Gonna wait for at least two months to see if anyone has reliability issues — the OP-Z was one of my all-time favourite musical gadgets, but the joy of actually using it deteriorated quickly thanks to the dodgy buttons.
Nevermind. Cancelled my order. There is simply no reason for me to own this if it can’t resample and TE says that they will consider (not commit) to adding it in a future update.
When (if ever) it can I’ll definitely grab one.
They made… a desktop calculator.
surprisingly low price on surprisingly powerfull gear..
I quite like this one ! Very surprised.
Still preferr for small portable sampling/sample mangling device Polyend Tracker Mini - but hell, this calculator looks sexi
The phenomenon of Teenage Engineering Derangement Syndrome is a wonder to behold.
It reminds me of a poll taken during the height of Howard Stern's popularity (and trollishness). The people who said they approved of Howard Stern reported listening to his show for an average of 80 minutes a day. Those who hated him and thought he represented the end of civility and human dignity? They listened to Howard Stern for an average of two and a half hours every day.
I love their sense of humour. 😂
Looks a bit more solid than the Z. Good to see them make something affordable again. I like it quite a lot. The effects sound really good via Cuckoo’s demo
Its sequencer has nice specs for driving external gear, apps, etc.:
9 projects each with 80,000 notes
projects contain 4 groups, each with 99 patterns
patterns have 12 TRACKS for samples and MIDI
variable pattern length per group (1 to 99 bars)

“ There is still a release time of 3pm CET on their homepage, so I’m hopeful this is just a curve ball and something musical is actually coming! “
I typed the above shortly after my initial post about the car and it didn’t post for some reason. Came out of work today, checked their site again and I’m quite happy the above was the case.
This looks pretty fun to me. The “toy” car release a few hours before was TE’s sense of humour I guess…🙄, though not an actual premature April fools…it’s still a legit release.
Hi everyone btw 👋🏼 some familiar faces around here from many of the music forums I’ve frequented over the years, though my username(s) tend not to follow me everywhere 🕵🏼♂️
Moosh
TE revealing and releasing on the same day is something I’m actually very happy about too. Who ordered?
Where’s the best place to get this in the uk ?
Rubadub posted earlier in this thread are a great outlet. Never had issues with them, also DV247. They used to have a massive store near me, which unfortunately closed down a couple of months ago as they've converted primarily to online. Been using them since they were a small shop in Essex called "Music Village", then Digital Village back in the 80's 👴🏼
I can’t believe you guys aren’t buying 2 hoodies for 260 dollars instead. Get your priorities straight.
I'm going to wait a while, too. It looks like a fun sampler and sounds great, so if the build quality seems good I'll pick one up.
Oh the Gas I had watching this item was ferocious…am I into calculators? Am I suffering an accounting fetish? Koala is better but I realllllllly wanted to buy this….ugh.
You're not alone, I think. You're fine, you're just suffering from seeing a very nice and inspiring sampler at a very nice price.
Oh I was Gassed at just seeing it and knowing it was TE…guessing it was gonna be like 2499.99 or something lmao.
The price made it even harder to not buy.
whoever called this a hardware Koala did not help those of us trying to keep GAS under control lol
Sorry about that
Rubadub or signal sounds both based in Glasgow or GAK in Brighton all been good to me in the past. All online.
Thanks for the replies guys
Do you think the next model will be synth based?
@Svetlovska mentioned Akai Force
I’m surprised no one mentioned another Akai product..
(or did some one already say MPC?)
Why everyone copy Mr Beast? Most thumbnails on YouTube are now someone making a "OOHHH" face to sell their video. I called it the Mr Beastification of YouTube. Each time I see a thumbnail like this, I block the channel. Each time I see a clickbait, I block the channel.
Look Ma...
...I can be a Youtuber as well. 😂 Yeah I tried to watch Anderton's video and just couldn't make it past 1 minute. Cuckoo on the other hand was worth the watch. Love his calm demeanor and chill delivery.
I'd watch your YouTube channel.
The world is upside down. Bet those hoodies resample at least.
yeah no resampling on the master is a bit sad. but otherwise, rad indeed.
Looks pretty cool, and I like the drum sounds! Seems simple to use right out of the box? I don’t own a sampler or groovebox or anything with looping or more ‘realistic drum sounds’, just the tr-8S which is very powerful on its own but I would love to use a more ‘unquantized’ stuff, and maybe even set up some new workflow ideas
