There's a red line that controls "loop length"? Nice clue. I'll look for red lines.
I'm off to investigate Splat-an-Clat to see if I can jump 20-30 years of relevance in my projects. My most popular recent staffpad work is based on Ableton Notes but I cheated and labeled it as "White Rap" which has been proven to be an oxymoron... (good rapper name).
Are you on iPadOS 16?
Already is, but I still have to navigate several folders deep to get back to where I was last time and try to remember that whole path. Although, that brings me to my biggest gripe with iPad Files app which is that stuff disappears from my favourites and randomly pops back from time to time.
@FastGhost I'm on 15.5
Maybe contact the devs, may be a bug
I’m having the same issue as FastGhost in that the auv3 version of Loopmix never opens the last folder, I’m also having to re-navigate endlessly to the original folder. The Shared Folder solution is much more user friendly as it allows folders of samples to be browsed rather than a continuous list of samples without any differentiation.
Good news as I’ve been contacted by the Audiomodern devs about Loopmix not being able to access the shared folder in auv3 mode, they’re currently in the process of rectifying this 😃
Security Scoped URLs to the Rescue
(In worst case they will ask the user to use the Document Picker to select the Shared Folder and this way give the app permission to access its own files).
Am I missing something here, or is there no way of deleting samples in the Imported Samples folder!
Good to know I'm not alone. Are you on iPadOS 16 too?
Yup!
Sweet
For that BLEND folder, you can go into Presets & Packs and tap the eraser icon. It's a little rectangle at an angle. It will prompt you to confirm.
I actually already deleted the BLEND Pack before discovering that the samples for that pack are left behind with no apparent way of deleting them.
Confirmed - have passed this to the devs
I’ve noticed lately any app opening Files has been showing Folders at the bottom instead of the top.
I thought this was a setting but I can’t find it. Is this one of the 16.1 bugs?
That would be great if they'd manage to make it work. And hopefully and especially for Playbeat - I'd just love to have the ability to roll that dice to make it pick up random samples from Shared folder and throw them over all the tracks.
I second that! The random sample from the shared folder idea has such brilliant potential!
Yep, it’s begging for global Key/Scale Transpose/Quantize feature.. They did say it was coming.. I think..
Would be great if the slices in Loopmix were able to have added attack and release controls 😃
That’s coming apparently! They mention it a couple of times in their replies on this thread

Thanks for that!
yeah!
Quick Question about Loopmix. I see you can Change pitch and length, but I’m curious how precise you have to be with adding in loops. Can I simply throw in several loops at different bpm, and/or key, and they all work together/sound good together? Or do you really have to pick the right loops so they chop up well together? I’m thinking drums but also melody/bass/etc…?
I’m wondering how much effort is needed to get loops in there that sound good together… is it quick and just kind of works, with various loops, or is adding the right loops a timely process? Obviously I’d pick things I like, but I’m wondering how much effort is needed to make sure it sounds good once it starts chopping/mixing them up? Thanks!
Bumping
As also keen to hear a reply to @Poppadocrock
Question,
This has gone a little quiet after the initial excitement, it’s on my list, but wondering now the dust has settled, is it a top 10 app
i got caught up in the excitement and bought this app - it was great fun for the first day or two, so I thought I'd load it up with a bunch of melodic samples and play around (loading up samples & making kits is quick & easy) - but to be honest the results haven't been outstanding. Maybe if they add an ADSR on the sample slices it might be better - but that being said i did manage to get one bassline that was useable - so I haven't given up on it entirely - I do plan to go back and play around with it more - as like I said it's quite fun.
It doesn't interpret pitch like blocs waves does... I would recommend holding off to see if they're gonna add more features - or maybe wait for a sale price on it.
I love it, I’ve knocked out most of an album’s worth of stuff with it, but I’m not the most melodic of musicians, so I understand it’s not for everyone.
I like hitting the randomiser once I’ve got a decent ‘kit’ loaded, and when I get a good loop, Airdrop it into Ableton on the desktop.
Ok. Thanks. Audio Modern Apps almost never go on sale, I think only Riffer and only a couple times. Yea, sounds like an ADSR envelope would be nice. It’s up on my wishlist but so is playbeat 3, which I think I might be leaning towards, but Loopmix is unique.
Thanks. If I can ask… so do you spend a lot of time finding loops that work well together, or is the workflow a quicker then that? Is it easy to grab different loops and they work well or do you have to be more meticulous with loop selection to get good results? Thanks in advance.
I’ve had a lot of good luck with it myself but I’m using samples in key but you can pitch individual tracks. What I’ve really liked from it are using spoken bits from horror movies and having loopmix chop it up and using like lofi chord progressions that get chopped up along with it. The random pitching can get kind of extreme so I set that to be more subtle and like the results more
I tried making a few kits with samples that were all in the same key. So for example I loaded it with a bunch of guitar loops that were all in A minor. Also tried loading different types of loops, like maybe 1 or 2 bass loops in Eminor, a couple piano loops in same key, a couple synth loops in same key, and maybe 1 drum loop... played around with things like that, but again end results not much useable to my ears - It could be a matter of finding the right settings - I think I've only played with it for about 2-3 hours.
Thanks for the replies
Definitely food for thought
