Maybe Harry will turn his talents to physical modeling next… @Gavinski has been hinting that a Decent Sampler alternative is in the works. But this might be more of a Kontakt alternative because importing free instruments might not be a part of the plan. If it imports Decent Sampler xml files I’ll be ecstatic. Maybe as an IAP in a year if it sells like LP4IOS.

    Kontakt on iOS… 😮‍💨 😮‍💨 😮‍💨

  • Hey Gav - is this the Decent Sampler alternative you've been hinting at?

  • edited May 2023

For this price I expect it to be better than anything else created in the iOS universe

In any event, more choices are a good thing.

    Choices are dangerous for some.

I can’t help but notice how good you are at just saying “No” while the rest of us are busy going through the sofa for the spare change to buy PianoTeq for $129, $259, $399 or $899. You just go… “No Thanks”.

I’m sure the fact that you are under 20 and I am over 70 has some bearing on these decisions. I don’t have to go to work anymore. So, I just play all day and into the night.

Haha. Not true. I'm getting up in years myself! I just can't afford to spend money like I used to. Glad to hear you're retired (?) and enjoying life. :)

  • Sorry to go somewhat off-topic but I'd like to throw in another, quite different option for anyone interested in hardware too: The Korg Wavestate. A hardware synth with quite a large and usable sample library built-in, enough hands-on control and a full size 3-octave keyboard.

It only costs 1100 USD to get all the packs.

Damn, if only it was a subscription app...

You beat me right to it, lol. OR even better, an optional subscription for those of us who can't be faffed spending $1100 all at once but want to have our cake and eat it too. That way, the people who want to purchase packs outright can do so, and the people who can't afford all of that money can get access to the sounds right away.

Yeah this wasn't what I was talking about, only found out about this yesterday. Indeed, this seems more like a Kontakt alternative. Nice that this is mpe though

  • The price is just insane in my very personal opinion. The competition at this price is pretty significant. For the way I work it is. Maybe not for everyone.

  • Wow that acoustic guitar. Haven’t heard better on iOS.

  • When is going to be on AppStore ?

  • The trickle is officially turning into a flood. Lol.

Pumped to see desktop class sample libraries on iOS, although I can’t fit it just now. When I upgrade this will surely be something I explore.

    YES! I love it.

Yeah the last week has been pretty exciting as a jolt to iOS music.

  • This seems like a masterpiece and it sounds gorgeous. Love that it is MPE too. That price will probably keep me out of the game, sadly…and not just from a cheap iOS perspective. There’s a reason I’ve never managed to own Omnisphere (I know, not apples) on desktop and this falls in the same mental category for me. I am a “collector of things” and the price of entry and risk of ruin are too much. I would probably drop $100 and maybe even more on it but right now I’m scared. I guess we’ll see how it goes. Much success and glory to the creators of Xinematix, though!

No because this is just for loading proprietary samples. I didn't know about this one til Thursday, looks good though. Should have been released yesterday but seems there's been some delay

  • @Gavinski Yes, Harry had to resubmit, hopefully it will go through this time, could be out anytime now, Apples App review system never fails to amaze me🤣

So apparently a join venture with Kurt Ader, the sound designer behind the KAPro IAPs in Korg Module.
Not sure if I would like to download GBs of library and pay $$$ of IAPs. I am just speculating of course…
Also - if this is a big rompler - I wonder why this could not have been done in AudioLayer.
Well, I am eager to know what it proposes as sound design possibilities. Will know it soon.

Don't think Karo has anything to do with kapro, but seems he has done a lot of official packs for Korg Kronos, so we're definitely talking about a top tier sound designer

This does seem like a wonderful instrument, but since I have Beathawk and all its IAPs, Module Pro and all its IAPs, and PSP2 and all its IAPs, would I need this app and all its IAPs? :) I think I have sufficient enough sounds to choose from already.

😂 I don't know. I'm speaking more as a man who is skeptical . The rompler sounds wonderful, but honestly can I afford another multi-hundred-dollar investment? And will I have space for it once I download Logic Pro and all its packs on a 512gb iPad Pro? 😂

Kurt Ader certainly has the track record going back to at least the early 90s to suggest this could be so!

  • What’s going on with this? Still waiting for it.
