Yes, it inherits LK song mode and that's already built in. We just can't promise that for an initial release as we are mostly working for stability now.

This is mildly concerning considering how unstable LK is (pretty much unusable on my iPad air M1, and seems like I'm not the only one). You've had a good track record in the past and some great apps, plus confirmed recently that LK will get some attention soon, so I'm sure you'll eventually get around to fixing it. But these problems have seemingly been around for atleast 8-9 months so if any of the LK code has transferred over that's atleast slightly concerning. Probably going to sit this one out for a while unless there is a really good intro price or something.

The reason we are not working on LK is because we are working on BAM. Maybe you could get in the beta testing and let us know if you have the same kind of issues with it. Send me a private message if you want.

I quite like the look of it. I used to own it, so I'm not unaware of its charms. But entering hexadecimal in rows and columns is objectively more 'spreadsheet' than a piano-roll, or working directly with audio in a timeline.

Once one learns to 'play' the qwerty keyboard as a 2 1/2 octave 'keyboard' with down-arrow a 'rest' note-entry is way, way faster than using a mouse to enter notes into a piano-roll and the control you get per note is on another level (Think P-Locks on roids) :sunglasses:

My current Renoise license is good until 3.5 which should be a couple more years considering that phase at which point updates drop...

Actually, the QWERTY action was one of the main reasons I bought it. I really thought it'd be the kind of diametric shift that'd inspire completely new ideas. I did get a little way into it for a while but in the end I thought the huge time and practise investment would be better spent elsewhere.

Did think I might one day get the plugin version, but between LPX and all the iPad stuff I'm already spread too thin.

Yes that would be great thanks, msging.

  • @sinosoidal does it support plugins (vst/au) on the desktop when using standalone?

  • Wasn’t much to talk about anyways

Thanks. Too bad would have been an instant buy on the desktop if it had plugin support, always wanted a Groovebox type of app on the desktop. Guess I will have to settle for the iOS version.

Haha me and my wife play COD Mobile a lot. It’s really fun.

That's PubG :-) But thinking about trying COD - i get in PubG to the point where i am skilled to the level that i am not much enjoying the game, cause i am constantly getting too much skilled players in map, when i was less skilled, sometimes i even finished whole game, now i take down 2-3 players and then somebody takes down me :-))))

Btw you wife is playing with you COD ?? Wow, hold on her, that's pretty unique unicorn

COD with the wife?! 😳The best thing I do with mine is to go to the WoW Stranglethorn fishing extravaganza every few years around Christmas. 😂

Haha we do just about everything together! She might even okay more video games than me 😳

An you’re right! Should’ve looked more closely. I haven’t tried PubG yet but COD has a similar problem but not that bad! Sometimes it’ll put us in matches with VERY experienced players (like streamers on twitch and the likes) but it usually feels mostly like a fair game. And having multiplayer options outside of only Battle Royale is fun. Btw, a new one is coming out in November!

pribably will check it .. maybe we meet in some playground, watch for evil RaySubject shooting from dark corner 😂

😂😂 will do. I’m DrivingCrooner. It’s an I Think You Should Leave reference. I’ll be on the lookout

i installed it, played few matches (translate to “wated 3 full evenings with game” :-)) and then deleted it .. too dangerous to have such app, i would do zero musical stuff for months and i need to finish my Obsidian preset bank + Dramo psytrance instruments collection :-)))

Maybe after that will get back to it but i have to say i like PubG graphics a little bit more. Hard to describe it, it’s not just that gfx looks better in PubG - it “feels” to me more “realistic”, also somehow i am able do more precise aiming and shooting in PubG, dunno why.

That makes me wanna try it. I may download it soon and give it a shot, I know a lot of people really really like it.

I 1000% get your feelings about CODM. I have to pace myself or I’ll fall down the same trap. I usually try to set a one hour alarm so I can hop off after that. But then again I’ll snooze it sometimes 😂

  • Regarding the BAM App; I don’t know.. I was onboard until I saw the “LK piano roll”.

Awesome! I ordered, I just love shiny new grooveboxes.

It’s great man! I’d say right now it’s maybe the best groovebox on iOS. I don’t really count Drambo as a groovebox anymore because it’s kind of evolved passed this. BAM is excellent. Well worth the money.

Good! :) Yeah, I like Drambo, but I feel like I have to build patches or download them from PatchStorage to get anything going, lol. When I want to do modular, I usually pull out miRack and its shedload of modules. When I want to lay out a musical idea, I either do it directly in NS2, notate out the melody and chords by hand, or I open a groovebox and just jam away. (Sometimes I still use Figure to generate melodic ideas.)

I tried, lol, but then I start getting caught up in trying to modulate everything. 🤣 It's more of a good temptation to have than a bad temptation.

I was initially not completely sold on it either and kinda just bought it and let it sit mostly unused. But for some reason in the last couple months I’ve reeeally been getting into it. To the point that I’m using Drambo nearly as much as AUM now.

MiRack is one I keep meaning to learn more. I was gonna work on that this weekend if I get the time.

I haven’t opened Figure in…man. A long time lol. I think I might mess around with it now haha

I dont see it appealing while having drambo.. looks like drambo / ableton for kids (doesnt mean that I will not buy it😂). Is there any audio recording or tracks?

  • Somehow my brain likes the idea of a groove rider like app with plugin support. This is the one that comes closest to this idea.

I like the Renoise - style track oscillator display, and the middle section is colourful enough. Not so enthused at the lack of colour differentiation between modules, however.

Hope you like floating windows, desktop style

Because these floating windows that you will be opening frequently while using the app to access deeper parameters aren’t shown on the App Store screenshots. Just for everyone’s information. Probably not a big deal for most people, but I personally don’t like that sort of design very much.

  • This seems cool to come up with some ideas and I guess the reference to "Beethoven" is to highlight the fact it can be also be used to come up with melodies and harmonies. Seems likely however that it will only support 4/4?

The LK sequencer supports different time signatures and it sounds like this app is using the same sequencer engine. So fingers crossed 🤞
