Woah! This is fucking GREAT! Totally loving these sounds. Congrats on the release @analog_matt
Quick question folks - this is surely user error, but LFO3 seems kinda elusive. Like sometimes it’s there and other times I can’t see it. Can someone explain the modulation routing? It doesn’t feel entirely intuitive
It’s not out in the UK yet. Something to look forward to later in the day.
I have no complaints about the pricing or presentation of promotional materials thus far, nor am I anticipating any post purchase.
I’m in the UK and I bought it at 7 am!
100%. All the new apps are fantastic. Love the look and theme of them as well.
Got it now - thanks
You’re a gem @analog_matt. This is awesome. Thank you!
Dumb question - does the 3gig library download happen the background after opening the app for the first time is does it need to be initiated somehow?
Thank you. So evocative of a particular period in synth development and sound design, that I love so much.
Question, @AnalogMatthew… with distortion enabled and the mix up a bit, the Amp knob doesn’t seem to do anything? No biggie. I’m not going to be using that effect much… these samples and their other processing are just too beautiful.
To think what these great sounds would cost hardware wise this is a no brainier thank you.@analog_matt
Hi @AnalogMatthew . This looks very nice. But there seems to be a strange interaction between the page controls (Main, Osc, etc.) and the Settings gear icon in the upper right. Try cycling through the pages twice, then tap repeatedly on the gear icon. Different items are displayed in the upper and lower control panels. Running stand-alone on iPad 6, iPadOS 17.1.
What a great treat to wake up to. Thanks matt!
Blown away by some of these presets! So inspirational!
Thanks very much @AnalogMatthew
Thank you @AnalogMatthew. I haven’t made a track in months since the loss of my partner and thought I’d never buy another app but I’m gonna get this and I think every other forum member should, too.
D1 was great but frustrating. Just to have a glitch free D1 would have been great but this seems like a lot more.
We’re very lucky to have a dev like you and AK as well. I just might change my vote for best dev to you for your dedication and generosity. Congratulations on this, bro. I might have to make a new track with this.
An insanely high value app that prompted me to buy King of Bass and VHS Synth, too.
another purchase - looks at the Korg non AUV3 apps in the corner before turning off the light
What a bargain. Great app!
You received my payment
Thanks
Got all 3 kings of … now
The engine on this app gives these sounds some really nice sparkle and depth. I did an A/B comparison of several presets with Digital D1 and adjusted the output levels to match (KoD was higher by default) and compared the spectrograph output on Pro-Q 3, and it seems to confirm that on the default settings, there are some differences. Low end and high end seem more extended. Of course this could be a product of the default parameters on each app, as well as a number of other things, but after some in depth listening, I feel that KoD is more pleasing to the ear, and less "digital" sounding if that makes any sense at all.
I think he should at least add some "tips" IAPs, like small, medium and big tip IAPs or something, that basically do nothing
I’m in!
Will this app work in Logic on a MacBook with an Apple M2 chip? The King of FM works fine on my MacBook, but in standalone mode only. Logic doesn't see it.
I believe I've figured out my earlier confusion regarding the controls. Here's my description:
AudioKit apps are not optimized to be used as plug-ins on desktop. I tried using King of FM in GarageBand and Logic Pro on desktop and got nothing but crashes. I think they’d have to make some serious code adjustments for it to work and desktop doesn’t seem to be a priority for them at this time.
Great value, thank you @AnalogMatthew
So…why does the E Guitar preset have a little icon next to the name and none of the others do?
@AnalogMatthew . I hope you've created the AUv3 AudioComponentDescription identifier in the Mac-compatible format. I believe it requires ALLCAPS. Several apps have had to adapt to this in the last couple of years.
The cost of an app is not the main deciding point for me - it’s how much will I use the app. I have too many apps as it is. King of Digital is one that I will definitly use. I judge a synth by it’s presets, because that should show what a synth is capable of, and KoD does not disappoint! Only auditioning so far the bank O: KingD ROM-90’s and I can hear a lot of musically useful sound coming from this synth. EXCELLENT SYNTH!
The whole library is in the initial download, about 480 MB. The app "upgrades" itself when first opened stand-alone. That's it.
Congrats! I just bought it.
Not to rain on the parade, with due hope and respect, it would be great if the app isn't as buggy as some previous apps.
what previous app? the ones of the current gen are pretty solid
Pretty much all of the new apps over the last year have been rock solid. The developer has made it his mission to make that the case. And based on feedback from the beta testers this one is incredibly stable.
