Nice! I was expecting more of a splash but not many comments yet. I’m about to buy it now.

Let us know! Curious how many presets - and do they mostly lean towards bass sounds or can this do like an ambient pad too?

Will do! Should be reporting back shortly. Just got home so I gotta get situated first 😂

Surprised I can’t find one YouTube video, I need some info, give it a listen. Any early adopters have some feedback?

    A DONGle. 😆

    Looks a bit like a pedal… but it’s unclear.

I thought it looked like a slider with it pushed up to the top. Or a modulation slide ribbon? If you slide it up and down while playing does it change anything noticeable?

  • I just noticed it is now released! One of my friends on Twitter asked me to do a mashup with a "hard electro bass", so let's see what this sucker can REALLY do! 😉

  • Alright it sounds great in my short time with it so far and the bass definitely gets looooow and has a lot of meat on its bones. I can see this becoming a go to bass machine for many.

It’s a sustain pedal! Not continues for as long as you have it pressed. So I guess technically it’s a sostenuto pedal.

It did just come out poppa, so the lack of vids is hardly surprising! Toneboosters don't seem to bother with social media much and it will take youtubers a while to get round to it. Damn thing literally just dropped like an hour ago lol

I’ve noticed they don’t do social media much but I mean if any apps can speak for themselves, it’s Toneboosters. Or maybe that’s just the fanboy in me speaking but damn I love all their apps. I still don’t have Sibilance and Morphit but the rest are some of the best iOS has to offer. I’m really enjoying Lowtone so far. Might be better than Bassalicious and Model D (blasphemy I know)

This seems to have a few novel approaches. That loudness-domain synthesis, and also apparently the randomizer learns from your mistakes.
Might get it even as I’m fully covered for synths, but I’m a sucker for bass, and this is TB after all. Love their stuff

Can’t wait, it’s the only way to see if it is worth it. I bought a few bass ‘only’ synths, never finding the chance to use them, it’s always different synths. 🤔

Messed around with the demo desktop version for about 10 minutes and I don't think it's for me. If you're someone who can fiddle around trying to get the perfect bass sound for (potentially) hours, this is for you. Honestly, I'm OK with the bass options I have already and cannot see how it would make my work faster or easier. It's a fine piece of programming (with some interesting new ideas in Toneboosters' UI design choices for the future, but I'll be skipping this one. I remain a Toneboosters fan and supporter.

Yes - but I’m sure they would do better if they had a presence on Twitter, Insta etc, and just made a bit more marketing effort all round. At least they do the YT code giveaways thing, so that’s something I guess.

  • What is the waveform selection like? Is it like flowtones with numerous ones or just more basic tri, saw, square?

  • I’ll download the desktop demo and evaluate this one as I no longer do any instabuys…

Good, you're still here, I thought you were on vacation and laughing at us from some vast Jamaican beach! 🏝️ Your assessment of Lowtones will be precise and merciless. 😎

I will say in initial testing, it’s fantastic. I’m kind of a bass head and I do think this one largely depends on how highly you value bass in your tracks. Like @NeuM mentioned, I’m one of those that WILL twiddle for a long time to get the “perfect” bass sound. If that’s what you’re after, it doesn’t get much better than this. Just sounds thick and meaty.

  • Can it do these ultra low sub basses?

I'm the same as you in that I'm also a bass head. I haven't tested this synth just yet, but I plan to today while I create my next mashup. :)

Literally any synth can do a sub bass

On the subject - can generate some nice and quite tearing stuff however

    • behaves strangely. Hitting same key sounds slightly different each time (filter and env wise) and I cannot figure out why. All modulators and fx/ unison are off.
    • static picture of filter shape in the center is plain stupid waste of space
    • Its obviously a fabfilter ripoff like the rest plugs they have
    • I could not find mono/poly switch in 10 mins. Either me being dumb or idk. Its poly always!
    • Where is the manual..got a lot of not so clear symbols for some function
    • Does not have any kind of cross mod between oscs, fm knob is just applying fixed rate modulation
    • not all knobs can be modulated by lfos/env. To open mod amount you have to longpress, and the menu will appear only after finger release, like you need to figure out by yourself how long it takes to keep the finger (not nice)

For now I like it more then not, specifically for having all in one panel (except fx), and the sound is interesting and has a character.

Sure. Any synth can do a bass too :)

. I got it and it’s absolutely beautiful sounding in my opinion and really fun to design sounds . It’s also different than any other base synth I have in that you can layer harmonies and have both bass and mid or higher range pitch together and can modulate specifics of each separate synth. The randomizer is also incredible. Tons of usable sounds and also can further adjust what you randomize just for fun or achieving something more specific with tone and pitch etc. it really sounds beautiful which I wouldn’t use to describe other bass synths I have. (I’m definitely an amateur sound designer who’s background is in 35 years of playing piano so excuse any wrong terminology lol)

Got a hard electro bass working in a matter of a minute, the exact sound I wanted! Will feature on my next mashup!

Good to know, can it get anything acoustic like? Or we talking all synth bass/808 stuff?

Where’s the full breakdown Gav! 😉 lol. Geez. Come on man, you mean you can’t test an app, learn it inside/out, do all the preparation for a video, make a video, edit a video, add all the finishing touches, and upload it, within a couple hours…? Jk. You’re the man dude.

Lol. I know, I know, that was by no means a slight on all the hard work you and some other content creators do to keep up with the vast amount of apps being released. Which I know must be insane.

I was just going through my routine… 1. App I’m interested in is released 2. look/read about it in this forum 3. watch video or 2 to hear/see it 4. decide. Lol. Also there’s almost always something up on the tube wether its a previous version from desktop, or a teaser from the developer, or something… it’s pretty rare that there isn’t something on YT even a 30-60 second clip or post with a few sounds. At least I don’t run into that too often when going through my “routine” lol.

Honestly, I just wanted to hear it/see it in action a bit, before I bought it.

Edit - yeah you are right about TB not messing too much with social media, I didn’t really think about that. Cheers.
