Shame the team don’t support those. Sure more sound engines/sounds would always be welcomed.

I agree, the update notes reflect it. They say nothing.

Agreed, I need to do that to make it more useful to me
