Congtrats @AnalogMatthew on the release of yet another great AudioKit synth! I have a feeling this will become a go to for me.
I don’t have a desktop so I’ve only used what’s on iOS but they all look really killer and I’ve loved them all so far. I use Super VHS all the time.
Agree on Transit though, it’s excellent. I was sure what I was gonna think at first but it’s so fun.
Thanks, there's a tool tip that points this out in standalone mode. Folks can tap on the Nav button you're currently on to change the lower panel. Logic had some issues w/ the tooltips, so AUv3 mode doesn't have any tool tips.
Hey everyone!
I'm blown away by all the support here! Seriously, seeing over 130+ notifications had me a bit anxious, but your messages are so kind and uplifting. It's amazing and really made my day.
I won't lie – I was a bit on edge about coming here after the launch, wondering how it would all go down, especially with my anxiety playing up these days (sober life does that to me). But you've turned that all around with your incredible support.
Every message here is a reminder of why this community is so special. It's like you all knew exactly what to say to lift my spirits. You've all given me a boost of confidence, especially as I work on the Synth One reboot. It'll be free, but I might add a spot for donations.
Really, from the bottom of my heart, thank you all.
This community rocks, and I'm pumped to keep bringing you more.
Regarding the Spidericemidias bank:
The bank didn't convert correctly, so I didn't want to release it worldwide until he has a chance to review it.
But...I don't think it will hurt to post the WiP bank here.
Heck, anyone whose made it to page 7 of this thread probably deserves a treat:
https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/lb9yry4x22pvs1ewh39v9/Spidericemidas.digital.bank.json?rlkey=kcme4h68mykc8hwbghqfj3jab&dl=0
Please note, this WiP may not fully represent Spidericemidias' intended vision.
Also, Dean (Electronisounds) has been quite busy lately. Although KoD doesn't have his standalone bank yet, all the PCMs he created are included in KoD under the D1 Expansion PCM card.
One last note about the preset banks: We had an "AudioBus" bank before, but tracking everyone down is a bit tricky. Plus, with the new interface and sounds, I reckon the folks here now could really add something special to it. So, if anyone's up for organizing a new "AudioBus" bank for King of Digital, that would be incredible.
All I can offer in return is bragging rights and a free copy of any AudioKit app for those who submit presets. Anyone up for the challenge?
I’m down for it!
Please include a tip jar. The Synth One sequel is the one I’ve been anticipating the most.
Count me in as well!
Dean is too busy??? Perhaps we need to send 'The Boys!' around to edumacate him on what his priorities should be
Great news, anyway. Happy to wait for SIM's official bank update, and chuffed that we'll eventually see Dean's presets appear (Some lovely stuff in his bank).
I haven't seen any tool tips in the stand-alone version. Is there a missing Help button in the top row (iPad 6, iPadOS 17.1.1)? See screenshot below. Did I lose the Help button by running the AUv3?
Also, I just discovered that the Info button works the same as Main and the rest. This makes sense for the different control panes, but it seems to break convention for the preset picker and Info, where we expect to simply dismiss them by a second button press or Done button.
Just bought this incredible soft synth (King of Digital) - lovely!
But, a question, I have some patches in AudioKits synth D1 that I really love, and, wish I could export and import into King Of Digital…
Is this possible?
Tried myself without success…
Any clues? @Matt_Fletcher_2000
Me too! I’m still playing through all those wonderful presets, but almost ready to make some of my own. A new ABF bank is a great idea!
There isn’t an export from D1 to King of Digital.
Also , Matt Fletcher has nothing to do with this. Matthew Fecher’s AB Forum handle is @AnalogMatthew
Ooops!
I should have known that Matt Fletcher wasn’t the right guy!
Thanks for mention this!
By the way - I have read a lot from the user @Matt_Fletcher_2000 since 2013-2014, so, where did he go??
His account here is active, but he hasn’t post here for more than three years…
Also, thanks for letting me know that I can’t use patches from D1 into KoD…
@AnalogMatthew you need/should add the AppStore link to the original post.
Appaholics need the quick rush, searching for the app gives you just that extra time to actually consider if you need another synth.
Bought KoD on release day. I'm a big fan of your work. It's me who should be thanking you. Cheers 👍
anybody else had crashing out issues on Logic Pro IOS, when using KOD ?
I used KOD for a few tracks in my last tune - introduced it when the track was about 90% complete. All worked fine.
I decided for my next tune that I'd go all in with KOD, so recorded 4 tracks (16 bars) - all KOD
Sometimes when I press on a track, there's a delay as it's reloading in the KOD instrument, and it doesn't always play the first few notes of the bar (and yes, it is quantised), and sometimes when I click on the track name, it just kicks out to the IOS desktop. In the end, to test, I just replaced all with a grand piano, and now it's stable. I had also restarted the Ipad to check it wasn't lack of memory etc.
maybe just a glitch, and will try again.
@matdun25848834 . In iPadOS, an AUv3 is allowed a certain total amount of memory for all instances. So you might be hitting the limit with 4 instances loaded. If you're not using the second Layer in a KoD instance, you might save some space by switching it to the sine wave mode (turn off the lighted button beside the wave name).
thanks, well I know my previous tune, had around 12 AUv3 tracks, ranging from Isymphonic, KOD and Tera-Pro. Just surprised to hit issues 4 tracks in on this one (all KOD) as it's similar to my experience with the D1 issues. Will investigate further.
Maybe it's time to updated my Ipad Pro 12.9 3rd gen, as it's quite a low ram model
Feature request: The main reason I downloaded this is because I wanted a rompler type synth with randomization and this had a nice shiny dice button at the top but the dice button just selects random presets. Please update this so that the dice actually generates randomized parameters.
Personally I’d rather they left that as it is. All their recent apps have worked this way. Maybe a parameter randomiser somewhere else would be cool but the random preset option is one of my fav things about their apps.
Increasing RAM won't necessarily help. In iOS, AUv3s are treated as extensions, like keyboards and file providers. So, it allows a reasonably generous memory limit for an AUv3, but that limit is the total for all instances of the AUv3. We tend to think of the instances as independent, since we load each one the same way, but internally there's only one copy of the AUv3 extension loaded, with different data for each instance. And that memory limit does not increase on a larger device. This is significant for KOD (and the previous D1) because it needs to load the wave data into memory.
Yeah it’s amazing for when you want that sound but don’t know exactly which preset you wanna use. Toneboosters has an amazing random implementation in FlowTone
Hey there! I totally get where you're coming from, but I think it's not going to happen as you're hoping. If it's not working out for you, maybe checking in with Apple for a refund could be a good idea.
The reason? I totally appreciate the amazing effort and creativity that's gone into crafting these presets by so many talented human people. And want to highlight their work. In fact, I wish more apps had this feature of pulling up random presets.
Another big reason I won't be adding a random preset generator: AI preset generation is about to come into a new era and become super powerful and will soon be a big thing everywhere. Everything's about to change. It's kind of exciting, but also, I guess there might come a time when we'll miss the unique touch of presets made by humans. This app might be one of the last with potential nostalgia for the uniquely human-created presets in the future.
Thanks for checking it out anyways!
@matdun25848834
Thanks for the heads up about Logic. Might be related to the recent Logic update.
It seems King of Digital can work effortlessly in GarageBand with multiple instances, so something must have changed in Logic. Hopefully I can track it down. And, here I was, hoping for a vacation 😅
They’re samples, not wholly synthesized sounds so your options would be quite limited in that regard.
Just here to say that I bought the app today, and I’ve had so much fun playing around with all the many many many great presets. Trying to collect a smaller bunch for my favorites, and then it’s time to explore the details of the app and make some music! Great job, @AnalogMatthew 😎
Since that's not coming for KoD ...
If you have Mozaic and are up for some initial AU parameter mapping work there are a few scripts that you could use for randomization.

Fully agree on your opinion about the great app, King of Digital!
The amount of incredible music making apps on iOS is insane!!
