    Didn’t Michael try that briefly?

  • For this forum, I’m strongly against the like button. 🫣

@brambos .. I dig the app .. dig everything you’re doing with it while keeping it simple .. this has become my go-to camera since you released it .. thanks!

Would love to have a widget to be able to add XP4N to the Lock Screen (on ios18) ..

  • Some shots from Ucluelet, on the west coast of Vancouver Island yesterday.

Hey Bram, thanks for the toggle to Photos! Now all I really, really need is a horizon level… please, please, please

You already can. Use the “Open app” widget and configure it to open XP4N :)

Oooooooooohhhhh yeeeeeeaaaaaaaaahhhhh … nicely done .

  • For @brambos:

    1. With version 1.0.10, the app is always upside down on my iPhone SE 1st gen (iOS 15.8.3). I know my iPhone is old: it has a home button! But I've been using XP4N since it came out, and it worked until this most recent version. It's not impossible to take pictures like this, but it's not fun anymore. I don't really feel bad, since my investment in this app was all of $1, and I've gotten a bunch of nice pictures with it.

    2. What do the viewfinder bars indicate?

That’s weird to say the least. Let me think how that could have happened… I haven’t changed anything related rotation etc.

Thanks for letting me know :/

Edit: it was the first version compiled with the new XCode and iOS18 APIs. Perhaps Apple changed something? :(

With 1.0.10 update Ko-Tanzaku format is always saved in portrait orientation, and border is removed. Did you return the red bloom in Night mode? Now it is magnificent. Also, I noticed longer exposure time at night shots. I could be wrong, but I never had that many blurry images. ;)

    XP4N Night

  • Awesome @brambos
Would be great to have exposure lock + exposure compensation like in the camera app.

In the end it’s all about manual under/over exposing. And I tend to underexpose the default exposure.

    @brambos:
I see now this only happens when orientation lock is ON. With lock off, XP4N works like other apps. I don’t know if it’s worth chasing this one, since the workaround is so simple.

Still curious: what do the viewfinder bars tell us?

They're just a visual aid for helping set the horizon, modeled after the original camera's viewfinder.
