This is the way... Apps are pricier, buy fewer, use the ones you have 🤷♂️ 🔥
Quoting for new page before it gets lost. Any ideas?
I can’t seem to replicate it. Do you have any screenshots of the problem?
Great app! Time to play! Is it possible to rename / customise the drumkit icons shown in the pattern? It would be great to have the thumbnail and a custom name instead of that abstract icon with the number in the pattern.
With that said , I don’t want to normalize the price for the price point sake . I was skeptical myself because of other drum machines I got until using it and it was just like “oh wow, I see why now ,” it clicked immediately . I’m very critical of drum apps too and I am super impressed with patterning 3.
THIS app deserves $30, LOopy Pro deserves $30 ,AUM deserves $21, FAC drumkit deserves $17, DRambo deserves $20, eg nodes deserves $22, (just to name a few of somewhat more expensive drum
Machines and daw/hosts and there are others too ofc) but these indie devs are exceptions as there are many apps that DO NOT deserve their asking price , which I will not mention here
I don’t want to detract from patterning 3 and derail this thread - it’s like talking to people about TE and the Op1 field, either they understand the value and the value is inherent to the price or they will not have it, and no amount of reasoning or logic or opinion will hold sway
Suffice it to say - PATTERNING 3 is worth its weight by far, and it stands out as a drum machine particularly in iOS as it’s an indie iOS dev (but across all platforms too, obviously if you don’t know me , you wouldn’t know that drum machines/AUv3 are my favorite thing hardware and software wise)
What a great day in iOS music history! Love the cloud kits, no doubt there’s many more to come. Just to make sure that’s it’s not just me… are there no example patterns besides the default one? We’re not actually meant to make our own are we? 😉😂
My eyes might be playing tricks, but it looks like the left-hand-side labels for
OHH
&
CHH
both seem to have been labeled
CHH
on my default screen.
Is it displaying the same way for y’all? Or are they labeled correctly, and the writing is just too tiny for my eyes to differentiate on a 11 inch iPad Air.
Both are labeled as CHH (12.9" iPad Pro)
Very glad i preordered, this was a lovely surprise to wake up to
On first glance i don’t see any presets, am i overlooking them? Just wanted to give the app a demo and reverse engineer some existing grooves
Sorry - that’s the brand new 11 inch? That’ll get fixed ASAP.
I wonder if the Patterning 3 could compete with Lumbeat's Soft&Rock drummers. Is there anything in the P3 that comes close to their jam and fill features?
Oops 😬 yeah that’s a mistake.
Thank you all for the love. I woke up early with visions of angry comments and I’m so pleased that you mostly seem to be happy with it.![](https://forum.audiob.us/uploads/editor/jq/cd8h2beswn5a.png)
Probably easiest to re download them honestly.
The other way to get them over is to export them all one by one from P2.
It means patterning 3 kits can’t be opened in p1 or p2. But p1 and p2 kits can be opened in p3!
It is indeed! The M4 iPad Pro 11 inch. Thanks very much - the app is so much fun! I'm really looking forward to making it part of my regular workflow on iOS.
Thanks! Excited to work with it more!
Same for me. I just noticed patterning 3 came out but this price is just too much, especially since I don't live in western Europe and yet the pricing is the same. Too bad there's no discount/bundle for P2 users.
Is there anyway to rename these ourselves? I can’t find anything in the manual about it. It seems to pick up the name from the sample but depending on the file name it can get a bit difficult to see what’s what.
There was a discount on the preorder for the last month
Not really. As amazing as Patterning 3 is, it’s still just a drum sequencer that you’ll have to program.
The Lumbeat drum apps are a little different. Yes, they can sequence drum sounds as well, but they are much more than that. The Lumbeat drummers each come with tons of curated patterns that were created by real drummers, with different styles available for each. These simulate a real session player.
Patterning 3 on the other hand, doesn’t come with any patterns other than the single “Demo Song”.
I’m curious if the AppStore is different
Did Europe get the $20 pre order? And then the $25 pre release?
Is there any way to lock the ‘Alt’ function? Some hand gymnastics are required to hold Alt, hold the parameter on the right hand side you want to affect, and then move the value on any individual steps you want to change (assuming you don’t just want to change it for the whole pattern). You have to do all this at the same time, so that’s 3 fingers across 2 hands, and the finger changing the value per step has to move while another is locked to the thing it’s holding!
Maybe a double-tap or 2 second hold would work to lock ‘Alt’? Then you could do the same again to unlock it. Same thing could work for Fill.
If you touch Alt (or fill) and release after dragging off of the button it will latch.![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
I should be able to put that in quickly / it was in p2 but didn’t get it back in yet with all the other changes.
Thank you @Edward_Alexander. So I continue to wait for the Lumbeat sale![ ](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
Brilliant! Congrats on the launch. It’s a really lovely app, I’ve been having a lot of fun with it today![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Has copy/paste of individual pages not made it to release ,or am I doing something wrong ?
If not , please add soon , my excitement has been dampened.
congrats anyway , & good that seems mac policy has changed .

I initially had the same dread but yes it is there! But now its found on the main page amongst the tabs. Different but dies what we wanted.

I am extremely happy with this Patterning v3, lots to sink my teeth into. I feel lije finally Patterning will be at the centre of my drum workflow!
Congrats!
Something like this is happening to me as well. I think it’s picking up the type of the first sample I audition, and applying it to the names of all the parts. So now, on my first test project, all the buttons on the left say Snare.

Thank you for mentioning this. So all the copy paste stuff was pretty much the last thing that I worked on and it was really coming up against the release date … like two weeks ago. I had a page copy paste in there, but it seemed like the beta testers were finding it really confusing. So… I made the quick decision that I needed to remove it until I could figure out a better way to communicate it in the UI. So that’s the story. If you want to get on the beta test for when I revisit it, let me know!
