  • That said those icons definitely match up with the Note icons.

If it has the note style note record ribbon for instant creativity that would be cool.

if it just Ableton note on a bit of hardware then that is less compelling unless it has a powerful processor or a super expressive interface. depends on price i guess since Note on iOS cost 7 euro.

4x4 of the same push3 pads with MPE would be nice

  • 4x4 MPE pads with MIDI out as well would get my money in a heartbeat.

Possibly a fun icon for the new Auto Shift plugin in 12.1? or just chorus?

    ahh yah, makes sense

    Please.

    All i want is:
    Simpler—plus it’s amazing warping engine
    Sample Slicing

    That’s all.

I know i will buy this though.

  • Just got a hunch and a hope.

    It’s Push3 connected to Note

I don't think so. You can't load a "driver" for push onto iOS, i don't think.

  • It's a slide out desk tray for the Push 3 actually.

so, what is Ableton move? or you stick to interjecting the odd bad joke?

You and your TE Jabs 😂

    @drez but maybe
With a firmware update to Push3 and a Note update Move integration with the usb port for midi and hopefully Audio as an interface.
I’m going all in on this hunch.
Is Vegas taking odds on this yet?

I’m wondering if it’s kind of like having individual Fors like max for live devices on each channel that are controlled via hardware. Then when you transfer a set back to Ableton, it has those same devices running on the channels. Same sort of Note experience, you start the idea on the Move and then transfer it to Ableton, but instead of mapped to native Ableton devices, they map to the Move variant M4L devices.

so, this would be more interesting to me if the machine ran ML4, in theory you could transfer the M4L devices to Ableton live.
also means it would be open source for new devices.
not holding my breath on this concept though.

This is the purpose of RNBO. To run M4L on hardware devices. It doesn’t have to be open source, it can run Ableton made RNBO devices.

indeed, it doesn't have to be open source but if it was it be very interesting.

regardless, i like the idea and it would be an excellent device and also not step on Ableton's other products.

really hope it's a M4L hardware device which can transfer its ml4 devices to Ableton live. sound almost too good to be true so let's see.

    I'd love that!
A box with MOVEable knobs and buttons to run any M4L device in hardware 😁

And a fairly lo rez one too so it is probably small.

Yup, I’m sticking with $399 price, maybe even $299… seems like under the influence of EP-133

Ugh I hope not. There are way too many of these beginner toys it seems. The market is saturated with them. I hope it’s around the 1000 dollar range so it can be deep and not just another cheap little groove box. We need something with some meat on it. Although they already do have Push as their flagship model at the moment. I’d love to see their version of something like Digitakt 2 meets Digitone.

  • Some more Notes while we wait for Move:

  • Could be a leaked version covered on Son Wu’s YouTube channel…

  • Reddit is flooded with plausible photoshop jobs like this. There are also a number of supposedly leaked URLs that conclusively prove that the Move will cost exactly $500 and be a portable groovebox.

  • Although this does look pretty possible.

Seems odd to mix « cm » and « lb » in the specifications. I’m suspicious.

  • Hopefully not that. Looks pretty basic. Circuit-esque. When there's Drambo or even just get a Push...

One detail triggers doubts in me - “4 tracks” detail… why ?

    • Ableton Lite lite and Ableton Note both are supporting 8 tracks .. would be logical to make this device somehow fit this ecosystem which means 8 tracks more likely

    • Ableton instruments preffered playback direction is from top to bottom, not left - right : which indicates 8 tracks (columns) too (if at least screenshot is not fake)

    • also small vertical +/- buttons indicate adding rows (scenes) and horizontal arrows indicate possibility to switch between currently active track (column) to which is then related 8 top macro knobs for tweaking it’s instrument.

So ,in general - i tend to believe screenshot is real, i am in doubt about “4 tracks” detail - i bet no matter if screenshot is real - if it will be groovebox 8 tracks is more likely. 4 tracks only device would be disappointment for me.
