    Will it support multi-core ?

Do you mean a core for each track? Please elaborate.

It basically means host app can fully utilise multicore performanxe of CPU .. by default on iOs there is main realtime audio thread and all host dsp code + all plugins dsp code is dispatched into this thread.. this unfortunately means that App can really utilise just single core (OS can’t distribute calculations of single realtime thread across multiple hw cores)

There is apple API where APP can create multiple realtime audio threads and then mix result of them together into main audio thread .. it is usually used in DAW apps in the way that host app creates sub-thread for every track - so all fxs (inclusing au plugins) on that channel are calculated in own thread (allowing cpu distribution of CPU time across multiple high performance cores)

To my knowledge, currently it’s supported by Cubasis and Logic.

    more here:

    https://developer.apple.com/documentation/audiotoolbox/workgroup_management/adding_asynchronous_real-time_threads_to_audio_workgroups

  • AEM also implemented multi-core support

We don't support it yet. Something to investigate in the future. Thanks for the tip.

Gonna need to see live recording of melodies and chords and drums as well from within the app before I’m sold. UI looks cool though

It’s still in beta. I’m sure the closer it gets to release the more demos you will see.

  • Audio tracks? Recording, routing?

  • I like it a lot, I found the workflow to be really smooth and accessible. Modulation is well thought out and flexible, the built in instruments sound great. I used it a lot more than any other groovebox, really enjoyable to take the iPad out to the park and jam under a tree.

Looking forward to the release. BAM is great fun. 🤩

  • What a turn off

i am in beta for some time and i REALLY like this app … it’s lot of fun to work with it, really inspirative groovebox with some very clever UI details … devs are working hard to fixing bugs and improving details where needed.. very promising project 👍

Sadly nothing like that was shown on the video, I trust your word tho.

You don’t like apps that can make music?

Wait... is it just a re-dressed 909? Or is there something we're not seeing here? I can get all of the functions shown in the video in either GarageBand or Logic Pro.

Why would you ever need this if you have drambo? Literally is it magic somehow in some way we haven’t seen?
Cuz after that video all I can think is ‘feel the vibration’ by markie mark and the funky bunch…meh
Ima buy this and model underwear I guess…lmao

The video killed any tinge of desire I didn’t have for it
Maybe for you, but not for me…

I don’t like right clicking xD

Naaa i was interested in the app but i felt it doesn’t bring anything’s new to the table(t) 😅

Depends on cpu of app. I got a drum machine per track in Drambo but might add another drum machine.

I would say that if someone is really happy with Drambo, they’re not the target market for BAM.

It has a similar workflow to Drambo, but it’s a non-modular groovebox. It’s more accessible, though the similarities have gotten me opening Drambo more often.

It’s not a full DAW and it’s way more than a sketch pad, but it’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea.

It appeals to me on a more intuitive and tactile level in the same way that Loopy Pro does.

The app does way more than shown in that video. It isn’t just a drum machine. It also has synths., etc.

That video was not meant as a tour of the app’s feature set.

BAM looks like a good app to me to be honest. Simpler than Drambo, but more to it than other iOS grooveboxes if the website's advertising is anything to go by. In a way my first impression of BAM is it's sort of like Caustic in a sense.

  • The cross platform aspect may make it a great "coffee break while at work that takes on a life of it's own outside of work" sort of thing like Endlesss.

i just like it.. it’s not that it has all possible features and unlimited posibilities, as i know people here there will be for sure complains “i am missing this or that”, yeah it has no audio tracks so for some people end of world 🤣🤣

I look at it as at very compact nice geoovebox, where some limitations are actually benefitial and holding it in area of high fun and live jamming - instead of deep elaborate track composition most of features sre directly accessible on one screen or max one tap away.

I would say it’s most close to experience i have with my hw groove boxes as it gets. Having really fun with it.

yes this is very good point.. it feels like very simplified Drambo - without modular aspect, with hard coded 16 channels + master channel + 2 sends, with general workflow where you add modules in line one after each other, with clip based workflow and with main screen views stacked one bellow other ... It has very simple intuitive way how to modulate with lfo/env any parameter (includinf au oarameters) and auper easy way to handle automations where you just twist knob and automation lane appears - i really like thit cause i am sucker for mudulations and automations :-)

  • Will the clip launcher work with external hardware like a launchpad?

Yes, it inherits LK song mode and that's already built in. We just can't promise that for an initial release as we are mostly working for stability now.

  • Seems like perfect groovebox for me, powerful yet with clear and simple UI. Is there free slots in beta test team on iOS?

Did somebody say Caustic? I guess I need to check this out now.

    IMHO
    It’s like a Drambo reboot…with no power

BAM! I’ve said what I’ve said

  • I really don’t get the Drambo comparisons at all. It doesn’t seem Drambo-like to me. Unless all grooveboxes and clip launchers —including those that came before Drambo are Drambo-like.
