Guessing from the description that the Mac/Windows version is not standalone i.e. plugin only?

Will definitely get the iOS version but not sure abt the pc version, and would be more inclined to do so if it's also standalone.

There will be a standalone and plugin version (VST, VST3, AU)

Anyone on the beta marks out of ten for BAM. Compared to Drambo, Zenbeats BM3, Grooverider etc ?

Why don't you get in the beta instead?

How would one go about doing this?

    Went all-in immediately

I am quite tempted by that preorder. The idea of a nice cross platform ios/vst groovebox could be damn sweet.

i actually paid without really being clear if that desktop pre-order includes the ios. Occurs to me now, probably not!

Desktop pre orders is for desktop only. Hopefully there will be an iOS pre order phase too. To be announced.

i’m sorry to hear that they are separate purchases,

l should have been more careful in my haste to purchase.

desktop (unless it works as standalone with touch) wont be very useful for me

Looks like a very promising groovebox type app.
It will be available for iOS, Mac Os & Windows.

    Reinventing the wheel again?

Not at all. This is in many ways an expansion of LK's paradigm with audio incorporated to make it a self-contained system that works as a host or a plugin.

I find this very appealing, especially from a company that puts as much thought into design as Imaginando does. I expect this one will have a lot of polish.

"I don't make beats, i make music" Sounds as dumb as "I'm not a painter, im an artist. I just happen to paint to make my art." Dumb wordplay on original meaning of words. What year is it now and how is that word Beats used??

Well, personally i find dumb term “beat” when discussion is about anything else that just really beats (i mean drums, percussions). Or at least, to tone it foen a bit, if not dumb then at least very inacurate and misleading. Absolutely admitting i dislike term “beats” when we are actually talkinh about music so i always appeeciare jokes about this term when used in this weird context  When i hear somebody to tell “i make beats” i always ask “you mean like you play in drums ??”

I call hiphop instros “music” too. I call all music just “music” no matter of genre. Calling music “beats” is just weird to me, that’s all.. Any form of artistic expression, no mater if it is more sample based or more synth based, more groove or more melodic based, even noise - all that is for me just “‘music”. I absolutely ignore term “beats” for anything else rhan really drum, snare, hihats and percussions.

It's mostly genre specific jargon, like calling distorted sine-waves 808s etc. etc.

Yea I lol @ dat 2. Any subtractive synth can make 808 kick + more sculpability. I was lucky to collab a bunch anothers studio w/808. Sounded good but not special at de time. Now only sounds special cuz nostalgia.

Just lexicon to represent as samu says

  • Looks a bit like Logic Pro beat sequencer ?

Hmmm, will it support AU on iOS and VSTs on desktop?

Yes, AUv3 will be supported on iOS. Plugin hosting on desktop could be a future improvement. We are focusing on the standalone and plugin side of it for now.

Will it support hosting all kinds of AUv3 plugins (instrument, efffect, MIDI)? Param automation? Multi-out?

  • @sinosoidal 👏👏👏👏👏

  • You can never have enough grooveboxes. Or I can’t anyway lol

i am in beta for some time and i REALLY like this app … it’s lot of fun to work with it, really inspirative groovebox with some very clever UI details … devs are working hard to fixing bugs and improving details where needed.. very promising project 👍

Same here and very much agreed @sinosoidal and company are doing a great job with this one. Lots of features and possibilities. And a great UI.

It looks fantastic! Sorry for not being active in the beta. I’ve just not had enough time alongside testing loopy pro and a couple of others.

Are you planning to keep iPhone support?

  • Looks like drambo mixed with zenbeats. I have both, so I will try to convince myself to buy it :)

  • @sinosoidal

    embarrassing to admit but-

    bought it immediately
realized I wasn’t buying the iOS version
    got a refund
(the gentlemen immediately sorted it, enjoyed emailing with Clive and Nuno)
    Saw the 909 day video
    Bought the desktop version (re-bought?)

  • On beta also
This is a lot of fun
    @Jumpercollins nice video
    Respect to the developers
My father got very ill, just as I joined the beta so haven’t spent much time testing, but moving forward when time allows I will participate more

  • The first thing I have to ask is can BAM do other time signatures besides 4/4? IMHO The last thing iOS needs is yet another app stuck in 4/4 techno/EDM hell.

  • BAM is looking really good. One of the more straightforward groovemakers and certainly a lot that can be done in the app alone.

@Gdub it was the dev video just to be clear was Sharing it

On the beta also and for a beatmaker this app is the Biz.

Yelp it’s got plenty of time signatures and polyrhythmic capabilities

Gonna need to see live recording of melodies and chords and drums as well from within the app before I’m sold. UI looks cool though

  • Will it support multi-core ?
