I can understand really good piano players wanting Pianoteq for manual playing, but Ravenscroft is almost as good while being a lot cheaper. I think it is perfect for sequencing and composing, especially as part of tracks with multiple instruments.
Once you experience the FULL power of Pianoteq ..I doubt you’d go back to any other iOS piano app. There are SO many different instruments other than the pianos and they sound great. The other instruments are well modeled, I use them all the time. It’s in my top 5 for iOS this year. 7 months later..still the best purchase I’ve made this year
I couldn’t choose those two instruments for the stage option and concluded that I probably don’t need them yet.
Same. Aside from the pianos I'm using the EPs, the clav(Hohner), and Vibes. I would like to add Harp. Eventually IE not any time soon I might add classical guitar, kalimba (celeste), marimba(xylo) and Bechstein which I've come to realize is a remarkable piano (I have Steinway and K2).
Vibes is soooo good!!
***EDIT: Damn. Crashing again. Very strange.
**EDIT: After rebooting/redownloading/restarting the app half a dozen times, the crashing went away. Go figure!
@HotStrange are you noticing stability issues with Jazz Drummer (e.g. while cycling single groove/pattern while playing)? Also is it just me or are the players a bit eager with the ride/bell (or eager in general) at most settings?
Funk Drummer feels a tad more solid in comparison. Updates might not be forthcoming, with last update at least 2 years ago — bug(s) exist on both old iPad and new iPhone. Probably gonna keep it anyway. No telling when or if it’ll ever go on sale again.
Could you demo them in another thread? Maybe focus on the parts you find the most impressive. I'm really curious how they compare to everything else.
I’ve been trying to like Pianoteq but it’s somewhat plasticky-sounding to me. I’ve been testing out the demo to see if I can get a great piano sound and haven’t managed to, though I have tried multiple things… too bad though, because I would really be happy to buy it…
Regarding Just Piano... For the performing musician who may need to change patches quickly in AUM does it load fast? Also is it hard on the CPU?
Syntorial 2 IAP is 50% off both the upgrade from version 1 and the version 2 full unlock

After Focus Background Blur is free usually $2.99
Cheers mate.
Thank you. It appears Luis is doing one a day. So maybe a couple more to come for Sunday and Monday. We shall see.
Portable ORG Pro is $2 off at $.99 - not sure about connectivity on this one.
Maybe you've accidentally loaded a plastic piano model coz it definitely ain't plasticky
Contrary to some people's past comments, tons of piano players will confirm. Here's one who other piano players (such as Brenda Russell, and Burt Bacharach) hire to play keys for(with, rather) them, demoing the Bechstein, which is a lot brighter than some of my other favourites, but, plasticky, never. The Steinway is a staple, and comparable to sample library pianos like Grandeur which are also Steinway. K2 is similarly just a great workhorse.
(Sorry for threadjacking - back to all other ios deals...)
I'm trying to scrutate the pricing myself. How much if I just want a Steinway? I looked at the IAPs on the App Store and they were no help.
You mean for Pianoteq? To own just one instrument, requires buying at least Stage version, which comes with two instruments, one of which could be one of the Steinways, and one other of your choice. Currently that's somewhere around 118 us dollars or equiv.
After you have such, if you wanted more than your 2 you can just buy more individual instruments at their own prices, currently around 34 us dollars usually 49. At 118 USD it is expensive compared to Ravenscroft, but not compared to the likes of Vienna Sound Library concert D synchron, which is probably a valid comparison, https://www.vsl.co.at/en/Synchron_Pianos_Bundle/Concert_D
Thank you.
Can we expect a poll for Black Sunday and Cyber Monday as well?

This piano app is on sale for $20
Genuine Sounds Vol 1 is usually $35, for reference. That is roughly 43% off. Ha
The app itself loads quickly as any other app in AUM, but with Just Piano you can only have one piano sound at a time. So to change pianos you have to download a whole other one which replaces the current one and takes 2-5 mins depending on your wifi.
For that I’d recommend the Geniune Sounds app which comes with all the same pianos plus organs and other sounds, and they’re all available at once.
Yamaha CFX, Steinway Model D, Yamaha C5, and then the other 2 are piano samples made by GSI for the Crumar.
So I haven’t had a chance to spend a lot of time with it yet but I did mess around with it for around an hour or so last night and didn’t have any issues. I’ll definitely use it more later tonight so I’ll report back if I have any problems.
Don’t get me wrong I LOVE Pianoteq, it’s one of my favorites of the year. But for piano sounds I honestly may prefer Just Piano. It’s a bit more mellow and easier on my ears. I mostly got Pianoteq for the other sounds. The Hohner and Classical guitar packs are amazing. And I’m planning on upgrading to standard soon and getting the e-pianos a long with them.
I’m hoping they’ll port Organteq eventually as well.
I kind of hope that rather than work on porting Organteq to iOS that they work on modeling tone wheel organs.
Since Galileo 2 is only $2.99 I’m considering it especially since there’s no word on a sale of Buttersynth or the ApeSoft Apps… if anyone here owns it, how is it?
For 3 bucks it’ s ok but it sucks B3x
I don’t think it sucks, but it’s not an accurate B3, just a kind of vanilla tonewheel organ.
