I love this app.
Me too! It’s ace. Thanks @brambos 🙏🏼
It looks fantastic to me, regarding it’s nothing more than a kitchen window. 🤩 I do not alter or postprocess any XP4N photos. It’s like a game to me. Simulation of being an old-school photographer, haha.
The only thing I do before posting here is to reduce size and remove metadata.
You think so? Okay, thanks then!😂 Yeah I had the same thought and this version is not far, slightly darker and flair from the sun a bit blown up. It's my first attempt with my iPad Pro, such a clunky thing to take a photograph with😃
Please don’t stop boring us! Breathtaking vistas, I love those walls. ❤️
Hey, it’s my personal preference (game), you do whatever you like. Just for clarification sake, I love to postprocess to the oblivion and don’t have anything against it. 🤗
Here's Errol...
Me too. I've only used the native iPhone camera. I would also get @brambos' "film packs" not necessarily wide format, just the filters would do for me. There may be others already in the App Store but I only purchase "music" apps 🤭
Ha ha, I got you the first time and I'm with your latter statement as well, me too!😃
Last week, Jeff Bridges was at the Stephen Colbert show with a Widelux camera. Also seems very interesting! Perhaps there’s already an emulation?
New update should be live, which will hopefully solve the occasional lagginess and the volume up key losing its shutter trigger.
There’s also a new B&W mode and some UI changes.
Wow, the new dramatic B&W looks really nice!
Have you ever thought about making the app capable of recording video? Since ScopeFlare is no longer on the App Store, there hasn’t been any app like it since. I wouldn’t mind paying to have that cinematic look again that was achieved using ScopeFlare. I’m still keep it on my iPad but not on my iPhone 😔
Edit to add a quick recording using ScopeFlare.

A user on DPreview suggested supporting Tanzaku format. It's a Japanese aspect ratio of 7.5x36.4 based on the vertical prayer ribbons found in Japanese shrines.
I thought I'd try it out. I guess it's an acquired taste. Also seems to require a lot of thought about the subject and how to frame it, so it's not exactly a simple photography technique...
This uses the new soft B&W mode (only editing done is the extra narrow crop and the added border):
By the way, does anyone have any tips or ideas about where I could try to "promote"* XP4N?
I used to be active on DPReview forums, but other than that I'm not super familiar with the digital photography scene these days (and Twitter/Instagram are not ideal for organic promotion anymore).
*I hate _marketing_ my stuff, but if I want people to find my app I'll need to make it visible somehow.
The volume button trigger doesn't work as a trigger on my iPhone SE (2nd edition) running 17.6.1...it only changes the volume...
I’ve stresstested it on all my devices and couldn’t break it anymore- no matter how crazy I tortured it. If it still doesn’t work on your end it’s likely a conflict with another app running (in the background) which is hogging the volume controls for itself.
Everything will be easier with the iPhone 16’s dedicated shutter button.
Nope, no other apps running...I just restarted my phone to be sure...but it's ok, I can work with the onscreen button...
Did you update to the latest version? I had an expedited review done this morning to get a version through which should be as robust as it’s going to be.
I had to disable the volume down key, so it’s now just the volume up key which will act as a shutter button (when using both buttons there was a larger chance of the notifications not being triggered by the system).
I think so, maybe it hasn't filtered through to the Swedish app store yet...I'll wait a bit and see...
App is working much better for me, thanks!
Oops, spoke too soon. Had a few times this morning where the app did not save any photos to my photos app. The shutter made a noise and the screen went black like it was taking a picture, but no preview popped up afterwards and nothing was actually saved to my phone.
Quitting the app and restarting fixed it.
Was that was the latest update from earlier today? Or the one just before? Because that was the issue for which I had an expedited review. I’m hoping that no longer occurs.
Have been following this thread from the beginning but only now bought the app. My youngest is into photography, and isn’t this a fun little app!
Besides BramBos and .99? It’s a no-brainer
If only it had MIDI in, though
That would be easier than hacking that pesky volume button into obedience it seems.
Haha, you took my poor attempt at humor and actually made it funny 😄
You’re the man
It was from the one just before I'm guessing, didn't see another update for the app until just now. 👍🏼
With the 1.0.7 update, I lost half of my entire session tonight, XP4N was not saving photos. Also, the orientation bug is back.
I’ll try to reinstall the app, update to 1.0.8, and test it tomorrow.
Disregard
