Ableton Push 3 Standalone released !!!

  • No, the cost of the hardware is fixed, doesn't matter which software version you have. Standalone Push 3 is still $1999 if you have Suite.

  • I would love to see a final firmware feature upgrade for Push 2, but I expect that won't happen.

They really should have included the set view in the display on Push 2, as it's possible to do it (there is an M4L external paid plugin which enables this but it's a little buggy annoyingly and wasn't cheap).
It's now in Push 3 which is good, but they should have included it for Push 2 really as it's an essential feature I think and not hardware related.

  • Ah, alas. There is a slightly confusing link on the Ableton site that led me to believe — really, to hope against all logic and reason — that I could somehow just get the Push 3 controller and "upgrade" to Live 11 Suite....

    That makes sense.

No one said it's not coming to Push 2. Ableton has been very good about trying to maintain feature parity among Push 1 and Push 2, and this is going to continue with Push 3 now out.

Yeah I hope so! fingers crossed they'll update that :)

  • Ooooh baby...it is here.

  • Good to hear regarding the crappy plastic is no longer used. My push1 is untouchable at this point.

Is it? Still seems available here (UK).

Definitely interested in the non-standalone, but will wait a few months for user feedback.

  • I wonder when Ableton will intro subs.

Not surprised, it’s a lovely looking thing.

Yes, and you can upgrade the non-standalone to standalone later if you want too. Kits for that will be out much later this year, so people should buy according to their needs now for sure.

  • Looking forward to loopop's likely comparison to come with vs the Akai MPC. He hinted that is to come with his Push 3 video that just came out.

  • LOL, Red Means Recording Push 3 spoof

I wonder if it can be charged from an external power bank ? 2 hours is a little short.

    The FAQ says:

Push 3 can be powered using a USB power bank. Use a PowerDelivery(PD)-capable power bank that can supply 20V/3A.

    (EDITED)
I removed this post because I am concerned about causing indirect, chemically hazardous situations.

    Looks great!

But after paying $2,000...they don't even throw in the MIDI dongles!?

    Wow.

"All Push cables are also available to buy separately."

Can't even find a link to purchase these dongles.

Anyone come across those in the Ableton store yet?

Well, at least with Push 3 standalone, users get full access to the Ableton Suite. One of the criticisms with Maschine + is the lack of access to full Maschine library.

I really love how Ableton has made the new Push an advanced musical instrument, utilizing MPE to maximize expression. Bravo to Ableton for embracing where we should go with music technology and making it standard!

Strange wish: it would’ve been cool if the standalone had a built-in microphone for acoustic instrument capture 🤷🏽

Imma save up for the standalone…

nope , only the intro is included , the suite is extra :p

  • I’m surprised that a pro bit of kit doesn’t come with full size midi connectors.

Yeah, I meant access not included 🙏🏻

It’s not a very tall box. Looks like it would be hard to fit a full size midi Jack?
