Aren't you supposed to post a scathing App Store review before reading the manual?
New times, new rules?
This is why we love Bram. On top of things as always. I just purchased Perforator just to support Bram as thanks for being on top of things.
Damn. I have allready bought all of Bram’s app. He better make a new one for me to buy 😁
Yeah it’s a chordpoly problem 😂 Scaler works perfect (besides the weird scaling of the auv3 size)
Ha I'm sure he will. Top indie dev.
Jep i’m shure he will. Untill then I’ve just gave him 5 ⭐️ on the app store
Yeah, I think I get that. As an author and tech reviewer, I say this manual is a let down. The port of the app was much better excuted. This manual reminds me of why I used to throw them away. Just saying.
I can attest that ChordPolyPad and Logic is showing the same for me too, I can’t get it to record the midi notes either. Will continue to look for settings or something in manual, but so far, nothing. Maybe a bug?
Logic does not export MIDI. Seriously? How pro is that…
Probably since Apple want you to use it in conjunction with the desktop version. Maybe they’ll add in a future update. Hoping Apple will be listening to all the “missing features” here.
Me too for Hilda
Working fine for me, don’t have ChordPolyPad but tested it with ChordPads+StepPolyArp in chain, works as intended.
When you arm MIDI for recording, you need to see those yellow triangles.
Cubasis has always allowed this, of course...
Finding the same behaviour with ZOA too. Other apps such as scaler and Cem Olcay’s apps work fine.
In my view , quite a deliberate omission from Apple.
For all the praise I give my Ipad/Watch etc, Apple is Apple and is only interested in giving you features which bring you more into the IOS Apple walled garden - whether it's subscribing to their apps or buying instruments/apps from the appstore.
What if you were able to midi export to a PC DAW and discovered the amazing joys of VSTs - you might be tempted to stop subscribing to Logic Pro ?!
Not having Midi export for my workflow is a serious letdown , but I'm early days in Logic Pro and there are already some great bits discovered over GB.
I think Cubasis has midi export, but I'm not keen on learning yet another DAW
A workaround here would be to insert Atom 2 into MIDI FX and rout the midi into Atom 2 in record mode…
The problem - I can’t see anywhere in Logic Pro for iPad there we can have a routing matrix, just like in AUM…
I just tested with Zoa - working fine!
All you have to do is long press on the small Zoa window as shown in the photo. Then when the options pop up, choose ‘record midi to track here’ and press record in the transport. Don’t forget when playing it back to turn off Zoa itself, otherwise it will be feeding in its midi and the recording will simulataneously be feeding in its midi.
Not sure how I somehow managed to post a pic of my dog there too but I’ll leave it for a laugh. His face (he wanted to eat some spicy food that I knew he wouldn’t like) maybe reflects the expressions on many of us trying to figure out various aspects of Logic in these early days 😜
So, just created a new project and tried ZOA again… this time it worked? Go figure… Love the pic of your dog Gav, 👍🏼
Those eyes. 🥹
BTW, Velocity Keyboard recorded with all automation, fantastic!
Yeah...Would much prefer tabbed
Cute dodge! But yeah...I can think of worse pictures you perhaps could've accidentally uploaded
Very cool!
Hahaha, definitely! > @el_bo said:
@Luxthor don't worry, he has a great life and is generally super happy, especially off lead. I wish I was Casper!
New forum rule: you can only upload screenshots of Logic Pro if you also upload a picture of your dog.
Got similar troubles with Audiomodern apps. Riffer doesn't record anything at all, Chordjam handle only first chord from sequencer.
As LP iOS and LP desktop are very linked within k it is interesting to follow new updates on LP Desktop and 10.7.8 was a very big one just released so I sum up just can be useful for iPad LP
New in Logic Pro 10.7.8
New features and enhancements
Adds project roundtrip capabilities with Logic Pro for iPad.
Software Instrument tracks now offer an Input Monitoring button to allow instruments to be played independently of track selection.
Clicking anywhere on a selection of regions that include loops with the Glue tool now creates a new region replacing the selection.
There are now Key Commands to adjust Region Gain.
Pressing the Control key while moving Downbeat or Beat hints in the Smart Tempo editor now disables snap.
Pressing the Control key while launching Logic Pro now adds an option to launch the Core Audio driver with Audio Unit plug-ins disabled on launch.
Key Commands to Nudge events now work when the Step Input Keyboard has focus.
Flex Time and Flex Pitch
Flex Time for a track now remains enabled when switching presets for audio tracks that use a single channel with those that include a track stack.
Take regions now display Flex Pitch notes in cases where the flex editing analysis for the audio files was performed in the Project Audio Window.
Time stretch now works with 32-bit audio files.
Dragged Flex markers now snap as expected in projects that do not start at position 1 1 1 1.
Time stretching 32-bit audio regions no longer leads to a unexpected increase in level.
Plug-ins
The Channel EQ Analyzer no longer continues to display when playback stops.
The Tape Delay plug-in no longer produces unexpected audio clicks when Flutter is used without Smoothing.
Software Instrument tracks renamed by loading a AUPRESET file into an Audio Unit instrument no longer show “.aupreset” appended to the track name when the project is reopened.
ES2 and Retrosynth no longer produce unexpected aliasing artifacts between voices when playing chords on certain patches on Mac computers with Apple silicon.
Resolves an issue where in certain cases an instance of Ultrabeat would not output sound after Logic Pro is quit and relaunched.
Bypassed External Instrument plug-ins no longer unexpectedly transmit MIDI.
The EQ curve now adjusts more smoothly when raising or lowering the gain on a Peak band in the Channel or Linear Phase EQ.
The MIDI Transposer plug-in now reliably retains settings when a saved project is reopened.
It is now possible to drag audio files from browsers in Logic Pro to Audio Units running natively on Apple Silicon.
The Downmixer plug-in now defaults to stereo.
Sampler and Quick Sampler
The sustain portion of notes within zone in Sampler now play properly in Flex mode.
SDII files used in Sampler no longer distort.
Alchemy
When an Alchemy preset is duplicated using “Save a copy as,” the Browser preset field now continues to display the name of the original preset as expected.
Export
WAV and CAF files exported as 32-bit are no longer converted to AIFF.
Resolves an issue where exported ADM BWF files could sometimes render as 32-bit.
ADM BWF files exported from a project that contains a mono channel with a stereo plug-in now open reliably.
Import
MIDI Program Changes in drum tracks from imported MIDI files now work as expected.
Track names for audio tracks in GarageBand for iOS projects opened in Logic Pro are now displayed correctly.
SMPTE locked regions imported from another Logic Pro project are now reliably positioned according to the option selected in the “Where do you want to position the SMPTE-locked events” dialog.
Audio files are no longer missing when importing a track with Take folders from another project.
So… I think there is some inconsistency here. I opened a new project with the default Logic instrument in place with ZOA and managed to record a region with midi data. I then duplicated the track and recorded a seperate region with no issues. However I then added in another track and put chordjam as the midifx and was not able to record the midi data to a region. I then added another track with ZOA again and this time it did not work.
I can confirm seeing the same issue if I create a track with Rozetta Collider in it, no midi recorded, but open a new project and Collider works and I can record midi data in the region. Definitely a Logic bug I think.
I believe you, what I don’t believe, is that you can control yourself not giving him whatever he wants. 😂
Had my first crash in Logic Pro for iPad today!
Crash occurs when trying to add KB-1 (Numerical Audio) as an MIDI FX…
Elsewhere, Logic is very stable for me on my 12.9” Pro M1…
Has anyone tried to use Atom 2 into Logic?
It doesn’t show up as an MIDI FX nor Audio Instrument?
