People scoff at TX-6 then suggest alternatives that are half the cost but: no battery, bad/noisy sound, 4x the size, no audio interface, and so on

Despite the hipster trolling, I would genuinely agree with the love here for the TX6, it does appeal to me for my iPad/small gadget workflow. But that price? Oof! If the Bastl Instruments Bestie included an audio interface on USB C I’d be all over it as a quarter-price alternative.

Currently £185, push it to £250 for the absent integrated class compliant audio interface, and we’d be cooking with gas.

    https://www.thomann.de/gb/bastl_instruments_bestie.htm?glp=1&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiApOyqBhDlARIsAGfnyMpAng244bGiVj-8hxOJTZeyZF3_TiO_ypG38ina_31sZMUs1-qZ4q0aAnl-EALw_wcB

Inspired by the idea of the TX6, I found a nice alternative that is far less deep but works very well for me nonetheless:
The TC Electronic Blender, going for under $200.
    Batteries: Yes
    6 stereo audio inputs: Yes
    1 stereo audio output: Yes
Works as a 12-channel audio interface for iPad: Yes
Has an on-board mixer with 4 headphone outputs: Yes
Has controls for volume and panning both on the device and from an iOS app: Yes

That thing is cool. I wouldn’t use it for my main interface but it’s about the cheapest way possible to do the headphone thing with a band.
