I saw! 😳
Wow, let it rain money, please.
Interesting: https://www.ableton.com/en/push/
Oh god....
lets go!
Shit. Bad timing Ableton ) My wallet freaking hates you
They're working on it for years. I remember they were hiring ppl for LInux embedded years ago.
Now this is fucking dope.
You can buy the controller version, and then this https://www.ableton.com/en/push/upgrading-push/
And you can upgrade ssd, cpu to "keep up with times"
Finally holding out on a Push for a decade pays off lol
They should call it, The Shove
1999$ nice price
Looks like they learned from Maschine +
Standalone price = controller + Macbook Air M1
So a self contained portable Ableton Live
Kinda looks like it’s a solid alternative to a Linnstrument as well 😍
2.5h battery, kinda trash
Will I be able to use my favorite VSTs on Push in Standalone Mode?
Push doesn’t support VSTs or Audio Unit plug-ins for use in Standalone Mode. To transfer a Live Set containing plug-ins from your computer to your Push, first freeze any tracks containing plug-ins. Learn more about freezing tracks.
Bummer: Linux limitations… maybe one day 🙏🏻
…although this might be the ultimate hardware controller for iPad 💡
cheap as flip, I think I will get two and put one into the guest-restroom
I don't expect VST for a standalone platform, it is normal.
Yeah, I held my breath until they said Linux then I was like: “damn!” 😂
What a mad day to release this news! Ableton power move!
Gaaaah, I would be all over this if I didn't also want to see how Logic turns out on the iPad, as I will need a new iPad to take advantage of it. What a dilemma!
It's more complex than OS . Many VST installers are more than placing a DLL to a folder , plus you don't to risk crushing the unit due to a bug
true
Up to 2.5h
Impressive, but my OG push is still kicking strong and my 404 handles my dawless needs. This looks fantastic though, love the battery operability. The hardware has a great reputation for sure.
That thing is big! Not exactly portable. I wouldn’t be surprised if a micro version appears, the “Tap” or something.
But does it run Logic Pro?
Blimey. Pricey, but the built-in audio interface is handy. Wonder what the level of iPad connectivity is - aside from the two audio-ins there’s a USB MIDI connection - wonder if this would receive audio too? Probably not, but it’d tick some boxes for me if it did.
Need a new bathroom
Finish the drive, finish back garden, cars about to stop working
How the hell am I going to convince the family that this is more important ( and the last bit of hardware I will buy )
Apple will laugh .. we’ve got iPad. They can reconfigure at will. Watch… Within a year tops … Begini g with best sequencer .
I was impressed by the Push 3’s “future proofing” making the guts of the machine replaceable so if 2 or 3 years you’re not left behind.
This is the most interesting part. Odd that they went for Intel not ARM though. Maybe because Live already runs on PCs.
Love that it has a Hi-Z input for guitars. And it costs about the same as a 12.9-inch iPad Pro!
This will sell to every single person who uses Live for live performances, as they will be able to ditch the laptop.
I wish I had sold my Push 2 last month when I thought about it. I wonder if there are any hardware improvements from Push 2 to Push 3 if you don't go for the standalone version?
